Summer looked around the workshop, wrinkling her nose. The amount of clutter and mess there was absurd. They say that geniuses knew where they put everything, in organized chaos, but this?[break][break]

This was definitely more than that.[break][break]

"This is a TEPIG sty. Believe me, Surtur made just as big of a mess before..." Summer grumbled to herself as she wandered toward the workbench.[break][break]

There was a device, with an odd symbol on it. There was no "SILPH" marker on it. So who made it?[break][break]

"I don't know if I trust this thing..." she said, dropping it to the floor with a loud shatter.

He'd chosen to wreck the place with BARNABY FINCH, too, but he doesn't protest as Summer suggests they do the same. He'd seen with Zev Harcourt what happened if they fixed the device, and that was perhaps more unsettling than the faceless onlookers had been.[break][break]

"Probably won't put my hand through the glass again, though. Oh, yeah, by the way, we're being watched. This is like some weird fuckin' terrarium shit, if you tear down the walls. Watch."[break][break]

As Summer trashes the workshop proper, Cillian retrieves one of the many scattered tools and begins to systematically dismantle the walls.[break][break]

"What?" Summer quickly turned, regarding Cillian with a confused look. A glass wall? Surely not. This all felt like a normal workshop.[break][break]

But as he began to dismantle the walls, one by one, the glass became apparent. There were faces peering back at them, hidden in the shadows. It sent a cold shiver down Summer's spine as her gaze took it all in.[break][break]

"We're a spectacle."[break][break]

As soon as she said it, applause erupted. It grew louder and louder, so loud that it hurt her ears. She covered them, wincing. "Get us out of here!" she said to no one in particular.

In contrast to Summer's distress, he is calm as he covers his ears against the cacophony.[break][break]

"Should be just a few more seconds!" he calls loudly over the din, to reassure Summer of their impending shift.[break][break]

His ears ring when he pulls his hands away.

Finally, the loud, thunderous clapping subsided. Summer's panic slowly calmed down, and she grew enough courage to slowly peel her hands away from her ears. Her eyes opened, as she realized she wasn't in the spotlight anymore.[break][break]

In fact, she and Cillian Quinn were in what appeared an unground tomb. A catacomb of sorts.[break][break]

There's headstones surrounding them, though Summer couldn't make out the names on them. What she could see what a large crack in the middle of the ground.[break][break]

"A SPIRITOMB..." she murmured to no one in particular, noticing the creature grinning devilishly back at them.[break][break]

As if by temptation, her hand reached forward, reaching to take one of the many spirits that it had in its grasp.

With eyes open, the shift is sudden and nauseating, as if his mind is reeling in an attempt to make sense of the change. He endures it in silence as he looks around a now-familiar tomb, wondering where among the numerous graves the Spiritomb has chosen to hide.[break][break]

Summer's voice draws his attention away from a particular section of the tomb, eyes wide with alarm when he realises she's reached toward it.[break][break]

"Summer, don't!"[break][break]

But his warning comes too late to stop what he knows will happen next.[break][break]

He clicks his tongue, a Klefki rousing at his belt.[break][break]

Too late did Summer hear Cillian Quinn cry out, warning her not to touch the souls. But as her fingers grasp it, to hold it in her hand as compelled her to, a sudden surge overcame her body.[break][break]

Her face twisted into a broken, jagged grin, her body turning toward Gavin as he summoned the KLEFKI from his side. Hidden on her person, a dagger slid from her thigh, and she darted forward.[break][break]

"Another soul... we demand another soul... Cillian Quinn, join our ranks!" the voice whispered from Summer's lips as she lifted her arm up, propelling it downward with force to attempt to stab him in the throat.

Though he has danced this dance before, the twisted approximation of a Spiritomb's visage upon Summer's face is no less unsettling.

Cillian Quinn broke her free from the bindings of the souls. Summer let out a gasping breath, as if something just fled from her body. She felt hollow for a moment, before regaining her ability to speak and move properly.[break][break]

"I couldn't control it. I'm sorry," she apologized, though she recognized that the underboss held no disdain toward her actions. She nodded, rubbing her head.[break][break]

The world shifted again, and Summer recognized the region of ALOLA. However, the first thing she saw was the XATU, standing firmly in front of them.[break][break]

And when it locked eyes with the two of them, her mind was overwhelmed again.
