He felt a small rush, like a jolt of electricity, run down his arms and up his shoulders. He doesn't remember the last time he's held hands like this. He doesn't...remember the last time he'd held hands with Luci. Has they ever? But he doesn't falter, eyes on Luci, and only Luci despite how exciting their hands may be to him. [break][break]

"Mhmm." he said before realizing it's too loud for him to be taciturn. "Yeah, I do." he replied with a laugh, though it's drowned out by the reverberating screaming of cusp that spin faster faster than them, rotating around. "My favorite is the food...but rides are fun too. With the right company anyway."

when was the last time luci had held hands with someone?

[break][break] he is usually more careful in his affections, but there is simply something about paxton concordas that unravels him. when their fingers brush, the touch of their skin elicits a spark. a hidden thrill, even more than the ride that they are on.

[break][break] the sound of concord's laugh makes his heart full, reminds him of afternoons in the art room back in university. they spin faster and faster, but luci is too busy drowning in the sea that is concord's eyes to be annoyed at the sound of vexing children laughter.

[break][break] "am i the right company?" he murmurs, before realizing his own words are being drowned out.

paxton concordas was a nearly unflappable, analytical soldier. Beaten down and carved from the stone he was turned into. With such rare displays of emotion, one could wonder where this sudden tenderness could come from. From the softness in his eyes to the gentle way he rubbed his thumb on the sculptor's fingers. Because that's not Paxton. This Person that rises to the surface is Concord. Untethered to responsibility, carefree, full of life and humor, and a not so subtle adoration of the person before him. [break][break]

He doesn't catch Luci’s mumbling, only perking up when he yells. And Pax, yells back in turn. “Deep fried ice cream!!” His yells are obnoxiously loud as he does it just in time for the ride to slow down. He blinks, looking down at their hands and flushing a little before looking back at Luci. He makes no move to pull away, milking this for everything it's worth. “It’s a little messy…but I think carnivals are places you’re allowed to be. You know?” he said as patrons trailed off the spinning tea cups.

He stands first, offering a hand to Luci to help him out of the teacup. "Messy." He repeated to his date as he led them off the cups. "I just mean carnivals are a low bar of expectations kind of place. I'll get powdered sugar all over my face and just be one of dozens of people like that today." He said, pointing out a few people with traces of white fist on their faces.

“What did you think?” he asked as he nodded up at the teacups. “Ready for something a little more intense?” As if on cue, the roller coaster that served as a backdrop for the carnival drop, screams echoing loudly as dozens of fair goers shrieked.

[break][break] what a foreign concept. luciano had never considered it before. after all, there were very few places that fisks were not allowed to be; they were the kinds of people who were allowed entry to any place that they should want to be. at least, that was how he was raised.

[break][break] he had never spent a second thinking about the places he was allowed to be, the things he was allowed to do.

[break][break] everything simply just was.

[break][break] "you would never be a crowd in a sea of faces, concord," he settles on instead, grabbing the other's hand as he is led out of the teacup. he could not imagine a future in which he could not pick the other out of a crowd. he flashes a smile. "nevertheless, i understand the sentiment."

[break][break] he winces at the idea of a rollercoaster and makes a face.

His casual grin falters under casual praise. Eyelids flutter in surprise at how easy it is for Luci to charm him. Was it the heart of an artist? Or did he practice these sort of things in the mirror. Either way his feels his heart swell, rising to his throat and blush glowing in his cheeks. [break][break]

Gods, it's just too easy. And Paxton makes no move to stop himself- to stop Luci. The warmth of their hand in his takes him over and he doesn't let go for a moment once they clamber off. [break][break]

But he does, eventually. He breaks out of the trance luciano fisk puts him in for a moment to be coherent. "Ri- Right. Any allergies to fried food?" He said, breaking his stare and nodding over at the food stalls. Most everything could and would be fried. "Nothing better than a chili dog too." He added as they got closer to the stalls.
