Tucked away by a placid lake, surrounded by a wooded thicket dappled with sunlight, there was a peaceful little ranch. It was quaint and quiet, save for the natural sounds of birds chirping, insects buzzing, and leaves rustling in the breeze. The scents of spring - blooming flowers and fresh grass - permeated the warm air. The entire scene looked like a postcard snapshot of some relaxing forest getaway.[break][break]
Which was ironic, considering the man who lived there.[break][break]
Delilah glided up the walkway, heels clicking on stone, until she was at the front door of the house. Behind the tall woman, an elegant Ariados crawled, surveying the landscape with her keen violet eyes. Against all odds, Delilah's assistant had managed to secure her two hours of privacy during what was otherwise a busy day full of meetings and appointments.[break][break]
She had been back in Hoenn for less than 24 hours and already she was dealing with a sensitive matter. Such was the fate of a woman who's brother was predictably unpredictable.[break][break]

Of course as soon as Matias had gotten placed under house arrest, Delly decides to show her face again. She was a bit resentful the woman had just up and vanished since she was one of the few 'siblings' among the very many of them who had treated her kindly. Hanging out with her in her room while she blabbered on about Pokémon and technology. [break][break]

"I wonder if fern will be upset we didn't tell him we're coming." she says out loud as they wait for him to open the door. "He'll probably be mad I took the day off for this." she mused out loud. [break][break]

She held a small little cake in her hands with the words written 'Sorry you're under house arrest'

Delilah's reunion with Yui had been bittersweet. Though her younger sister had acted outwardly delighted, Delilah knew her well enough to tell that, beneath the genuine joy, she had been holding back a measure of resentment. Guilt had burned through Delilah as a result.[break][break]
She ought to have called Yui more but the film industry didn't exactly allow for a lot of free time. Then the dome had prevented her from visiting. Still, she had done her favorite sister a disservice and she knew it. Unfortunately, there hadn't been much time to make it up to her yet; she'd have to deal with that later, once they were done with Matias.[break][break]
On the subject of FERNANDO SILPH, she made no comment. She would pay her respects to the heir once she was more settled. Surely he would understand that this matter took precedence.[break][break]
It's not like he would have come with them anyway.[break][break]
"Matias," She smiled back at him even though his initial friendliness had been directed at Yui. She entered his home without waiting for him to officially invite them it. "Don't you know? I booked this trip because a certain brother of mine was getting married." She reached into her purse, pulling out the original "save the date".[break][break]
"It seems said wedding will no longer be taking place," she continued, and though her tone was concerned, her eyes were scrutinizing. Why is that, Matias? was the unspoken question.

"Glad your Silph tier list is a sensible one." she says as she casually sticks her tongue out at Delilah Silph. [break][break]

She nuzzles up on him to say hello as her hands were preoccupied carrying the cake and her porygon is released from her phone and buzzes to greet Matias. [break][break]

She had heard of the scuffle between Eva Morales and MATIAS SILPH through the grape vine, or more like, Athena did. But she didn't really care to know the details about it since it was more personal information than it was discovery so she let it lay. [break][break]

She's familiar with the layout of the home already, having been there a couple of times and helped herself to the kitchen knifes to start cutting the cake slices. "Come now, no need to give him grief for it Delilah. I'm sure they had their reasons for going their own ways. Besides, it's not like any of our pockets would hurt from buying a plane ticket." "How have you been Matty? Bored out of your mind?" She wondered if she could fiddle with his ankle braclet, not like he'd let her.

"What? And leave before cake?" Delilah scoffed, following Yui into the kitchen. She slid onto a barstool at the counter, Astarte climbing up onto her lap. Delilah set her purse beside her on a second stool, then folded her hands under her chin and watched Yui work. Matias was a looming presence, but she tried to ignore the weight of his gaze. He'd always been prickly with her, which was, of course, ridiculous - couldn't he see that she had his best interests in mind, as she did with all of their family?[break][break]
"The media will always spin things to an overly dramatic degree," Delilah commented lightly. She would know, she spent the majority of her time with that crowd.[break][break]
The cake really did look good. A few bites wouldn't hurt, even if she was supposed to be following her nutritionist's strict guidelines based on her upcoming photoshoot schedule.[break][break] "Which is why I want to hear your side of the story. Why the house arrest?"

