Silence could always speak volumes. Silence envoked emptiness within spaces, thoughtfulness from others. But from Akira... her silence was one of a stale and defensive nature; One that heeded Kouji's warnings, but did not have a way to formulate a response.[break][break]

”But that’s not my business, so I’ll just carry on being the muscle.”[break][break]

"..Good, its probably for the best." It was a quick response to his backing away. She was thankful for the morsel of kindness, but... it was probably for the best to make her intentions clear: she had no interest in talking about herself.[break][break]

Prepared to respond, the sound of Umbreon yelping in the distance would cause her to whip her head around, seeing her pokemon run from the darkness towards her and bark aggressively. "Whats wrong? Is something there?" She asked the pokemon. More barking. She couldn't quite understand her, but... the reaction was all she needed to know. "...Kouji, we did get the other league trainer right?"

”The other? What other?” Kouji asked as he looked at her, wondering just what the hell she was talking about. They had their job to do, but at the same time he could only sigh. ”There was another one huh?” His voice sounded exhausted but at the same time he looked at his feet and shrugged. ”If they come for us, we’ll take them out. Lets dash, you can run right? Have Umbreon keep an eye out, I’ll have…” He took out Absol, his partner pokemon and his ace.

He looked at his buddy, patted his head and then looked off in the distance. ”Make sure to keep an eye out buddy, we’ll be going for speed now.” He said as he looked at the ground underneath their feet, small tremors were beginning to grow. Looking back at Akira, he began to bounce on his feet. ”Let’s run.” He said as he began a run, not a sprint; he might need the energy.

Still, the tremors only got closer and closer to them, there was something approaching them, no, multiple of them if Absol’s reaction was anything to go by, so what was it that Umbreon saw to begin with?

"I- I said there was two outlines! Tsk- god damnit! YES there was another one!" The sound of Akira sounding annoyed would resurface, her teeth gritting against each other. Damnit, they were going to be in for it weren't they! Hopefully this time they could- just deal with the pokemon instead of the trainer.[break][break]

..Wait, run? Thanks to the darkness of the cave, the semblance of surprise across her face would be hidden from the likes of Kouji- not like he would pay attention anyways. But- she could barely carry these damn backpacks! let alone run with them! "I- of course I can! Just because I don't like this doesnt mean I'm incapable..." she grumbled, before hoisting her bag all the way onto her back and buckling it. Wordlessly Umbreon would take the hint and take off back into the dark.[break][break]

As they finally set off and Kouji turned to look at Akira, the visage of the ground behind her breaking in a fine line could be seen. And, as it rushed towards her feet, Akira would trip and fall with an ack! Looking down to see what had tripped her, she was mortified to see a Dugtrio pop out from below her. "Oh shit! Umbreon, use-"[break][break]

Without even having to say anything, Umbreon would bark from the shadows, sending forth a Confusion Ray to distract the Pokemon. It would then bark furiously, as if to gander the attention of Akira. "Tsk- Mimikyu!-" Hastily grabbing a pokeball from her bag, she threw it out- thus manifesting a rather twitchy looking pokemon in a... pikachu disguise? "Uh- Play Rough!"

Kouji couldn’t really put energy into a witty reply, there was none in his mind since he was busy bursting forward, taking large strides and feeling his knees shake with each harsh kick down onto the ground, that was until the moment he heard her fall behind him. They had two bags, two pieces of cargo to deliver…He couldn’t leave her behind.

But that was all, as he stopped to a skid, he turned to Absol, and then behind until he saw a large presence behind Akira, he looked at Absol, before he called him back and brought out Scraggy once more. ”Use Beat Up!” He told the pokemon who gave a loud huff before he charged forward, shadows formed around him until the moment in which they matched the shapes of his other pokemon, clashing against the steelix that was creeping up on them.

It was a large pokemon, but even so, it was being attacked from multiple angles, the Absol Shadow slashed it with its horn, while the Deino shadow headbutted it from below, Scraggy went for a low kick aimed at its core, and Eevee went for the charge. It was an attack from all angles, but the dark beat-down seemed to have some effect as it got a reaction from the pokemon before he roared, and curled itself into a ball before starting to spin on the spot, forcing Scraggy backwards.

”Hey Akira, back onto your feet! We’ve gotta get outta this narrow cave path, and move into an open space.” He said as he rushed towards her, grabbed the bag off her back, and took it onto his own before he went to pull along her by the arm, to rush down the path they were on.

