"Thank you for the kind words, Sheriff." He said, swinging himself off his saddle, patting his ghostly ride's side briefly before approaching the unmoving zombie, crouching besides it.

"Think we might be able to extract toxin samples from the body?" Asked the blonde as he fished into his breast pocket, producing a small case.

Popping it open, a number of small forensic tools were found inside— including two needles and 2 vials.

“What I’d give to have you here every day, man. Really.” Were it not for the sudden fatigue in his voice, he’d be sure he sounded like a kiss-ass. He probably does anyway, but the man’s skills are something to marvel at.

"I'm afraid I've prior commitments, Sheriff." He said, snapping the sample case shut before pocketing it. "Unfortunately, my circumstances are no better than your own."

He could count on one hand the amount of officers left at the precinct— and he only needed one digit to count how many were fit for the streets of rocket controlled Sootopolis.

"Then again... Perhaps Sootopolis' Police force won't exist for much longer." He said ominously.

It was only a matter of time before the Sootopolis PD disappeared for good— everyone knew.

At the other's words, he hummed, offering a smile.

"I was unfortunate enough to personally offend declan walsh's sensibilities while in Mt. Pyre, back when the meteor was our biggest concern." He said.

"He promised retribution not only against me, but all of my colleagues." He rubbed at his chin, brow furrowed.

"There's not many of us left anymore... I'm uncertain if this is what he meant— or if the coup de grâce is yet to come."

"Those who remain, few as they are, do so out of a sense of duty." He said. "As for me... before I break out of that city, there's something I must at least try to accomplish."

After so many colleagues had been injured, killed and kidnapped in the line of duty, he had no desire to escape Sootopolis empty handed.

At the very least— he needed to find out where declan walsh hid his smug mug.
