The moth isn't going down, though its stopped by a blast of water that send its skittering back on white linoleum floors. Paxton uttered a curse as he realized his companion is fully stuck in the dream sequence. Fine. As the creature continued through it's paralysis, glowing brightly in warning, Paxton pulls the rifle off his back. [break][break]

"That thing feels real enough, hopefully I don't shoot anybody else stuck in this labyrinth." he said as he loaded rounds into his rifle. "Sierra, come back!" he ordered, closing an eye and tucking the butt of his weapon into his shoulder. he puts his sights on the metal Volcarona and fires, a bullet smashing through one of the strange pieces of its wings to keep it from flying back. [break][break]

It stutters in the air but still seemed to be overheating, its body glowing red as it prepared to fire off a blast of energy. His Skarmory moves in, despite Paxton's protest, FEINTing into the robot bug and smashing his tired body against the threat. All the while Paxton scrambled to load another shot, intent on destroying another wing before it blew up the hallway they were in.

Colton was unable to process what he had seen. What was the dream mist trying to show him? Was it a glimpse into the future? Or just a nightmare, preying on his deepest fears? He didn't know. How could he? Watching himself be so callous towards one of his partners, it didn't seem real. But the presence of the mechanical Volcarona called that into question.

A sudden gunshot shook him from his stupor, his attention returning to the battle in the hallway as the bullet punched through the creature's wing. Arti and Skarmory continued to fight valiantly, a second HYDRO PUMP splashing over its body. Yet it pushed on, the heat rising in the hallway as the creature threatened to detonate with all the heat it had stored in its body. He could see Cassidy readying another shot, but if one shot and all the damage it had already taken didn't shake it, then what good would one more do?

There was only one option.

Colton pulled an empty Pokéball from his waist, chucking it directly at the Iron Moth with all his strength. As he did, the Pokémon released its OVERHEAT and he watched as the poor Skarmory was too close to avoid the sudden attack. Black scorch marks appeared along its body as the attack cooked it inside and out, only for the heat to die a moment later as his Pokéball bounced off of its head, catching it unaware as the ball enveloped it in a crimson light. It landed on the ground with a dull thud, rocking back and forth as the button let out a soft red pulse.

Colton felt his heart racing as he watched the Pokéball, Arti already readying another attack as they waited with baited breath. The seconds crawled by, as the tension rose, when, with a soft chime, the ball stopped rocking. The Pokémon had been caught.

Colton let out the breath he had been holding before collapsing back to the ground. The white walls around them as they slowly began to fade away, returning the pair to the Ultra Deep Sea. They had finally made it out, but they were hardly in one piece. The Skarmory lay dead on the ground and Colton felt drained, both mentally and physically. He hardly even noticed Arti dropping the Iron Moth's Pokéball into his lap.

"I hate this place..."

As Sierra runs to try to push the Iron Moth even farther, it makes the choice to sacrifice itself for the group. But the pwoer of its OVERHEAT is overwhelming and just as Paxton is about to try to bash down a door in the hallway, the heat stops. The monster disappears, captured into a pokeball. The dream disappears and Paxton is left staring at the body of his comrade, and and then at his companion. [break][break]

He nodded quietly, taking out his Skarmory's poekball and destroying it. "I can escort you to an outpost for medical attention." he offered, though his eyes are on the pokeball. "I can't believe that shit...is real." he added, trialing off as he looked around. No signs of the other robot they saw, just the charred corpse of his pokemon. He wasn't moving.
