ULTRA DEEP SEA: DMAS #2

in a matter of moments, the group had not only encountered an adult nihilego, but also been assaulted by them only to find out that their demise was much more sure at the hands of none other than science itself.[break]
it was an unfortunate day to be aligned with fascinations of advancements in such.[break]
"gah!" micah cried out, obviously perturbed by the loud sirens. there was a new sensitivity to her, as if her senses were heightened by some extra-self means. perhaps a trick of the light, a jellyfish outline was behind her - its tentacles holding onto her shoulders like a specter choosing its new body to possess. this seemed to be less than even slightly important, given the impending doom counted down by the 3 minute timer before the rpg team, however, and so the translucent ultra beast seemed to warble a dark laugh that reverberated in micah's head and hers alone. [break]
it would find a new host, seeing as its last puppet was already dismantled so easily.[break]
"don't suppose backtracking is gonna do it, guys," she stated the obvious in an attempt to fill up the loud space around them. at times like this, it was best to calm down and let their wits be about them. trying to think quick, she looked around the room and knew that they were essentially fucked when it came down to it. maybe the room only expected one or two people to be captured at a time, however, and this idea was the best assumption micah could make at that moment. the room wouldn't be able to contain four individuals and their pokemon batting away at the walls of the ship's room, right?[break]
"when in doubt, just slam it out!" she proclaimed, nothing short of adding an extra 'come on and slam!' as she welcomed her larger pokemon to the theoretical deadly 'jam' before them. hatterene returned to her pokeball, the large-bodied goodra and tyranitar duo started mixing acid spray and giga impact as a means to weaken the walls in the room and just slam through them continually to make a path for the team. the rapidash somberly sat back, allowing its trainer a faster means of transport while her magnezone stood by to teleport her out if need be.

Thanks to Shaggy utilizing Terastallization in a pivotal way, the Nihilego's puppet was completely obliterated in a way that would have been pretty graphic if described in great detail. Realizing just how tough those trainers were, the alien jellyfish had no option but to flee. Or so it seemed at first...

The crew finally accessed the engine room, but their exploration was once again hampered, this time by a blaring alarm and a security protocol urging them to evacuate. "I don't like the sound of this! What will happen in three minutes?!" Andrea worriedly cried out. She he didn't need to be told twice that they needed to get the hell outta there. However, the door was locked. Worse yet, the Nihilego from earlier had chosen Scoob as its new host, but the woman seemed to be unaware of it as of yet.

Andrea's Tyrantrum assisted the demolition crew, ramming its Horn Drill against the walls until they were torn apart, creating an opening just large enough for the humans to squeeze through. "Maybe we can find our way out through that hole! If that doesn't work, I could have Spoony Teleport us out!" The dragon-costumed girl said, making her way to the opening while there was still time.

It seemed that their efforts to smash through the wall were all but naught. Danny bit into his lip as he watched the timer tick down, but then somehow, a singular thought managed to come to mind. That's when he brought forth his Absol. After he looked between his Luxray and Absol, he nodded to himself. Surely this idea would work, right? Right?! He turned back to the group and clapped his hands together simply because he had no idea what to do with them in that stressful moment. But as he looked at Micah, he noticed how the trick of light seemed to shine around her as though she was possessed. Brows furrowed, but he didn't want to perturb the group further than they already had been.

"Alright, I think I have an idea! Everyone, if you have an electric type yearning to cut loose, let 'em out so we can fry the system! In the meantime, keep a firm grip on Harbinger here, she's gonna use Detect for us. As long as we're making contact with her, we should gain that protection too! But to be on the safe side, if any of you guys have a pokemon that knows protect, we'll keep ourselves from being fried, too!"

He leaned over and whispered to Andrea.

"Make sure to have Spoony use Calm Mind on Micah. This might be my paranoia talking, but something seems off about her."

Danny placed a hand on his Absol and let her set up a Detect so it would not only protect her, but protect them as well. It wasn't long until he directed his terastallized Luxray to keep a continuous charge on the system so it would overwork the system. If they managed to do that much, they could make an escape. Once the power started to flicker, Danny took that as his cue to kick the door open. Thankfully with the power that seemed to waver, the door managed to budge.

"Let's go!"

With the door now opened, Danny drew back his Absol and hopped right onto his Luxray, perhaps inspired to try and ride his pokemon like a certain gym leader. As the two sped down the hallway, he glanced back and noticed a horde of Nihilego begin to close in on them.