"Tsk, I'm working on it!" Unlike Kouji, she was quick to respond, scrambling to her feet and taking off running. With the Dugtrio dazed for the moment, Akira took the initiative to scooping up Mimikyu and order Umbreon to chase after her.[break][break]

Keenly aware of the interception of the second pokemon- what appeared to be a Steelix- she was more surprised by the firm grasp of a hand on her wrist from the darkness pulling her down the path. Normally she would be furiously against the idea of someone physically grabbing her- but neither of them seemed to be in a spot to complain much. As they ran, Umbreon provided support, shooting off Confusion Rays into the dark to stall the incoming pokemon and give Kouji's pokemon a window to strike![break][break]

"Look, up ahead!" The view of a patch of light could be seen further down the tunnel. "It looks like an exit! Maybe it'll take us somewhere more open then this!"

Kouji charged forward, he wasn’t usually keen on holding someone’s hand, and dragging them along with him, but this was a different case altogether. Where a trio of weird phallic looking mons, and a giant steel snake were chasing them, small little inconveniences like those could be ignored comfortably. ”Alright, jump through.” He said as he prepared for a leap through the exit, it was a dangerous proposition but even so.

The moment he jumped into the light, dragging Akira with him, they ended up bursting through into the open cavern, a fall in front of them as they fell down the edge, sliding as he did so. It was a tumble and fall but it did save them from the Steelix that burst through and threw rocks into every direction, and the scraggy of his that came landing next to him even as he sprawled across the ground.

”Alright, it’s time to brawl. This is where we shine Scraggy, Low Kick, and then go into Beat up Again.”

Wait- oh god- was that a drop? She tried to warn him about the light, and how it could be a potential end to both of them. But before she could say anything, Kouji took them over the edge! Skidding downwards, Akira couldn't hold back the surprise in her tone- neither could Umbreon hold back their whining.[break][break]

Akira's landing was nowhere as graceful as Kouji's. Scraped knees would make contact with the ground as she hastily pushed herself up- adrenaline fueling her form. "R-Right! Deal with the offensive, I'll support you!"[break][break]

Before she knew it, the Steelix came bursting forward. Kouji seemed to know what he was doing. All more of a reason to stay out of the way, "Umbreon, use Confusion Ray and Assurance!" she ordered, in the process putting Mimikyu back into her pokeball. Like before, Umbreon would unleash a shockwave of a bark, the Confusion Ray making contact and confusing the poke- all of which made Kouji's assault that much stronger and easier.

Kouji smirked as she got the picture, while the pokemon were fighting, while he gave the command, he knew what his own job was; it was a dirty job but he would do it regardless, because he was the only one who could right now. ”Scraggy, give me cover. Use Beat up again.” He said to his pokemon, who had just completed his beat up once already.

But the Steelix was curling up into a ball before it began to spin, Gyro ball, before charging forward at Scraggy, the shadows met the rapidly spinning creature of steel, attack met attack; it was working strongly. Confused, but that merely made it strike harder, but at the same time, it crashed itself against the walls. ”Absol, go, find the Dugtrio.” Kouji said to the pokemon he had just brought at the pokeball.

It was there, then, that he found it; the small gap and the person behind it as he charged forward, running between falling rocks, and attacking creatures, shadows crossed his path, and he was forced to jump over a tail as it swung in his direction, heading into the gap right into where they had just left from.

Another battle, but the pokemon behind him would continue to fight on their own, they were battlers and brawlers just as he was. Hopefully, Akira would be fine too.

"Hey! Where are you going?!" It was clear that, unlike Kouji, Akira had been more focused on the fight itself. She hadn't noticed the Trainer nearby, so merely thought he was running off to cause trouble. She opened her mouth to shout, but her teeth instead gritted in annoyance. "God damnit! Fine, I just have to do everything myself!"[break][break]

Dropping the backpack on her back to the ground, Akira assumed a more comfortable battle position. Digging out her other pokeball from her bag, she threw it in the air "Mimikyu, go!" out came the twitching abomination, landing just as the Steelix's gyro attack finished. "Use Astonish!"[break][break]

In almost foreign way, the pokemon would... raise it's cloak slightly, causing the pokemon to flinch. Such would cause Kouji's pokemons to strike. Following this, the beaten up Steelix would roar in outrage, swinging it's tail to hit the Mimikyu twice, resulting in them being thrown across the grand space! "Mimikyu! D-Damnit! Umbreon, use Dark Pulse!"

Kouji had no time to look back, call back, or give out any advice just as he got past the battle itself. He got back into the narrow cave hall, seeing someone turn and run forward; it was far easier to run forward, to chase a man down. It was an action that he had made many a time, it was natural to him; the chase, the smell of weakness in the air, and the moment in which you pounced on them.

Back in the Cavern, the team of pokemon were busy fighting, Absol was sussing out just where the dugtrio was, to see just where they were coming from. His feelers were active, his mind was looking into itself trying to see the future from above.

