The wild Mareanie appears.

Johanna is mildly surprised as it jumps out from a bush, it’s ability to hide beating her passive perception quite a bit.

Luckily she’d grown well trained in the art of recovering from surprise, and so she summoned one of her Pokémon to battle.

The choice for today was a Nidoqueen. A mild roar announced its presence and the SLUDGE WAVE that followed would push the Mareanie to the ground.

The wild Pokémon was quick to admit defeat even if the Sludge wave did little damage.

And so Johanna threw a Pokéball at it, hoping to catch it.

As Johanna continued her journey through the Safari Zone, she quickly stumbled upon a Morpekko lying amidst bushes.

Covered in thick poisonous sludge, it had clearly been afflicted with the POISON-STATUS. Luckily for it, Johanna always carried a bit of ANTIDOTE with her on her person.

With the help of one of her numerous Poison type Pokémon she removed the sludge from the Morpekko and administered the ANTIDOTE.

When the Morpekko was cured, Johanna was quick to nudge a Safari ball against it, hopefully capturing it.

Johanna continued on her way now one Pokémon richer.

The next Pokémon that she stumbled upon was a Chespin. She considered capturing it for a brief moment, but then decided against it.

And so she walked past it without further ado.

Johanna left the grass type behind, continuing on her way through the Safari Zone’s green wilderness.

Alas it did not take long before the next Pokémon decided to show. Though she smelled it before she saw it. It’s foul stench clearing away just about any other Pokémon.

The Koffing floated about indifferent to its own smell. When it saw Johanna, it was quick to pull the trigger and fire a Sludge Bomb at her.



Luckily Johanna was rather adept at dodging. After a quick jump and roll, she summoned her fighter for this encounter. A Pallosand took to the field, it’s grainy-sand body quickly shooting into the air to latch onto and pull down the Koffing until it admitted defeat.

The koffing tried to wiggle and struggle. But it found itself unable to do so as the Pallosand SHORE’d UP it’s defenses and slowly began to apply HYPNOSIS to the poor thing.

The struggle came to an end and Johanna readily threw one of her Safari Balls at the Koffing, hoping to capture it.

With Koffing added to the collection, Johanna moved on. Walking along the path until she stumbled upon the sight of a pink Pokémon sleeping rather soundly upon the path.

Johanna came to a halt, for a moment considering to let it sleep. But before she could do so, it woke up to the sound of her footsteps.

It looked toward her, head empty, not a thought in sight. It then walked toward her, and began to snuggle up against her leg as if she was an old friend.

Not that she was. But it seemed that Slowpoke thought so.

And so she offered it a Safari ball, to which it would hopefully respond kindly.