"Guys, trouble on the right! Get yourselves ready to power through!"

The Goodra and Tyranitar under @micah 's command weakened one of the walls, Andrea Vaneau 's Tyranitar finishing the job, but it was on the very bottom floor of the large vessel. It would take them too long to carve a new path through the basement. Instead, @danny had the idea to fry the system. With the containment breached, Shalin and her Pokémon found themselves able to swim within the vessel's dense air, much like they were outside. With the Internet celebrity having sent out his Luxray, Shalin send out her Dragalge into the space that was becoming increasingly crowded with big Pokémon. "Pharika, use THUNDERBOLT!" Shalin ordered.

The multiple electric attacks shattered several panes of glass within the engine room. Then, just as suddenly as it started, the sirens stopped, the remaining monitors went blank, and it became pitch dark. With no power, the door's six locking panels were unable to remain in place, letting them leave the way they came. "What the..." Shalin gasped. She was glad she had taken video evidence of the ship's interior for illeana reyes as the others were boring a way through!

They had a new problem, though: a horde of jellyfish-like Pokémon unlike anything Shalin had ever seen. Now she wished she had brought Flit, her Yanmega, with her; she would have had a wonderful way to deal with them otherwise. She withdrew all her other Pokémon. "Faster, Kiara!" she cried, the lioness picking up the pace a little. Though it was clear they would make it outside before the horde caught up to them, they were gaining on the adventurers.

The moment she was outside, Shalin switched ride Pokémon to Sandy, her Flygon. "Everyone cover your ears!" she warned as the insectile dragon hummed skyward. She took a deep breath and put her earplugs in. Having learned from her experience, she figured this was the only place she could use the reckless technique she had in mind and not be seriously hurt in the process.

"Sandy, use BOOMBURST!"

The ground-type hovered above the center of the Ultra Beast horde, her wings shrieking. Even in the dense air of Ultra Deep Sea, her wings were still beating fast enough to be a blur. While her position between the Flygon's wings, as well as her earbuds, kept her safe from the sonic discharge, the vibration was just as throttling as it would have been on Hoenn. It made a Clanging Scales run on her Kommo-o seem like a strong massage by comparison.

While the destructive sonic wave wasn't as effective on the Nihilego as she'd like, it may have weakened them enough to either reconsider who they were hunting or let the others finish the job. Shalin certainly couldn't fight anymore, her aching body on the brink of unconsciousness. When she would come to outside the rift, she would do so knowing that the effects on the wings of her Pokémon were merely audiovisual.

while everyone was working together, micah thought of one simple question:[break]
'why not just teleport out?'[break]
truthfully, that was likely the easiest way to get out of this predicament - just not get involved in it at all and hit the escape key. even so, she had kept herself from doing so in case the others didn't have the same luxury. leave no man behind, and all that.[break]
"good job!" she nodded at the electric crew who managed to override the system, now allowing all of them to flee on their chosen mounts. the rapidash that micah was on illuminated the path she took, highlighting the silhouette of the see-through ultra beast. it glimmered and wavered, but it took up the space of the secondary passenger of micah's rapidash-based mad dash through the ship, trying to keep an eye on everyone else to see who may need help and if they all got out just fine.[break]
with her +1, she sighed a heavy breath of relief when the 'surface' was reached once more.[break]

Sadly, Andrea had no Electric-type moves at the ready, but Shaggy's Luxray and Shalin's Dragalge sufficed. The young PokéManiac still did her part by having Spoony cast a Calm Mind on Scoob, or rather Micah. We're using real names now.

With time running out, the group began their daring escape from the compromised vessel, a horde of Nihilego giving them hot pursuit. Regina fended them off, swatting the alien jellyfishes with her mighty Dragon Tail. "Let's get outta here!" The dragon-hooded girl yelled, partaking in the riding trend by mounting her trusty Tyrantrum.

Slowed down by a booming Boomburst courtesy of Shalin's Flygon, the Nihilego lost the humans, and soon refocused their efforts on escaping the ship themselves before the countdown reached zero. As if to answer Micah's internal question, after their pursuers were gone, Andrea had her Alakazam cast Teleport on everyone in order to cover the last stretch needed to get out of the rift for good.

Unbeknownst to them, the already bloated group had brought one extra friend back home. What would come out of it remained to be seen, but for now, they were glad to have survived by the skin of their teeth.
