A VAST DESERT LANDSCAPE dotted with rocky structures and monoliths. Curiously, they almost seem humanmade, though there are no signs of people here. Shrubbery and turquoise crystals are encrusted throughout the bright and sweltering dryland. Occasionally, you may stumble upon rocky terrain that is difficult to traverse.[break][break]

Mysterious obelisks with missing seals are situated throughout the desert. No one knows why they exist, or who made them.

however, your party must determine which species (pheromosa or buzzwole) will "win" or have "gained the upperhand" and note it during archival.[break][break]

by the end, everyone may capture one PHEROMOSA or BUZZWOLE (one or the other, not both).

In the vast Ultra desert, weathered obelisks rose from the sand, mysterious markings etched into their surfaces, and punctured holes of unknown origin marring their structures.

Amidst the mysterious architecture, a colossal alien vessel dominated the horizon, its metallic form casting an eerie shadow.

The desert held untold secrets waiting to be deciphered by intrepid souls.

By which, of course, the author means—

"Alright everyone! Take two!" A youthful voice declared with a grin, standing atop their transport vehicle with his arms crossed, one foot over the jeep's windscreen. "This time? No touching. Okay?"

He turned back to face the others excitedly, hopping off the side of the car.

"Stay close together and keep your eyes peeled!" The lt. colonel said, hugging his coat tightly around him.

Reports from scouts claimed movement and loud noises coming from within the large vessel.

Also, a big fuck off hole had been punched on its hull— er, a new one, that is. Several.

It seemed as though a battle might've gone down in there.

Given they had seen Ultra beast corpses around the ship's perimeter the last time they had been around here...

Yeah, their intrepid leader's excitement was probably related.

This desert haunted his every waking moment. It seemed he did nothing but spend time here, much to his dismay.

But the work had to be done, and luckily the company was fairly decent.

The Lt. Colonel offered them a brief moment's respite before the work would begin.

“No touching, got it.” Sigurd would respond with a grin and a nod.

Sigurd took this opportunity to jump out of the vehicle and take a look at the colossal Alien Vessel. He noticed the new holes in the hull, pondered for a moment about the shitshow they were about to walk into.

"This time? No touching. Okay?" That was clearly directed at a certain someone. But, Elaine was the type of person who could hardly help it. Her entire career was built off of snooping around and touching things that she was told not to touch.

Still, there were probably better things that could be done than hitting random buttons.

"I hear you, boss."

Better to acquiesce for now. She could still renege on that promise later on. After all, there were probably stuff that needed to be investigated within the hull of the great vessel they had recently explored and escaped from.

After standing for a bit behind the rest of the group, she walked up next to the largest hole she could see and pointed at it with her thumb.

"Well, no point in waiting around. Shall we get going inside?"

TL;DR:
Elaine goads the rest of the group into heading in through the largest hole in the hull

Crap. He was roped into this again. The ungodly heat baking down on them, still unbearable like the last few times. Maverick, still dressed in his almost all black attire. Did this man ever learn?[break][break]

The trumpet voice of their leader rang out, crimson colored orbs shifted to the little too exhilarate man. Maverick huffed at his comment about ‘no touching’, fighting the temptation to glare at a certain someone. “Right,” he mumbled in a low tone, gaze fixed on the vessel and noting the new holes in it. A bad feeling bubbled in him. Great. That again.[break][break]

Although this wasn’t the first time seeing the vessel, the sheer size of it still was quite impressive. And as the only woman in the group moved to the largest hole and suggested to go inside, the burnt scarred man fought the urge yet again to remind her not to touch anything. However, he didn’t. Like always, he kept his mouth shut and simply nodded in agreement. Time to see whats going on.

The colonel had hand picked each and every single man and woman present.

They would never escape this desert!!!

"Right-o!" He said with a smile, taking the lead and approaching the largest hole in the hull at Elaine Highland's suggestion. "Let's go, everyone!"

Inside the vessel, the air hung heavy with dust and a foreign scent akin to blood. Fractured remnants of what was once a grandeur interior lay strewn about. The signs of recent activity were rather obvious.

Thin, Scattered, fading footprints on the ancient floor revealed a frenzied dance, marked by incredibly deep imprints, evidence of unearthly strength that tested the ship's frail structure.

Indentations, cracks and even more full-blown holes adorned the walls, imprints from powerful blows that had been thrown about indiscriminately, evidence of a violent battle that had seemingly taken place but a scant few hours before their arrival.

Unfamiliar fluids covered some surfaces... though no bodies were to be found yet.

"Spooky." The colonel said with a hum, not moving much. He didn't want to disturb the footprints... "What'cha all think?Pretty different from last time, innit?"

