Temp sits in the middle, bandage in hand. The upper part of his combat body suit is off, revealing his bare chest and arms. Blood dots bandages as he wraps them around his stomach; clearly a wound from a previous battle. Unlike Elinor Anderson, who had yet to call out a pokemon, Temp wasn't alone. A Zarude hovered over him protectively, eyes searching the horizon and nose flaring as he scented the air. Looking for any signs of danger.[break][break]

Bongo spots Elinor before Temp does.[break][break]

The Zarude shrieks, hefting up a massive rock from the ground and hurls it at the woman. It will swing wide, a warning shot- but they know they aren't alone.

It took a short moment before Elinor realized what was heading her way.

But when she did, she jumped out of the way as quickly as her human legs allowed her.

She looked at the huge rock that had been thrown her way. Clearly the work of a Pokémon. For a short moment she considered perhaps it was a friendly warning shot fired by another League member thinking she came to attack…

But then the Paranoia pushed those thoughts away. This realm did not allow for such happenstance. No, this was malicious. This was an attack.

She might be tired, but she wasn’t about to let this go unpunished.

She popped her Pokéball open and an Eelektross jumped out. It looked agitated, ready for combat.

“Eele, return fire over there.” She gestured toward the outpost she hadn’t fully reached yet. She saw movements there now.

The Eelektross nodded. A shimmering aura covered the Eelektross for a moment before countless rocks shot into the air as a veritable ROCK SLIDE would rain down upon those who dared throw the first stone.

When Bongo throws the first stone, Temp pauses in what he's doing to give the Zarude a curious look. But he hadn't noticed Elinor Anderson, had no idea she was there. It could have been anything; Bongo was more prone to sudden violence than most of his pokemon. The general paranoia of the realm most likely did little to help the neurotic ape.[break][break]

Then the rocks came crashing down. Temp narrowly ducked out of the way; only avoiding getting crushed because Bongo took a brunt of the stones for him.[break][break]

"Motherfucker." Was hissed under his breath. He'd scraped up his shoulder. Snarling, Temp started to quickly shrug his clothes back on as he took up a more defensive position. "Bongo, blind 'em."[break][break]

Shaking off the stones, Bongo grunted through the pain and shook out his fur. Artificial sunlight grew sudden and blinding overhead, heating up the area as well as illuminating it. Temp only saw vague movement- but while the sunlight grew bright he flung a Scattershot, hoping to catch the attacker off guard.

Elinor hurried closer and closer through the cover of the Rock’s crashing down upon her victim.

But not long after, the sun grew blinding. The heat grew worse.

And then the bang that followed sent Elinor flying in duck and cover position in surprise, as she thought an attack fell upon them.

But then she realized she felt no pain nor did it seem like Eele did.

Must’ve been a scatter bang. But two can play at that game. She reminded herself.

Elinor retrieved a scatter bang of her own and threw it hoping to elicit a similar response.

“Eele, Thunderbolt.”

Electricity crackled for a moment around the Eelektross before the powerful burst of lightning would rain down upon their victims, at least if the Eelektross aimed correctly.

Crackles and sparks rained down first, causing Temp to wince. Covering his eyes, he snarled. Damn, guess two could play at that game![break][break]

Then the first bolt of lightning rained down, a near miss, and Temp grit his teeth. It was a good thing he had borrowed some fodder from the Rocket reserves. A pokeball was thrown into the air, releasing a Hitmonlee.[break][break]

Elinor Anderson would get to watch the fine show of it soaking up the stray lighting and thunder. Then falling to the ground as a charred husk of what it once was.[break][break]

Temp sneered at the smell but clicked his tongue.[break][break]

Bongo exploded forward with a shriek, surging on all fours to close the gap between him and whoever was attacking. A Power Whip shot from his hand, sudden and quick, hoping to ensnare and pull towards him. Maybe even crush if it was a pokemon.

From Elinor’s position she saw something struck by the Thunderbolt. It looked vaguely humanoid, and for a moment she considered if she had struck the trainer.

Then she heard a click and figured the only thing charred was a Pokémon. An unfortunate soul lost to the whims of an evil master.

She would have said a prayer for it, if her Rocket opponent had afforded her the time.

But he did not. The shriek announced the approaching Zarude.

Eele began to gather electricity for a powerful discharge. But in standing still to do so, she fell victim to the POWER WHIP. The vine quickly wrapped itself around Eele’s chest, tightening immediately. Though the Eelektross tried to resist using all the power it could muster, the Zarude’s force was too great. A loud audible crack escaped into the air.

Elinor was left to watch in horror as the last gasp of air was pushed out when Zarude pulled the now dead lifeless corpse back to it.

“EELE!” Elinor shrieked in anger, disbelief, and horror all combined into one disturbing cacophony of emotions as she tried to jump onto the lifeless body before it was pulled away, but it was too late, she only managed to land on the ground where the body had been. While this wasn’t the first death today, this one hit the hardest.

All she could see as she got back onto her feet was one familiar face.

The former Pacifidlog Gym Leader… The very same Gym Leader that she had used Eele to win against.

Her heart pumped harder and harder, her chest tightened as it grew harder to breathe. Anger clouded her mind and her vision.



She wanted him dead, dead, dead, dead, dead, dead, dead, dead, dead, dead. Necrozma had taken her Salamence from her, and now Tempest Quinn had stolen something from her of equal value, and he was going to pay.

