The next chamber becomes brightly lit by white dragonfire as soon as you enter. Small dragon Pokémon, such as Dratini and Dreepy, hover in the corners of the room, awed at the demonstration of power you have put on display, having heard your battle from beyond the now-lowered slab.[break][break]

As you walk toward the center of the room, you notice an odd pattern etched into the floor, specific tiles receded into the ground more than others. It appears to be a crude MAP of the Shark's Maw. While your phones do not get signal, running them in local mode will allow you to take a snapshot of it for future reference.[break][break]

You got the MAP! The dark rooms are the ones you haven't been to yet.[break][break]

Beyond the north passage, you can hear a distant, yet loud, cry from what you can only assume to be a powerful dragon Pokémon. Its distance makes the Pokémon impossible to identify from the muffled cry alone. The cry makes the small dragoon-types inclined to retreat. Half of them take cover beyond the east passage, dark and a great place to hide. Half take cover beyond the west passage, which glows brightly with sunlight.[break][break]

That made sense, like, thematically but it was a nice detail.[break][break]

The Loot Goblin in him was really tempted to explore some of the side passages. However, weren't the pokemon scared by up north?[break][break]

As you and Shalin cautiously tread north along a stone bridge spanning a gap you cannot see the bottom of, a stone slab rises behind you, covering the south opening like a sliding door. Furthermore, you can hear echoed, high-pitched roaring from the north end. Your EXPERIENCE AS A WARRIOR lets you identify the call as an ALTARIA.[break][break]

As you get closer to the north end of the bridge, you can see pink gemstone protruding from the far wall. Another stone slab covers the entrance beyond the north side of the bridge, though it is possible to get the leverage needed to push the slab back into the ground. While Shalin uses her Pokémon to get the passage open, you have time to prepare for what is likely a battle ahead.[break][break]

An Altaria, huh?[break][break]

What Temp knew about them, they were very fast special attackers. While Bolstering defenses and healing seemed like good options, the Altaria would just shred through them regardless. They were also pretty frail if you could survive a hit, so with their strength levels they should be okay...[break][break]

The hard part was just hitting them![break][break]

So Temp picked the most obvious option in his opinion! Raising speed and accuracy to try and outpace the Altaria before it could get them.

It flies around the room in an effort to kite the two of you straight into its DRAGON BREATH, though your IMPROVED EVASION lets you dodge the attack easily. It shows no signs of letting up, though, its mouth still glowing a bright white. Your ROGUISH SENSES are immediately drawn to patterns in the gem-like walls' glow; the brightest colors seem to be following the ALTARIA.[break][break]

Though it is rare to see a Mega Evolved wild Pokémon, you just witnessed one; there now is no doubt in your mind that the pink gemstone coating large sections of the room is ALTARIANITE. Taking advantage of your failed attack, the dragon screeches before loosing a MOONBLAST upon you, Shalin, and your Pokémon. Its searing light burns all four of you. While you survive the attack, you are much worse for wear.[break][break]

Sadly, Temp was not much of a puzzle guy. While he had been paying close attention to the details of the game, he was mostly just left confused.

After the Altaria discharges its MOONBLAST, it is vulnerable to attack. You suggest trying to slow it down with a debilitating, indirect attack. Given its dragon typing, your first instinct is to freeze it. Your ice-type attack does the trick! With its wings frozen, it is reduced to breath weapons. Shalin is able to finish the foe off with a POISON JAB from her Beedrill, though one last DRAGON BREATH leaves you and her in questionable shape.[break][break]

As if on cue, the sealed passages reopen once the Mega Altaria falls. Beyond appears to be the source of the Mega Evolution: the floor is the top of a giant gemstone of ALTARIANITE. On the raised pedestal are two treasure chests. Curious, you open them.[break][break]

One contains a silver KEY adorned with the likeness of a dragon's head, and the other contains a bottle of red liquid unlike anything you have ever seen. As you pop open its cork, a rank smell wafts into your nostrils. Though is is unpleasant, the medicinal odor soothes your sounds some. It seems that the red liquid is restorative medicine, though only a CLERIC would know of its true efficacy.[break][break]

You got a SMALL KEY! This key will open any one locked door. You can use it only in this dungeon.[break][break]

You got a RED POTION! Drink it to partially restore your life energy. Gone after one use.[break][break]

You have reached the far northwest corner of the Shark's Maw. While you cannot progress further in this direction, there are other directions you can go inside the sprawling maze. You return to the four-way intersection prior to the long hallway leading to the Altaria to gather your bearings.[break][break]

You hand the RED POTION to Shalin. She pops the cork on its bottle and courageously downs it. It has an intense taste of Cheri, Oran, and Sitrus to it despite its medicinal smell. Though it has little apparent immediate effect, given a short time to rest, she would feel almost as refreshed as though she had a good night's sleep. Following that, her wounds noticeably shrink in size.[break][break]

The script hanging above its central dais remains, as does the large amethyst floating above it. A purple gemstone remains embedded above the altar to the north does, as does a topaz above the one to the east.[break][break]
