sceptile would receive the powerful from gallade. raising his guard, sceptile would block his face to prevent it from receiving any detrimental blow. though, he would be met with ferocious assault.

as their battle proceeded, so would their trainers. nicolas, absorbing the information, would take notice of the mist that slowly began to gather. with a cheeky grin, he knew what he had to do next. "maybe because you want someone to understand you," nicolas casually spoke. "maybe now i get it, i understand why you're so torn over these corp--..." he would pause, before rephrasing himself, "...these friends of yours." nicolas's tone became melancholic...

with a widened grin, he'd say, "it's because you feel like you failed to save your brother all over again." sceptile would use DOUBLE TEAM to split himself into two. with confusion, they would continuously move about whilst encircling the gallade. with LEAF BLADE active, the "pair" would cut gallade all over his front and back with haste. as their battle proceeded, the focus would return to nicolas, "you're a nice guy, so i'll be real with you. what happened to your brother is natural. he wanted to play hero, to change the world. like them," nicolas would gesture over to the many bodies, "they lost the game. isn't it exhausting trying to play the hero when the world is just so unfair?" nicolas's tone would come to be somber once more.

"it wasn't fair for you to lose your brother, so let me ask you this: who do you blame? the league or yourself? i mean you all put yourselves on the line for this region so much, but who's willing to put themselves on the line for you?" suddenly, Michael Navidson 's vision began to feel hazy. as nicolas spoke it was as if Michael Navidson could hear him from one location to the next, it was like an echo. "who protects the heroes when it all just becomes too much?"

hearing the sound of water. nicolas, before he could finish looking back, would come to be met with an unexpected assault. he and the pikachu, together, tumbled. standing up quickly in both awe and shock, along with his pikachu, the pair would look at each other.

"shit!"

just his luck. he thought what he'd been witnessing before interrupting was an illusion, but it was real. talk about an unlucky draw. "this hag is a special-class, the one we were warned about." if that was her doing, which he could still barely believe, then he and pikachu were in for another workout. and this one was going to be a harder fight than the last.

"you wanna brawl, saggy tits. i'm gonna put you old timers to bed ahead of schedule, get'em pikachu!"

wiping his chin. he would grin as the woman would come to call forth her chosen pokemon. pikachu vs. lopunny, a battle that could go either way. "hit it with a thunderbolt, pikachu!" without delay, pikachu would release a surge electricity toward the lopunny.

sceptile's DETECTion would allow for the pokemon to clash with Michael Navidson 's gallade. blade to blade, they would come to be locked in place. "hey, i left some of them alive!" though, he would ponder for a brief moment, adding, "and the others don't have to worry about that now. considerin' that was cut short and all, right?"

he'd let out a laugh. "quit playin' around, sceptile." nicolas ordered.

as Michael Navidson 's gallade and nicolas's sceptile remained bound in place, blade to blade. sceptile's grass-like blades began to glow a green color. this was a tell sign for gallade to react as the pokemon saw fit, for it was an incidcator that sceptile was preparing his next attack: leaf blade.

while that was happening, nicolas would say, "you seem a bit broken up about all of this. it's just a hunch, but..." he'd impishly grin, "this ain't your first time losin' a losin' a friend?" mist born from the interdream realm began to slowly form, gathering in the middle of both their battle and discussion.

nicolas watched in awe at the newcomer's reaction. like a teardrop, blood fell underneath nicolas's eye. it was from a cut received from the early battle. nicolas would wipe the blood away with his thumb, sighing with relief as he had thought, that for a moment, he felt remorseful.

but that all went away with a quick smirk. nicolas, chuckling, had little remorse for what he did. "ah man, you almost got me there!" a hearty laugh escaped him as he held his stomach at the male's reaction toward his fallen comrade. "...enough for me to pay for their funeral." with his response given. nicolas, simultaneously, revealed a capsule sized pokeball between his index and middle finger. enlarging it with a simple press of the button, he would toss the ball onto the battlefield. a flash of light, emerging from the ball, would then proceed to spit out a sceptile.

