Oh yeah, now it was all coming together. A shame, though, that he hadn't thought to get this stuff when he was here earlier. But, then again, he hadn't had a map to tell him there was hidden treasure...[break][break]

The next best place to go was always the room with more treasure. Tempest wasn't about to leave unless he died, too. These dragon types would not be able to match up to his water type mastery.

Tempest hummed and thought about it, placing his phone down as he wandered into the kitchen. His Leafeon followed him, the grass type hoping for a snack. Temp was just getting a glass of water, though, as he pondered the answer.[break][break]

Well, he wanted whatever was inside for sure. He could use one of the berries... but he wanted to save those for later.[break][break]

With powerful ranged attacks, you snipe the Drakloak off one at a time. Though you are quick in dispatching them, the Dragapult takes aim at you and your Pokémon before you can shoot it out of the air. Your projectiles and its DRAGON DARTS whiz past one another. The guardian Pokémon phases through the walls in retreat, but not before its Dreepy warheads leave nasty cuts upon you, Shalin, and your Pokémon. [break][break]

Shalin opens the chest's lid, which sounds a loud creak. On top of the multicolored gems, which you feel would sell for a tidy sum of money, is a transparent glass bottle containing a blue, medicinal-smelling liquid. Unsteady after taking such a big hit from the Dreepy missiles, she hands it to you for safekeeping.[break][break]

You obtained a BLUE POTION! Drink it to fully replenish your LIFE ENERGY. Gone after one use.[break][break]

"How do I get to these corner chests?" There were some rooms on this side they hadn't explored, but what if it was just more enemies? They didn't have infinite HP or anything... thought the potion WOULD help....[break][break]

Temp paused to finish cooking dinner and to feed his pokemon. After the dogs were fed and his belly full, he curled up on the couch to wait for Cillian Quinn to get home. May as well play more game on his phone.[break][break]

Well, the best course would be... he may as well explore the rest of the rooms on this side. They might have a clue to get to those hidden chests.

You head to the southeast, finding a span over what appears to be a deep pit. An intense burning smell and the sound of crackling flames assault your senses. Out of morbid curiosity, you tilt your head down. [break][break]

Far below you, you see a narrow rock bridge that winds across the pit you otherwise cannot see the bottom of. It is illuminated only by stone Charizard heads spewing red-hot flames all over the bridge. Attempting to cross as is would result in only certain death. You commit the shape of the bridge to memory, keeping your eyes open for a way to the lower level.[break][break]

You head to the southwest. Beneath your feet, you can feel a slight rumbling as though something is burrowing underneath you. Whatever it is, it either is not hostile or is unable to attack, given the current conditions within the Shark's Maw. Rather than the mortar-like, hewn stone of the rest of the place, the floor here appears to be all natural. [break][break]

Beyond, you see two tunnels leading downward: one right in the chamber's center; the other on the far west side. In front of the first tunnel floats a grey glyph similar to the one you saw upon the ALTAR OF STEEL. It does not impede your progress in any way.

Blocking your way to the far tunnel is a large slab almost the width of the room. While there is not enough room for you to traverse past it in any way, you can at least see beyond it. On the slab is a purple glyph similar to the one you saw upon the ALTAR OF WISDOM.[break][break]

You descend into the cellar, finding a large, cavernous chamber you cannot see the bottom of. The chamber's only source of light is an array of stone Charizard heads spewing dense, criss-crossing streams of red-hot fire. You recognize that this chamber is the same one you viewed from above. Your new perspective reveals another entrance to the cellar on the far side. Marking it on your map, you see that it drops you off on the other side of a door that was sealed with a purple GLYPH OF WISDOM. Without a way to cross other than the one that would reduce you to a pile of ash and molten bones, you turn back.[break][break]

Feeling like you have exhausted your options beyond the ALTAR OF STEEL for now, you return to the entrance hall. The way forward surely must be beyond one of the other two altars.[break][break]

You hand the bottle of BLUE POTION to Shalin, which she happily gulps down. Almost like a Pokémon being taken to a Pokémon Center and treated with a healing machine, her wounds visibly scab up. While complete healing will, of course, take weeks, she seems about as refreshed as can be before you continue onward. The missing piece to the puzzle must be behind one of the remaining two altars...[break][break]

As you touch the yellow gemstone on the east altar, it does not immediately react; instead, the amethyst above the central dais floats toward the west altar and recedes into the wall above it. In front of the altar, ancient text briefly hangs in the air:

"Your abilities are once again your own."

As your environment ceases looking greyscale and returns to its natural colors, you feel the oppressive dragon energy surrounding you dissipate, as though you have been released from something shackling you.

That feeling is short-lived; immediately after the colors return to normal, a large topaz above the east altar breaks free from its relief and floats above the central dais, being manipulated with an unseen power. The grey color scheme of the Shark's Maw gives way to a bright yellow one. Shalin's Pokémon steed starts screeching as it scratches the ground with its claws in an almost involuntary fashion. The ancient script near the now-open north door rearranges itself into a short message:

"KNOWLEDGE avails you not."

The west altar blocks your way forward, and now the only open door is to the east. With you and Shalin having blazed a warpath through much of the east wing, there is little to impede your travel. Referencing your MAP, there appear to be two potential ways forward: first, east from where you fought the Drakloak; and second, east of where you had narrowly avoided shrapnel from whirling, flying floor tiles.[break][break]