"Yeah yeah, what happen?" she says as Yui was curious to know exactly what caused the league to lock up such a powerful asset at home..in time out nontheless. She cuts the cake slices for Delilah and Matias, handing them each their own slices. "It's chocolate cake with vanilla frosting." [break][break]

Yes, she almost replied. But this was a diplomatic visit; she had no intentions of further riling her brother. So instead, she graciously accepted her slice of cake and held her tongue.[break][break]
The cake was good.[break][break]
"Yui, did you make this?" Delilah asked, incredulous. It wasn't that she thought her younger sister wholly incapable of producing such a cake, but, well, Yui was known for coding not cooking.[break][break]
As she chewed another bite of the decadent chocolate dessert, she couldn't help but wonder about the timing of this...training accident. There was something suspicious about all of it - the called-off wedding, the house arrest, the clash between two legendary Pokémon...[break][break]
"Matias, are you...allright?" It was strange to feel concerned for a man who acted as if he were untouchable, but even mountains crumbled under enough pressure. Matias did have a heart, somewhere deep down...beneath the burning ambition and violent passion. He had just broken up with his long-time fiancée, the supposed love of his life. From the sounds of it, the parting had been messy.[break][break]
I ought to check on Eva too, after this.

"No way, I still cant cook. I didn't make it" she says as she swings her feet underneath the table enjoying every moment of eating the cake she had bought. [break][break]

"No, you wouldn't." as she places a piece of the cake into her mouth with a heartwarming smile was painted across her face as she enjoyed it. Yet it quickly shifted as her gaze became much more serious and she stares at Matias as she began to resemble FERNANDO SILPH's gaze a little bit as the man had always been a cosntant influence on her. She had always wanted his approval so she had adopted some of his rather....less desireable traits.

"That's exactly why I don't believe the story you told the league. Your desire to dominate everything around you would make you want to have complete and utter control over groudon. Or am I wrong?" as the gaze held her ever familiar curious gaze. "Tell us, what really happened?"

"Your feelings are valid, Matias," she sighed into her fork, savoring the final crumbs of the decadent dessert. "But the behavior you describe does not sound like the Eva Morales I am familiar with. Granted, I have been away for some time..." She glanced at Yui. The younger woman could perhaps fill in the gaps.[break][break]
Delilah wasn't a fool. Two people who had been madly in love - supposedly - did not suddenly try and kill one another with powerful legendary Pokémon out of the blue. Something triggered this, and he was dancing around it, the avoidance just another sign that the whole truth had not yet been revealed.[break][break]
"Is there someone else?" Delilah guessed, keeping her tone neutral. "Did one of you..." Cheat?[break][break]
She was familiar with such a narrative; after all, plenty of the movies she'd acted in had featured the ups and downs of romantic attachments. Someone cheated, there was a fight and a breakup, and eventually, a reconciliation. Often, the two people got back together, their relationship stronger than ever.[break][break]
Unless it was a tragedy, of course.

Her face goes from one so similar to fernando's to her own expression. "Oh matty.." she says as she instantly regrets her words. She rushes in to give him a hug. Trying to lower him to her level so she can put her hands on his head. "Shhhh it's ok. I'm sorry." He was too damn tall compared to her.[break][break]

She was curious as to what happen, but she knew he was hurting, matias didn't really let his walls down when it came to certain subjects and being locked away in a place that served as a constant reminder of what happen couldn't have been good to him. [break][break]

"Delilah!" she cuts in as Delilah asks him an extremely pointed question. "That's none of your business. It's not like he even owes you that answer!" she points out "Also, being nosy is my turf. Back off!" [break][break]

"...was it her?" she says as curiosity was hard for her to keep suppressed.