"you wanna play hero so bad? i'll make sure to write 'hero boy' on your tombstone."

energy? mega evolution? all of this scientific stuff was beyond him. as long as he had his current three he was satisfied with his strength. though, if there was more to acquire, maybe he should think about trying to grow them? looking at his pikachu, nicolas would contemplate.[break]

and then his train of thought was ruined from the cutesy energy that thrown at him like a truck. "you're gonna be the reason i commit war crimes." nicolas murmured to himself. he continued to follow mint frost. though his expression once shifted to a look of disgust, it would come to be nonchalant..for but a brief moment as the mention of radiation had been brought up.

"what!?" he'd toss his pikachu into the air and into a pile of snow from afar. "you're sayin' this place could be littered with that shit!?" he'd begin to panic, "my face!" he'd feel his left eye, "i can already feel a third eye developing---oh, wait, that's just my eyeball." but still that exactly didn't sit right with him! though, he'd pause, "the thought of gaining superpowers from radiation exposure would be pretty cool..." he contemplated on deciding whether he should panic or except his fate? there were too many options.

"thunder wave."

a beam of energy surged in a single wave. the wave wasn't powerful enough to paralyze them for it served as a warning. the electricity from the thunder wave was used to cancel out the healing water. with a hand in his pocket and a smirk upon his face. the rocket grunt donning a purple bandanna around his left bicep eyed the pair from afar.

"sorry to interrupt your date, but this is as far as you go grandma and grandpa." a masculine voice would emerge. nicolas, together with his pikachu and sceptile at his side, eyed the duo. in his non-pocketed hand was a random league body that he would toss their way. "bought you a present, though! don't worry, they're still alive. i'm not a killer or anythin'." he'd come to fall upon his butt to let out a sigh of relief.

"ahhh, i'm beat."

he nonchalantly spoke, "you two got any water on you? or somethin' to eat?" nicolas would proceed to rub his stomach, "i'm so hungry. fighting works up an appetite..." he'd then take notice of GIDEON GRAVES 's wounds. "oh man, you don't look so good. you mind not dying in front of me? that'll be such a total vibe killer, dude." the rocket grunt raised a hand to lazily wave them off. "anyway, i just got out of one big battle. i don't think i need to get into another one right now." as long as they didn't try to get in rocket's way.

"i'm just here to be an obstacle, don't make this any difficult then it should grandma." speaking toward skyler dross , she looked to be the healthiest between the pair. the last thing he wanted to do was beat up the elderly.

he could feel the flareon's heat from a few feet away. while enjoying the newfound warmth, pikachu merrily accepted the treat. massaging his pokemon's head, he would repeat with curiosity, "primal reading? i'm guessin' this is related to some science-y shit that's out of my league." if he wasn't breaking something, he had no interest in learning about it.

"center of it?" he asked with confusion. "the hell d'you mean by that? you got a death wish or somethin'." was he trying to find the source of what caused this? nicolas didn't exactly sign up for a suicide mission. "i don't know what a 'kyu-rum' is exactly, but..." he clearly didn't read the file report on the pokemon or what caused this place to become a winter wonderland, "...don't go draggin' into some crazy shit, team lead."

the last thing he wanted to do was get into trouble for something captain mint frost got themselves into. how would he even explain that one of their own got into a frozen popsicle stick? looking at mint, he would imagine the individual as such. "wait that sounds good actually..." his stomach rustled at the thought. shaking his head, he would add a question after, "what's at the center?"

at first there was nothing but darkness. all that you could hear was but the song of water and the hymn of bubbles. you'd try to speak, but a simple glug was all that you could utter. your body, barely moving, felt as if it were being pulled upward toward a surface yet met with heavy pressure. as you gently opened your gaze, a white light would come to unveil itself above you.

as you, Michael Navidson, found yourself floating in a body of water. you would come to be met by a man (@niclolas), a rocket grunt, unbeknownst to you. he had been sitting pretzel-style staring into vastly shifting sky above them. watching as there were others being transported into this plane of existence: THE INTERDREAM ZONE.

beside him was his sceptile casually minding its own business sleeping and a pikachu resting in his lap. nicolas would look to the newcomer with a smile, "yo, you're up!" standing on top of the rock with a single hand in his pocket. nicolas's pikachu would come to place itself upon his shoulder. the electric-type would make a taunting face toward Michael Navidson.

