Needless to say, he was getting a bit pissed.[break][break]

Following a trail to no avail would only make it a natural occurrence, after all— especially in the tightly scheduled context he was stuck in. Though plans and missions on behalf of Rocket had been something he’d become long since used to, it still proved to be a hassle to deal with once every so often.[break][break]

Yet there he was, still bustling on as usual.[break]
No familiar face in sight, but before long, he did find himself meeting eyes with some…guy.[break][break]

Definitely not a fellow Rocket member; not unless he was stupid enough to do his job completely undisguised. He hadn’t quite looked the part to be a higher ranking League official, but even then, he hadn’t looked to be some unlucky citizen that stumbled their merry ass in, either. Someone in between, then, he figured— but either way, they weren’t with the group, so they needed to get out.[break][break]

And so with a low, impatient sigh, the man tapped his fingers a duo of capsules upon his belt, calling forth a Tyranitar and Drakloak from their Pokeballs before calling out across the clearing—his voice booming and distorted through the filter of his mask—towards the other person afar.[break][break]

”Dunno who ya are, Cuz,” he roared, glancing towards the two Pokemon by him before giving a quick nod towards the presumed League members, ”but this really ain’t the kinda place to be takin’ a stroll. Gonna have t’ask ya to leave. Now~.”[break][break]

’Ask,’ being a pretty loose and inaccurate term, to say the least.[break][break]

It was hard to justify it as such when both reptilians are at the ready, glaring and ready to charge, while initiating a Rock Slide and Dragon Dance, with the latter being flung towards the selfsame trainer without so much as a moment’s worth of hesitation.[break][break]

...Goddamn, that’s such a League thing to say, he thought to himself, his face contorting softly as he watched the trainer send his own Pokemon out.[break][break]

The Twister caught the Rock Slide within its furor, leaving several, smaller rocks and rubble within its bounds— though to say that the attack, in itself, had proven to be useless would’ve been the equivalent of claiming a premature victory. The Rocket watched as the rocks became eviscerated for just a moment before sighing and taking a few steps forward, tapping the Tyranitar in passing all the while.[break][break]

They shared a brief glance. He nodded.[break]
The beast simply roared once more, using the momentum from the Twister to fling the remaining rocks—as well as several more that broke off nearby—towards the skies, aiming for the Salamence and its trainer with another Rock Slide.[break][break]

The mafioso rose his hand as the two, skyborne assailants soared above, firing bullets alongside the rocks at them as the Dragapult by him set its sights upon the Kingdra before disappearing with a Phantom Force.[break][break]

This dude's just gotta be a walkin' cliche, man...[break][break]

No mind to him, either way, though— save for the growing sense of annoyance he felt brewing within him with each word shouted down at him. It was just heroism, heroism, heroism— and for what? Some sort of personal hero complex? For the greater good?[break][break]

Whatever it was, it fell on deaf ears as the Rocket just gave a low, groaning sigh under his breath, watching carefully upon the rocks coated betwixt sparks and flame before they were hurled back down. Already lithe on his feet, he began to sprint to the side in order order to avoid the fiery rain upon him, calling for his Tyranitar to follow in tow.[break][break]

For the most part, she seemed unscathed— but a roar and a notable singe upon her stony scales had been all he needed to see to know she hadn't evaded all of the onslaught.[break][break]

Nevertheless, the Leaguer had so helpfully passed the metaphorical ball back, and so with that, the Tyranitar merely glared across all the wreckages before him; enflamed, and scorching, and ready to be weaponized. It was three for three, after all—it would be odd to assume it wouldn't be, by that point—as she gave another roar again, quaking the ground and lifting the flaming stones up again.[break][break]

Another Rock Slide, that time engulfed in flames, as the Drakloak briefly manifested into the physical plane again— that time directly above the Kingdra it sought out as it floated within the calm of its vortex. Free and untouched by the torrent above, it properly swung itself towards the beast with a touch of spectral energy.[break][break]

Just another skirmish before he moved on. That was the plan.[break]
It was always the plan in some way or another.[break][break]

Plans, however, always proved to find themselves ran askew, however— and those moments, altogether, seemed to be no exception as the battle raged on. Though the mass of flaming rocks seemed to evade his intended target, the man still held the gun he'd armed himself up and towards the ever-changing and molding skies above them all, firing off towards the Leaguer and his flying companion as they neared closer and closer.[break][break]

He'd only spared a moment to glance about his surroundings, but all in all, a moment had been all he needed to catch the faintest wind of a familiar figure; one that seemed to tense up before immediately sprinting off into the unknown again upon noticing and recognizing him amidst the chaos.[break][break]

Them.[break][break]

Still around in this goddamn hellscape, and still more than intent on running tail, it seemed. For a moment, the Rocket glared to and fro between the ones he'd engaged with, as well as the one running off once more. He'd been quick to debate within his head, only barely noticing his Drakloak, after barely managing to lunge forth at the Kingdra before her with a swift Dragon Rush, be blasted from the vortex.[break][break]

He noted her scrambling in pain for a short while, giving faint, stubborn whimpers and mewls before ultimately allowing her head to rest.[break]
He glanced around once more before clicking his tongue.[break][break]

"Fuck today, for fuck's sake..." he hissed under his breath, immediately recalling both of his companions—wounded and otherwise, alike—before firing off at the Salamence a few more times at its wings.[break][break]

In those same moments, he sent out another Pokemon—a Scizor—before giving it a foreign tongued command to fly off and after the selfsame target that originally led them into the dreamscape he'd grown so vengeful against.[break][break]
