His breath comes out in thick puffs of white. He waits, watching for his companion of the day. "You good?" he called out, smiling as he took a moment to look around and check the primal reader in his hands. "We should be getting close to where it showed up." he added, nodding over at the many statues surrounding them. Nearly in the middle of their battlefield, but still a way away form Kyurem's original attack. [break][break]

"Let's see if we can get a clue as to why that bastard's so big huh?" he murmured to himself as he turned on the little handheld and turned up the volume. A steady, soft, almost nonexistent beeping started up to show it was online. "Did I calibrate this thing?" he said to himself as he tried not to look into the eyes of a horrified Stantler, staring up at an invisible threat.

"freezin' my dick off here!"

a shivering, but fashionably dressed for a winter outing, nicolas arrived onto the scene. still new and in the process of catching up with all that's happened in hoenn. the fresh rocket would make his way to a random pokemon encased within its eternal, icy prison. "damn, that's some strong ice. i wonder if its still alive." it would poke at the frozen carcass that remained to be nothing more than a hollow corpse.

"calibrate?" was that something you could cook? nicolas turned to face his senior rocket member. staring at the item in mint frost's hand, a small head would come to pop out of the front of nicolas's winter coat, "yo, pika-pi, what's the happs?" he said with a smile. it would seem the small electric-type had been resting peacefully within its owner's chest. patting his head, nicolas would ask his senior, "what're even lookin' for? i'm just here to play bodyguard, so don't expect me to use my brain too much." nicolas would point to his own noggin while rubbing his pikachu's head.

"It's not even windy today!" Mint returned, laughing at the guy before stopping what he was doing and looking for a specific pokeball. In a flash, a fluffy cream and orange dog hopped out, letting out a yawn and looking up at Mint and Nicolas. "You can pick her up if you want. She puts out heat like crazy." he said as the Flareon laid down on the snow, already melting a bit of it as she laid her head on her paws. [break][break]

"Mmm probably not...I feel like that'd be even shittier for the things stuck inside." he said with a shrug. He tilted his head towards the grunt and the Pikachu, plucking out a treat from his pocket and offering it for the little rat. He tosses another to the Flareon's feet. He moves the primal detector a bit away from the meat head frowning. "Dooon't- it's not a gameboy." he said before looking down at the screen, still blank. The range on these were a little shit huh? [break][break]

"It's my primal detector. I can walk around with it like a metal detector and it tells me if there's primal energy around." He explained showing Nicolas how it worked once he was sure the guy wasn't just going to yank it from him. "Pssshaw, nothing out here but graves and migrating ice types." he said wit ha laugh. "But! I'll be sure to ask for help when I get tired of walking." he added more than happy to use his 'bodyguard' to carry him back to base. "Anyway, this is still isn't close enough we gotta get to the center of Kyurem's...whatever the hell this attack was." he said not sure what to name it.

"toasty, mmm!"

he could feel the flareon's heat from a few feet away. while enjoying the newfound warmth, pikachu merrily accepted the treat. massaging his pokemon's head, he would repeat with curiosity, "primal reading? i'm guessin' this is related to some science-y shit that's out of my league." if he wasn't breaking something, he had no interest in learning about it.

"center of it?" he asked with confusion. "the hell d'you mean by that? you got a death wish or somethin'." was he trying to find the source of what caused this? nicolas didn't exactly sign up for a suicide mission. "i don't know what a 'kyu-rum' is exactly, but..." he clearly didn't read the file report on the pokemon or what caused this place to become a winter wonderland, "...don't go draggin' into some crazy shit, team lead."

the last thing he wanted to do was get into trouble for something captain mint frost got themselves into. how would he even explain that one of their own got into a frozen popsicle stick? looking at mint, he would imagine the individual as such. "wait that sounds good actually..." his stomach rustled at the thought. shaking his head, he would add a question after, "what's at the center?"

"Yeah, it's some type of energy you find in mega evolution...I think??" he said with a shrug. "Honestly, oscar clayton is better explaining it than I am." He takes the lead again, despite his partner's reluctance to get anywhere near that. [break][break]

"It'll be fine, Kyurem's been sucked into some alternate Hoopa dimension or whatever." Mint said, waving off the grunt's concerns. "If you get scawwed, Mint Fwost will pwotect'chu!" he added, turning to wink at Nicolas and give him a peace sign before turning back to his detector as it beeped once, and then waited a loooooooong time before beeping again. "Ugh, still nothing." he murmured as he kept going. [break][break]

"Should just be where the beast was standing when it ass blasted us with ice. I think if the snow is cold enough to last indefinitely, and change the whole landscape, there might be some lingering energy- radiation in the center." he said. [break][break]

"Hope you weren't planning on having kids." he snorted, but he doesn't clarify if it was an actual concern or not. His Flareon paces close to Nicolas, knowing Mint had a much better handle of the cold than most. It was his specialty after all.

energy? mega evolution? all of this scientific stuff was beyond him. as long as he had his current three he was satisfied with his strength. though, if there was more to acquire, maybe he should think about trying to grow them? looking at his pikachu, nicolas would contemplate.[break]

and then his train of thought was ruined from the cutesy energy that thrown at him like a truck. "you're gonna be the reason i commit war crimes." nicolas murmured to himself. he continued to follow mint frost. though his expression once shifted to a look of disgust, it would come to be nonchalant..for but a brief moment as the mention of radiation had been brought up.

"what!?" he'd toss his pikachu into the air and into a pile of snow from afar. "you're sayin' this place could be littered with that shit!?" he'd begin to panic, "my face!" he'd feel his left eye, "i can already feel a third eye developing---oh, wait, that's just my eyeball." but still that exactly didn't sit right with him! though, he'd pause, "the thought of gaining superpowers from radiation exposure would be pretty cool..." he contemplated on deciding whether he should panic or except his fate? there were too many options.