There were at least 100% more holes than last time.

"Alright, so. I'mma examine these footprints for a bit— think I recognize them. Help me out, Ms. Highland." He said, before turning over to Sigurd Holst and maverick noah ryder. "You two— Could you look into those holes on the walls, see were, if anywhere, they lead?"

3rd Expedition

Things were going more smoothly than last time. Though she was the one who was pushing buttons last time they had showed up at this strange site, Elaine was glad to see things going a bit more orderly than before.

As it turned out, having an orderly command structure instead of a laissez-faire one greatly helped out. Chaos was best used when it could be directed towards a goal after all. Within that storm of destruction that had awaited them, there were a few things of note. The first being that there was not a single body.

Yes, unlike the corpses they had encountered before, this was a different story.

She was hardly a ranger, but even that expertise was not necessary to make the obvious logical deduction as she rested her knee and hand next to one of the many sets of prints they had found.

"So, they're from the same kind as those corpses. But no corpses means..."

There really was only one answer, one that she still needed to at least allude to.

"Be on guard, guys. We don't know what's still lurking here in the area."

Shit show or no, they still entered the vessel. Heavy air filled with dust and a foreign scent that tore at his nose the same way blood did urged Sigurd to walk cautiously alongside his fellow explorers.

While Doug was focusing on the footprints that they suddenly found, Sigurd was pointed in the direction of the holes on the walls.

“Will do.” He stated, before heading over to the holes in the walls. He carefully looked into them, making sure to not get too close. He had seen enough movies to know that sticking your face into random holes in an alien vessel was a bad idea.

But as he peered through, he saw nothing but the emptiness of the other side. It was kind of peculiar. But perhaps Maverick had better luck?

It hasn’t been too long sense the last time the team was here. Yet, there were clear signs of something or someone else being here between then and now. He was the last to enter into the abandoned vessel, crimson colored orbs took in the crumbling interior. His gaze fell to the dust dirty floor noting the new almost fresh prints scattered about, those prints were unfamiliar to him. A loud shifting creek forced him to look up, seeing the strange substance also scattered about. His gut feeling tugged at him. Something happened here recently. But what, was still unclear.[break][break]

It was their leader, John Sullivan, who was the first to speak up. He also remarked on how eerie it felt and something was different from the last time. Sigurd Holst and him were directed to check out the multiple holes in vessel, Maverick let out a low grumble along with a "Alright". This whole thing seemed like a bad idea. Yet, the ex gym leader moved to one of the larger holes away from most of the group. And as he peered into it, eyes widened at the sight of corpses just as Elaine Highland heeded a warning.[break][break]

“Ahhhh… hey-“ Maverick mumbled in his low dark tone, speaking up more to get their attention while he glared at the scene before him, “Come take a look at this. I think we might have found something.” Arceus. What have they gotten themselves into?

The chamber in which maverick noah ryder had peered in was dimly lit, what little light drifted from their hallway just barely illuminating the grisly scene inside.

Cracks and craters scarred the walls.

Two lifeless forms were sprawled on the floor. The first lay in a crater crumpled against the wall, its head slumped and its thin chest splattered against the hard surface. Across from it, the second creature's lifeless eyes stared blankly, body slumped forward with sharp holes kicked clearly through its torso.

Yet another Buzzwole and Pheromosa that died locked in a struggle.

But as Elaine Highland would've figured out by now... Nowhere near the only ones present.

"Phew." Doug muttered, eyes wide as he stared at the sight, before reaching over to pat Maverick on the back. "Y'all think there might be more further inside?"

No amount of bloodshed was going to keep a bugcatcher from bugcatching.

Grinning at Sigurd Holst once the man returned to their group, the youth turned to his 3 companions and gathered his hands together, lips pursed.

"Given everything we've seen— I've a half assed theory to hit'cha with." He said, before pointing at the corpses. "This might be a territorial dispute."

He paused.

"It ain't uncommon, even among bug-types." So long as they had similar needs for limited resources... "Last pair of corpses we found had also been near this place. Maybe they're trying to make it into their colony-slash-hive...?"

After a moment of thought, he turned back to his companions.

"Awright, let's stick together for now! Countin' on yer expertise, Ms. Highland— lead the way! Ryder, Sigurd— be on yer guard." To emphasize, the youth released a Escavalier out of his pokeball. "We're goin' deeper inside."

TL;DR:
-Good find, Mav!
-it's 2 corpses!
-Elaine knows that there's more where those came from.
-With that in mind, Bug expert Doug theorizes it might be a territorial dispute between bug types.

