Trees expanded as far as the eye could see. Tall, intimidating, and with expansive arms reaching over one another, each one offered coverage over the other, blanketing the entire city in its shade. Penelope kept to the bottom of it all, choosing to await by one of the older shops situated near the foot of it all.

Beside her, a small growlithe sat, making the occasional yap sound whenever another dog-like pokemon passed. Which was surprisingly frequent that afternoon.

Stuck between her arm and her chest was the agenda for the day, including not only what needed to be done, but the next steps for their plans to come to fruition. All she needed was for ms Melody Miro to hurry up!

Through the peaking beams of light slipping through the widespread branches of the forestry, Penelope smiled, her cheeks crinkling at each end of the curl. Hand resting at her side, she gave her yapping growlithe a small gesture, signaling him to join Exploud. He wouldn't be able to offer much help, but it would beat hovering at their side the entire time.

"What's lucky is that we were able to scope it out so fast."

No words were needed to begin their transition toward the dock. Their exchange of emails had already detailed that a ranger would be positioned near the mouth of a small path behind the city, through it they'd be able to reach the makeshift dock made to reach the newly apparated island.

Penelope caught and pocketed the clue with a sharp nod. That was one less thing to worry about.

"That shouldn't be a problem," She smiled at Melody, then turned toward the goat embroidered with blue and white. "If anything, it'll be a pleasure to share a trip over."

And just as she said that, a small boat propelled itself over to the dock, with a ranger at its rear, readied to carry them across the small strip of water.

Melody easily leaps onto the boat as she was well versed in things relating to boating. Benefits of growing up in lilycove. [break][break]

Cobalion steps onto the boat, it sways with his weight as she had a flashback to her trip with skyler dross and angelo vestri. "You know Cobalion, you could just. Wait." she said placing her hands on her hips and he sat his butt down on the boat.

Cobalion stares at Penelope for a rather long period of time, he hadn't spent much time around her yet so he was still wary of her presence. "Don't mind him. He's weird and likes to stare at people." she says as Melody tries to put Penelope at ease. The boat begins to chug along as the extra weight slowed them down a bit. [break][break]

"How have your...uhh...trips to the borders been?" she asked as Melody had split off from her original group to create a new one that was exploring the mecha kingdom to keep an eye on Hideo Kino. Not that she had mind, but she also didn't like the tricks on her mind that place had forced onto her.

She'd dealt with enough weirdos in her lifetime to manage with some legendary. Hands resting on either side of her tied thighs, Penelope levied her head back, letting the ocean's brine trickle into her nostrils and caress her face.

It was through this short trip they'll be entering the island to answer all their demands. It would've been a joyous occasion, had Melody Miro not ruined it with reminders of the borders.

"It's been rather...interesting." she says as they delve into the topic of mecha kingdom. [break][break]

"It seems like my songs have...powers there. They whole place is like a massive fairytale music box. I've been able to cause machines to rust, hold them in place and even restore them.." However she left out crucial details of falling victim to the songs influence. [break][break]

"Aside from that Eva Morales and Hideo Kino are fine...CIAN MAHER however...he's been acting weird." she mentions wondering if penny had any insight on it. "Oh." is all she really got as a response in the beginning. Why did they break up? [break][break]

If he was sad...it must have been her who did it, right? it only made sense. The managed to land on the island with little trouble, but the boat had metaphorically, and literally been rocked as melody jumps off the boat and onto the island. It was quiet, eeriely quiet, plant life was abundant but no pokemon lived here, it was all over grown. As if nothing had a chance to come with it. [break][break]

"So this is...mirage island huh?" she says out loud before diving right back into the conversation. "Soo....why?"

Silence devoured their question as the nose of their boat made contact with the rocky shores of their mirage island. Penelope's departure from the boat managed a more graceful note than Melody's had done.

Together, they made headway into its bustling plant life. Discovery hummed in the air with the blazing heat that swept over them.

"It just wasn't working," the councilwoman admitted with a sigh. Normally, with coworkers, she found no interest in divulging personal information. But, frankly, it'd felt nice to have someone to open up to. Someone without the prejudice that came from awareness. "I love CIAN MAHER , but he..."

"It felt like there was a disconnect ever since I joined the council. And that made things hard. Harder than I would've liked."