But Scraggy was having an even more exciting battle, as kick met a dragon tail, the clash was broken in a moment with a shockwave before he was forced back into a skid, stopping immediately as the Steelix was hit by an astonish.

The large steel type flinched, even as it hit back with a strong tail swipe, a one for one, a strong strike that hit truly, but then another strike.

It was strong, but Scraggy didn’t have time to take care of Pokemon that weren’t him, he charged forward again, this time hitting with its stronger move, payback. The power it had stored came out in a fist strike, dark waves pulsed off after it had made contact, sending shocks into the surroundings and making it vibrate, a strong enough strike to send it back; right into the dark pulse that came from Umbreon.

That was the moment in which an earthquake went off below the ground.

It seemed that with the combined force of Scraggly and Umbreon, the Steelix was knocked out- it's grand form clattering to the ground and dimishing in a fading light- likely being recalled to its owner's pokeball. Akira wanted to celebrate, but such was interrupted by the feeling of the ground shaking below her.[break][break]

"Oh no, this has to be some kind of-" BAM! Erupting from below the ground, the Dugtrio from before would emerge, suddenly catapulting Akira and the backpacks next to her into the air. She screamed in surprise, realizing all to soon that she was airborne and falling towards the motherfucking ground![break][break]

As a reaction, Umbreon would turn and release a powerful park, unleashing a Confusion Ray upon the Dugtrio.

Scraggy had a choice to make the moment he felt the energy in him rise highly just as the Steelix was knocked out, Moxie; it’s ability. It felt its strength rise even higher as he jumped up into the air, catching the falling Akira while also avoiding the earthquake caused by the Dugtrio, it was a powerful attack but it didn’t have time to return an attack as well as save the human.

Absol howled towards the Umbreon, as if asking for support, but even so it charged directly at the Dugtrio, its focus sharpened, and ready to dive in even as its footing was placed weirdly, and caused it to fall, the shaking was powerful, and was causing the ground to crack around them, the cavern walls to shake, for spikes to fall from the ceiling, but all of that didn’t stop him from striking with his psycho-cut; his horn grew purple before it sent a sharp wave forward, he charging right behind the energy wave produced by that horn.

Elsewhere however, Kouji was still doing the running, gaining speed just as he caught the other man, charging into him, and tumbling down through the other end of the tunnel, it was a fast charge; but the two of them ended up falling, tumbling, and getting tangled up in each other as they landed. It was a physical altercation, and Kouji was ready to lay the smack down as he tried to position himself on top, but found himself being straddled; he kicked off, turned, and slammed his elbow into his diaphragm.

That was how the world’s least epic fist fight started.

Before she could meet the sweet embrace of death by colliding with the cavern floor, the iron grip of a pokemon would catch her out of midair, thus landing off onto a edge overseeing the battle. Flabbergasted by the past few seconds, Akira would stumble to catch her balance. "H-holy shit," she gasped, turning to look at Scraggly. Gosh, he looked more... rough up close.[break][break]

"Uh- thank you Scraggy!" Compared to her icy exterior towards Kouji, the expression on her face was mixed with relief, gratitude, and softness. "You should probably help Absol and Umbreon, I'll be here! I- need to find the backpacks anyways!"[break][break]

Meanwhile, Umbreon would bark in response, gearing up another Confusion Ray as Absol came in for a charging Psycho-Cut- the burst hitting just before the glowing strike. As a follow up, Umbreon would gear up and charge forward- using Snarl before striking with Assurance. The impact from it's power strike would cause Umbreon to throw itself backwards. Yet unlike it's trainer, it skidded into a defensive crouch, barking to indicate to Absol that it was ready to follow up with another support strike.

Kouji was still in his tumbling mess of fists, kicks, and more fists; he couldn’t reach for his knife lest he allow the trainer who he had kicked away from him to crush his head with a large slab, forced to roll out of the way of the thrown heavy instrument. Instead, he jumped to his feet, bounced on his heels, and finally began his assault. He stepped forward, closing the distance between the two by sliding his right foot forward before he dropped a left hook which was blocked by both hands, forcing him to open his palm and drag the arms down, counter rotate, and hit the man with an elbow, before he followed it up with a left hook once more as he pulled back his right.

Scraggy made a simple sound of acknowledgement as he touched down on the floor, before letting her catch her feet. He bounced on his heels, a simple action, before he stepped forward, closing the distance by sliding his left foot forward, closing in as he struck with a fist covered in darkness, held in payback for the pokemon far faster than himself, striking it.

Assurance supporting his movements, and making it strike twice, before he dropped low for a low kick; three pokemon against one was truly unfair, they didn’t stand a chance in the end, but that was how it would come out; it was a simple fact at the end of it all.

It was an explosive series of strikes that landed on the pokemon that shook the cavern all at once.
