"Depressing. Each time my delphox crushes one of these hands, another takes it place. The people are nervous too — they don't seem too keen on talking much. What can you see up there?"

Greyson lodges the observations away.

"I feel like we're missing something. These people seem too accepting of the circumstances. Why not just move? Or clear out the source of this poison?"

"Furthermore, the sky — it's odd to me that only this small zone of the sky can be seen and we just so happen to have an observatory to do so. Have any of you peered through it yet?"

“We have encountered the hands as well. I presume that their persistence has worn down on these people. Even this Hero of Many Battles seems to have succumbed.”

“What hope they may have had has eroded. At least, that's my presumption."

"They cannot move. We cannot see much from here but this is indeed one of the only remaining cities. The rest of the region is truly in shambles."

"That would make the most sense. If memory serves this poison — whatever it may be — is likely the root of all the issues here. At least if that ancient text were to be believed."

"The stadium seems to be the origin point — the sludge's presence only increases the closer you get to its walls."

"No signs of the ruinous pokemon either then? Something tells me that clearing this city of the poison is too easy. Heroics are often done at the edge of a blade."

“So we must address the source first. We should prepare for possible fallout from our interference in the stadium.”

"That would be the most likely scenario. Question remains: what 'big bad' will appear?"

"Consolidating forces at the stadium is too risky — it'll leave us, and the city exposed. We should form and assign teams to specific objectives."

“Indeed. Some should attempt to curb the poison at its source. If you encounter others already trying, it may be wise to pivot into tunneling the cities into specific choke points.”

“I believe your part to play in this will be the most dire, Connors.”
