So this was meant to become Captain Fox's replacement.

A thought he kept to himself as he was partnered with the other for the whole bird problem. Apparently he was a captain back in Alola and that was enough for Fox but Razz still wanted to see how they worked with others and more. As he messes with the fishing rod he gives the other a look, "I mean I caught a shiny magikarp in the MAGIKARP FISHING GAME the last time this festival was in, does that count?"[break][break]

"They might be different but in the end it's still trying to lure a pokemon to catch it in some sense right?" Razz just counters back as he stands back to watch the ex-captain at work. See if his skills from Alola could apply well here in Hoenn Razz choosing to take a back seat unless the other ranger needed the help. Though if he were really right for the job he hopefully shouldn't. [break][break]

Razz just tilts his head seemingly confused about the other's question, "Why would I kid you about catching a magikarp?" because Razz wouldn't think the other to question about his becoming a captain. It wasn't like many would turn the job down.

Razz keeps his distance from the other as he continues to watch as he tried to go after the Camorant, knowing they weren't really native to either of their regions but still holding on to the belief that the other would be fine. Even as it seemed to have dived down Razz was curious on how far the ex-captain was going to go after it. [break][break]

"No Fox isn't that type of person, but he does plan on stepping down once his kid is born and he recommended you because of your experience in the field, might not be the oldest Ranger there but you still have some good qualities."

Well that was an unfortunate fall but Razz does move forward to offer a hand for the other to grab and pick himself up from the water. Little distractions weren't enough to disway him that easily though. Unlike most the other Captains that were more recent higher Emmett actually had experience and Razz wanted to bring that here. "Yeah there are definitely no other Regions that share our kind of crazy," Well maybe Kanto but from his memory it was mostly just the Rocket problem, not the fact that they were under attack from the literal multiverse itself. Honestly trying to recruit the other felt he was playing that Dugtrio-Ring-Toss Game where Emmett was the Ranger he wanted to hire and everything else was the problem. [break][break]

For now he sighs and just shrugs, "Fine fine we'll see how things go from here," because whether or not Fox takes no as an answer would also be apart of this. Maybe the older ranger had a way to be more convincing, "Thanks for the demonstration of your skills though, its always nice to see Rangers who know what they're doing."
