Oh yeah, she appreciated that. In her own choice of travel companion, Genny hadn't brought along a Pokemon she could ride. So seeing Cap'n Volosenkov throw out a Pokeball, a massive steel snake appearing, she finds herself smiling, small as it is. "Well, that'll shave a lot of time off." Accepting the boost, the tiny redhead climbs onto the massive snake, and once she's fastened in, she, herself, pulls out a Pokeball.[break][break]

And with a release atop the mighty snake, the two-hundred pound shiny Abomasnow appears beside Nikolaj, happily grunting as Genny calls to him. "Frosty, please use Leech Seed to apply vines to assist Captain Volosenkov." It would make climbing much easier for the Captain, and sure enough, the Abomasnow obliges, patting over the side to assist.[break][break]

All the while, Genny keeps an eye to her phone, seeing the structure closely.[break][break]

"Oz is getting closer... it look like an old medieval castle. Hm..." Oz is getting a little too close now. Nothing seems amiss yet, but there's a bad feeling in the back of Genny's head that she can't seem to shake. And added to that...[break][break]

Static-y, and garbled by audio distortion... was that music? "Huh..." Genny reacts concerned. As quickly as it comes, it stops. She waits for Cap'n Volosenkov to give the order to his Steelix to go, hazel eyes fixated on the castle now.[break][break]

The heck was that?

Returning Frosty before long, once Nikolaj sat comfortably on his Steelix, it was already time to go. With it, hazel eyes fixated on the phone, playing that odd audio distortion, when Nikolaj leaned over. Letting the older gentleman see, she points to the structure itself to back-up her claim.[break][break]

"There were a number of reports denoting a mechanized castle. Like an artifact to time, I remember reading that inside were remains of human and Pokemon alike. A good number of those same reports... spoke of guards inside." But did any of them speak on audio distortions on her electronic devices? Nothing she did could shake that, until she muted it.[break][break]

If the audio was messing up, then there was no point in making this short travel journey painful for their ears. Unbeknownst to her that that deed stopped the song from reaching their ears... but not Oz. Oz had been flying back and forth constantly.[break][break]

Like he was dancing.[break][break]

"Oz? Can you move closer, little bird?" Genny smiles to her phone... but it's no use. Her Rowlet will not listen. Now, Genny was concerned.[break][break]

Really concerned. Some kind of wizard was taking hold of Oz.[break][break]

"We should prepare for combat, right Cap'n?" Genny presumes, already fiddling with the four balls she had brought with her. One lie empty, one with Frosty, and the last two for Wander and Ebony. A battle-hardened gaze from her two lovely hazels. She wasn't about to let another person get taken from her.

Genevieve has one Pokeball in her hand now, and readies it along with Niko. Her gaze was fixated now at the guards of the gate. Big monstrous guards, machines patrolling the perimeter. And with the Steelix quickly moving towards the castle, Genny pulled Ebony's Pokeball up.[break][break]

"Ready when you are, Captain." She nods to Cap'n Nikolaj, as the Steelix presses forward in that direction. Two massive guards would be standing at the entrance, green eyes mechanically shining and locking on immediately to the Steelix and the human duo.[break][break]

Genny spots from the sky, her Rowlet, Oz, who was still swaying side-to-side... like he was dancing back and forth, and with deciding to throw Ebony out immediately, she wordlessly commands.[break][break]

"Aias maneuver, Ebony."[break][break]

She didn't need to go more into detail, Ebony would immediately take the opportunity to DOUBLE TEAM, howling as she caught the guard's attention first, duplicating her form into speedy afterimages. Genevieve had practiced, a LOT recently. She had combat plans in place. Aias was like a shield for her, and as such, her Pokemon utilized defenses to study the enemy. If they don't know an enemy, it was all about learning how to fight, and how to put chinks in the armor.[break][break]

Twenty years in Galar had changed Genny, and upped her skill level, that much was certain. She was in top form.[break][break]

Wordlessly nodding towards Nikolaj, she would, if needed, hop off the Steelix if he needed other Pokemon out. Not that the guards in front of them would discriminate if they had more out; on the contrary, they'd probably burst the duo harder.[break][break]