She summoned her Aggron.

It looked eager for a fight, even if it was a bit tired.

“Gron… He killed Eele!” She pointed at Tempest Quin.

The Metallic Behemoth roared enraged by the news just like its trainer. It summoned all the power it could muster for the biggest possible attack it could perform. Rocks formed together in a humongous boulder as the Aggron sent the Z-move: CONTINENTAL CRUSH at the filthy Rocket and his Pokémon.

The Z-Move was powerful and Bongo was already tired from all the battles of the day. Yet, he clung on. Just barely. Panting and wheezing on the ground, the great ape pokemon would glower up at the Aggron with hatred in his eyes. If it had been anyone else at any other time, Elinor Anderson might have thought she had won.[break][break]

Rocket didn't play fair.[break][break]

The sound of two more pokeballs releasing. A flurry of black flame surged at the Aggron, sticking more like lava than flame if it hit. The Flareon that released it was strange- fur dark in color and with a wildness in her eyes. She strut forward and sniffed at now lifeless body of Eele- then leaned in and started to sink sharp flesh into the pokemon's body. Taking a meal with sick crunches.[break][break]

The flame was followed, quick, by an arrow of water. Harsh and on the ground, a Kabutops would try and slam into the Aggron with a Liquidation. Drawing closer not just to it's enemy- but also to Elinor Anderson. The sharp blades of the ancient pokemon were already stained red with dried blood. Temp had not been kind in this war.[break][break]

Yet this time he doesn't whistle for Elinor to be beheaded as so many nameless NPCs had been this battle.[break][break]

"Elinor Anderson..." Temp whistles. A surge of green comes from Bongo, the Zarude giving a Jungle Healing. While the ape still pants, wounds do knit together and he manages to pull himself to his feet. Weakened but holding on. He hangs by Temp's side like a bodyguard. It also works to invigorate his other two pokemon and even himself.[break][break]

"I can take you alive or take your head. Make your choice."[break][break]

It would be the only kindness he would allow her.

For a short moment they thought victory was assured. The haze of anger lessened if only slightly. The world seemed clearer, and with clarity came a realization. The Monkey hadn’t been defeated.

And More Pokémon had taken to the field.

A flurry of flames surged at the Aggron. Fatigue prevents it from shooting up a barrier to protect itself. The flames licked hungrily, and stuck to his metal skin as lava. He growled and roared in pain as he tried to wipe off the flames. But little did it help.

Luckily an arrow of water hit him square on as the Kabutops slammed into the Aggron with its Liquidation. Aggron fell to his knees. A hit like that, sustained earlier might not have meant much. But now, several battles later and it was all starting to add up.

Elinor was caught in equal panic as she saw the vicious Flareon bite into her beloved Eele’s lifeless corpse. “Stop… STOP THAT LEAVE HER BODY ALONE!” Elinor screamed almost pleadingly as she was about to run over there.

But the appearance of sharp bloodied Kabutop blades made her halt. The pause allowed Grief to push away the anger, and made way for rational clarity.

At this range Elinor couldn’t dodge. Her head would hit the ground before she could summon her next Pokémon. Hands curled into fists in frustration.

Again she was powerless to do anything. Again she was simply a burden, and this time she might even become an unfortunate ressource on Team Rocket’s side. But being alive was better than being dead. With any luck surely her Laurence Anderson would come to save her. There it was, the faint shimmer of hope.

“I quite like being alive. I surrender. ” She spoke. Arms slowly moving for the trainer belts around her waist, removing them and all the Pokéballs they held. “But at least let my Pokémon go. You don’t need them and they are only going to cause you trouble.” She threw the belts toward Aggron.

The pain of shadow fire lessened as the chilling sensation of Elinor’s words reached Aggron, just in time for him to catch the belts. He was about to protest, but one glare from Elinor was enough to stop him. He knew their situation was doomed, if for no other reason than that all her Pokemon would die for her, if it meant potentially saving her.

Temp watched the exchange quietly, uncaring eyes flicking between the woman and her Aggron.[break][break]

He made no move to stop his pokemon from devouring Elinor Anderson's previous companion. The sounds of her eating filled the air, heavy, as he made his deliberation.[break][break]

"... fine." Is what he finally decided. Crossing his arms, Temp clicked his tongue. The Kabutops moved closer, blade raised, but did not strike. Only ensured cooperation.[break][break]

Brown eyes flicked over to the Aggron with a sneer.[break][break]

"If you try anything, I'll kill her." Was threatened at the pokemon. Then he glanced back at the woman of the hour.[break][break]

"If you try anything, I'll make sure your pokemon die slow and painful after I kill you."

Tempest Quinn didn’t have to honor such a deal, she knew there was nothing stopping him from promising one thing, then doing something else.

But the sight of Eele being consumed made her desperate to save her Pokémon from such a fate.

With the belts in hand the Aggron glared at the now captor. His eyes filled with fury and frustration. His body tense as he fought back the urge to charge.

“I won’t. You have my word on that.”

And with that she would allow Temp to restrain her in any way he deemed fit.

And the Aggron would attempt to do the one thing it could do for Elinor. Keep the other Pokémon safe by running away.

Silence stretches between them as the Aggron runs away. When it's far enough away, Temp takes a few steps towards the woman. He glowers down at her before reaching up.[break][break]

Plucks her earpiece from her ears and puts it in his own.[break][break]