It was a sight to be held. One that Maverick never thought he would see, but it seemed that their fearless leader has seen this before. A hand firmly patted his back, causing ex gym leader to grunt as he listened to John Sullivan explanation to what he hypothesized what could be going on. It sounded reasonable enough and actually a very common thing to happen between pokemon, assuming that ultra beast were no different. Maverick hummed to response, giving a single nod in agreement.[break][break]

However, their leader offered to go further in. And at first, the man was a little hesitant. Should they be getting themselves involved with something that didn’t really concern them in the first place? Poking the hive didn’t seem right. Yet, what did he know? For now, he would have to trust John and the rest of the group. After all, the whole point they were here was to investigated. Right? “If you think that is wise.”[break][break]

A decision was made, their leader calling forth a bug of his own. Crimson colored orbs met his gaze, giving the man a nod before following after them. And like always it seemed, a bad feeling swirled in his gut. He took in a deep breath, hand reached into his pocket to grab a sphere. You know, just in case.

3rd Expedition

At this point, it was obvious that things were about to spiral out of control very soon. There was no way to deny the reality of what they found. The corpses were fresh--or at least fresher than the ones they had found earlier. Between that and the prints in the sand, it was clear that there were more of them nearby.

Moreover, the boss was likely right. As a ranger and a bug type expert, the logic in what he had said was sound. Multiple hives leading to a clear territorial dispute was not exactly the most enticing sounding reality, but it was the one that made the most sense.

Elaine merely nodded.

There was no need to try and communicate loudly anymore. They needed the cover of stealth now more than ever if they were going to advance into the hornets' nest before them.

From the Pokeball in her hand, she let out Jeanne. As the spectral knight stood up, she placed a finger before her mouth to signal for silence. They needed to be on guard. So with her personal knight at her side, she signaled to the others with her hand that she was ready to move forward.

EMSD, the real OGs

Some issues came up eventually— issues that saw the mission leader send back @holst to base, in order to let the man handle it.

No need to delve too deeply into it— the problem would be surely solved by the time they came back. For now...

They had an adventure ahead of them.

With himself and maverick noah ryder following behind Elaine Highland, their group descended into a crevice that had been carved through the gargantuan ship's structure with careful steps.

Something had torn through sheets and pillars of metal to reach wherever the heck it was they were going— maybe an enemy ship's blast, or perhaps the very same Ultra Beasts' which trail's they were following.

They would find that whatever it was, its power had been such that it had dug beyond the ship itself, and into the very sand and bedrock upon which its skeleton now rested.

Their pokemon's assistance would be needed as they descended further into the dark depths, Doug's scales once again serving as lanterns as reached the bottom of the crevice.

What had perhaps once been a long hallway now led them towards a large door.

Upon entering— the need for lanterns became no longer necessary. For bright, glimmering gold stretched out before them. So beautiful and pure, it seemed to illuminate the entire vault on its own. Treasures that boggled the mind covered every inch of the room before them...

"Holy Molly!" Shouted the mission leader, eyes wide.

PROMPT
28 encounter an immense vault (or any kind of area) filled with treasures; however, these are mirage-like illusions designed as a trap.

It would seem that the only female in the group once again, took the lead into the depths. And that once again, Maverick was the one covering the rear. It was his own fault really, the bad feeling that continued to plague him force him to be hesitant in pushing forward. This was probably one, of the many, reason the League didn’t seem to keen on restoring his spot as a gym leader in the near future. The rough years have made him soft, not so fearless as he once was. Of course, this bothered the burnt scared man though he made no attempts of changing that now.[break][break]

Following the groups lead, Maverick too was quick to summon a creature. The massive six foot seven hell hound let out a low grumble upon being released, unpleased by being held captive in her sphere. However, Maverick was quick to silence her with a finger over his lips to indicate she needed to be quiet. Her long arrow tipped tail twitched and her own red orbs glared at him through the rapidash skull she wore over her own, though she made no further noise. With that settled, the pair followed.[break][break]

There was clear indications that something or someone was determined to get through the passage, sheets of metal and pillars ripped back to make way for it. If the uneasy feeling wasn’t already there, it would have been now. Soon, a long hallway was presented to the group. And at the end, a very large door looking awfully fancy for being down here. A lump in the man’s throat built, Maverick attempting to swallow it with no prevail. He wanted to asked if they should even open it, again the thought of him turning soft reminded him to keep his mouth shut.[break][break]

It was John Sullivan who braved opening the large doors, crimson colored orbs widened at the sight of all of shimmering treasure that reflected the light back at them. Their leader shouted in astonishment at the sight, startling Maverick for a moment as he was quick to ‘shhhh’ the leader. It was too late though, the ground began to quake. Azula’s lips lifted, barring her teeth as a vicious snarl ripped through her throat. Oh no....
