his complaints aren’t much paid attention to by his sylveon, who is sitting with his eyes closed listening to the breeze. leyon turns to look at him and snarls.

”don’t look so fucking serene on me!” but the sylveon doesn’t budge and leyon finds himself letting out an annoyed huff and stomping his foot.

his sylveon snorts, because no he the fuck wasn't. he was bred through one of the most pristine eevee lines in all of the kalos region and he's proud of that.

But it was still kinda cute.

The next words out of the stranger’s mouth do, however, force his lips to bend into a smile.

“‘Bussin’?” he parrots, in an attempt at mimicking the accent, exactly, one eyebrow lifting incredulously. “Ah doon’t--,” he’s trying to fight back laughter, his own brogue leaking in thickly in his lapse of control-- "Ah'm-- what does that mean in this context, ah'm sorry?” It isn’t mocking or derisive-- instead, something far simpler, an innocent amusement born out of perplexion.

From a little ways off Phage burbles in alarm, the little Duosion’s green body flying like a snotball shot from a stuffed nose as something big and purple oozes along behind him. Phage does a lap around Fox, peeking out from behind his back, before leveling a psyshock at the Sliggoo.

Fox tosses a Pokeball at the stunned slug before it can bounce back. “Thank you fer using me as a meat shield, you bloody coward.”

watching the other become amused makes leyon scrunch his face up. naturally his first instinct is to take offense. then he allows himself to settle, watches the makeshift battle that kind of takes place, and otherwise looks bored out of his damn mind.[break][break]

"bussin'? uh," he wonders who doesn't know what bussin' means, but, decides maybe there's a language or social barrier here.[break][break]

"extremely great." he nods, deciding that's the best way to explain it.[break][break]

his sylveon walks up and takes a seat beside him, ribbons still playing hide & seek with the wild pokémon, trying to find fair types for his picky trainer. he could sense a glimmet but as it wasn't a fairy type to his senses, he ignored it.[break][break]

leyon figures, man he really nailed it.[break][break]

meanwhile his sylveon prepares a moonbeam for the source of the giant bolder, a wild stonjourner.[break][break]

leyon watches the blast of fairy energy head for the unsuspecting rock type. the golem fumbles and then ends up in a heap on the ground, a pile of unconscious rubble.[break][break]

leyon doesn't give two shits. he doesn't even thank his sylveon, who can luckily feel that leyon's grateful so he doesn't have to say it.[break][break]

“I’m just curious,” he amended, in case the other person think he was judging, as he hit the Lileep with a Pokeball.

hopefully the sylveon would find something useful. otherwise leyon was likely going to start getting cranky.[break][break]

his sylveon brings him back a cleffa in his mouth, dropping the baby. leyon wonders if he should just bap it with a ball, babies are complicated little fuckers though, so to be safe...[break][break]

leyon takes a few steps back and points at the confused baby. "moonbeam first man."[break][break]

sylveon looks at leyon like a sadistic swine, but obeys. the beam hits the baby in the back, causing it to cry and go tumbling forward. as the tears leave her eyes and she pitches a fit, leyon immediately throws a ball at the thing and winces.[break][break]

"what the hell that thing was so loud..."

“That they are,” he agreed, turning back to his blooms, as though remembering what he had been doing before this loudmouthed stranger had interrupted his work. “Lots of things are cute, though.”

He does frown when Leyon tells his Sylveon to moonbeam the baby Cleffa, one eyebrow arching up in a face of pure judgment.

“Maybe if you hadn’t shot it it would’ve stayed a little quieter,” he suggested, clicking his pen to make a note in his notebook.

Phage had gotten tired of being accosted from every angle and wandered away only to be chased back by a lumbering Coalossal. Fox winced and jumped in the beast’s path.

“Not the flowers, Phage!”

Instead of running his trainer over, Phage turned and zapped the Coalossal with psyshock. While it blinked and shook its head, Fox threw a Pokeball.

“Y’daft cow.”