Cap'n Niko releases out that Garchomp, and with it, Genny has the same thought process. It must be a FIRE type, right? As the landshark rushes up to bite, Genny pauses and watches the battle. The monstrosity would scream in agony at the BITE. But it wasn't knocking it down for the count. In fact, a point-blank SCALD-[break][break]

Niko took the words out of her mouth. "Then we should watch out for potential steam if it can rapidly vaporize water." Genny is quick on the uptake, and hops off of the Steelix, landing with a tuck-and-roll.[break][break]

Dark wasn't the most effective, and unfortunately her best choice, right now, was Frosty. "Ebony, Trojan maneuver!" With it, she pulled another two Pokeballs, the first one rolled out, as Ebony sped over top of the rolling ball, intent to mess with the Volcanion's perception. It was working too, as the Double Team from earlier helped Ebony stave off the brunt of the damage from the first Volcanion's STEAM ERUPTION, an immediate frustrated noise beeping from the mechanical beast.[break][break]

The second Pokeball, using the same hand with a little fancy fingerwork in their small forms, returns the Absol as the Pokeball that would have been below her erupts at the moment needed, into Frosty the shiny Abomasnow.[break][break]

"Cap'n, go all out. We can take it." She quickly returns Oz, and points towards her Abomasnow.[break][break]

"Pelian maneuver, Frosty." The Abomasnow puts its arms together, and slams the everliving heck out of the first Volcanion, the beast roaring to life. She felt proud that she could make such a good strong first impression... but Genny knew better than to toot her own horn right now. Fight was going on, and Fire was not Frosty's favorite typing.[break][break]

This was going to be a hard fought battle.[break][break]

It's more of a guess than anything. A higher likelihood of him holding back to keep her safe. Based on his rank alone, being a Captain and all, he would outpace her easy, so that Garchomp could easily throw down harder than she trained. That didn't mean Genny was anyone to scoff at though. Quite the contrary.[break][break]

She was only getting started.[break][break]

With her shorter orange-red hair blowing side to side to the sandstorm, Genny puts an arm over her face to keep it safe from the blowing sand stream. She could feel the cuts over her legs, a cut over her cheek, and Frosty fared little better. They were on a time limit. Last until the Garchomp was out of juice, see where they went from there.[break][break]

The fun part about a non-League-sanctioned struggle, was that rules didn't apply in the same way. With Frosty's slam of a WOOD HAMMER, and Niko's Garchomp making a powerful BULLDOZE, it felt like they had the duo on the ropes... until both Volcanion fired back.[break][break]

The one by Garchomp did, as the previous one did before, rapid vaporization turning into a strike of STEAM ERUPTION to fire point blank, and on the other end, almost like clockwork, it sounded as if the Volcanion that Frosty was near was the victim of a very nasty OVERHEAT.[break][break]

Unfortunately for them, Frosty could only take the one. Grass and Ice are very susceptible to the burning mass of steam that is the soulless beasts here.[break][break]

Biting her lip, a juggle of a Pokeball, and Genny returns to the field her damaged Absol, Ebony after returning Frosty, but with it, comes her order again.[break][break]

"Pelian maneuver." With it, the NIGHT SLASH attempting to strike through the powerful Volcanion, but to no avail despite the damage.[break][break]

Another cut on her cheek. Captain Niko and his Garchomp truly were amazing.[break][break]

She turns towards Niko. "How you doin, Cap'n?" Genny was down one in a half in a few short moments. This was draining her resources, and fast. But at least these seemed to be the only monsters on the field. If they just take'em down, they can check inside the castle. Just a little bit. A little recon.[break][break]

Like the wind, Genny's legs moved, returning Ebony with a fast movement the moment she sped back with a NIGHT SLASH, all as she approached the steel snake and, by help of Nikolaj, grabs back onto the Steelix, reaching over to help the older gentleman back out, as two STEAM ERUPTIONs fired out at them, missed thanks to distance.[break][break]

"Thanks, Cap'n!" She grins, hoping to get her to safety now, an expression filled to the brim with gratitude for the save, as they made their escape... a song filling the air on their exit...[break][break]

Genny took a moment to stare back, as they continued pushing through the distance, her face a mix of displeasure and discomfort.[break][break]

Guess this will have to go into the report.