"cálmate, 'chu." nicolas told the pikachu, "sorry about that, he's not exactly friendly as you could tell."

nicolas would gesture to something that was not the area, but rather who were all in it. Michael Navidson was not the only one floating within the body of water. there were others, a majority primarily league cadets. they were all unconscious, some permanently unresponsive compared to others. with a simple yawn, nicolas would speak once more, "sorry about the bodies. boss's order and all that, couldn't exactly go easy on them." he sheepishly grinned while massaging the nape of his neck.

"i hope these people weren't your friends or anything, that'd be ass cheeks to wake up to."

"freezin' my dick off here!"


a shivering, but fashionably dressed for a winter outing, nicolas arrived onto the scene. still new and in the process of catching up with all that's happened in hoenn. the fresh rocket would make his way to a random pokemon encased within its eternal, icy prison. "damn, that's some strong ice. i wonder if its still alive." it would poke at the frozen carcass that remained to be nothing more than a hollow corpse.

"calibrate?" was that something you could cook? nicolas turned to face his senior rocket member. staring at the item in mint frost's hand, a small head would come to pop out of the front of nicolas's winter coat, "yo, pika-pi, what's the happs?" he said with a smile. it would seem the small electric-type had been resting peacefully within its owner's chest. patting his head, nicolas would ask his senior, "what're even lookin' for? i'm just here to play bodyguard, so don't expect me to use my brain too much." nicolas would point to his own noggin while rubbing his pikachu's head.

his gaze would come to narrow as nicolas would fall deep into thought. thinking about the where for a brief moment. "can't really say i had a home. never really been a 'one-way' kind of man."

upon finishing his response was the call of music. he could hear a crowd cheering nearby. to their surprise, the pair would stumble onto a live performance by an unknown artist. there was a small stage where it would seem to be an event going on tonight for those with musical talent and a desire to share said talent with the people of slateport. removing his arm from over his associate. nicolas, without realization, would grab the man by his hand and pull him toward the scene in order to get a better look up close.

"now this is more my kind of scene. if i had to answer your question," nicolas would get closer to his ear in order for him to be heard, "my home is where the music flows!" he didn't make much sense right now. but this place was starting to feel like his home already. "so, tell me, what's your real name, sobble!" he'd ask his associate. "you don't want me to keep callin' you that, do you?"

tonight was about to be an adventure, after all. if, by some chance, they were to get separated. nicolas would like to remember his name for the future. especially if, by some fated chance, they were to see each other again.

as he spoke nicolas listened. while listening, his eyes would scan the individual's lips. the cadence in his words, hesitance, and soft tone captured the rocket punk's attention. his narrow gaze would then examine the entirety of his face; a smirk having formed, nicolas would lightly chortle.

"i'm gonna call you 'sobble', 'kay?" he'd use the arm over the boy's shoulder to pat the top of their head before placing it back around him. looking ahead as they would begin to walk, nicolas would continue, "your like what i'd imagine the human form of it to look," he would then laugh, adding, "it's pretty fuckin' adorable, dude!" nicolas continued to laugh heartily.

"i don't think you want me to be a tour guide, mano. i might get you into somethin' you can't get out of." he had a way with getting himself into sticky situations. the last thing he'd need is for this guy to slow him down. though, taking another look, how could someone abandon something so small and innocent? "so, sobble, you said you've only been here for a week? where'd you come from, flaco?" man was he giving this guy a bunch of nicknames. it was just too easy.
