From one Silph to the next— hello, Delilah Silph!

"Yup." He muttered back, taking a sip from his drink.

He was not going to think too hard about what he had just said, for his own sake.

"I intend to dedicate myself to Hoenn as a physician for the foreseeable future." He said, gathering his chin atop the back of his palm. "Callin' it a concrete goal whilst the war shows no signs of ending feels naive, though."

The goal would never be reached as long as the battles didn't end.

"I had fancier goals before, but they're just side projects nowadays."

Tackling the Elite 4 was just an exercise in ego stroking by now.

"But I'm barely worth discussing! As a dutiful soldier of the Hoenn Army, my future is rather unmalleable at the moment... I'm more curious about what your plans are, Delilah."

Catch up with her family, get more involved with Hoenn's stuff... sure, that made sense. It wasn't concrete, though.

It made sense: after all, his legendary Patron had gifted him the ability to heal others. She was glad to hear he planned to use it to aid Hoenn's citizenry, now that war seemed to be looming on the horizon - not to mention all of the recent natural disasters plaguing the region.[break][break]
A twinge of envy coiled within her as he made not of his once "fancier" goals. She wished she had something fancier to offer the region, like he had - being an Avatar and all - but she supposed, she had fame and fortune on her side. That had to count for something.[break][break]
Once more, she found the conversation taking a turn back towards her own perspective. His flattery was a little heavy-handed, but she didn't mind. She'd always enjoyed the spotlight, after all.[break][break]
"Well, I've got plenty to do in Hoenn - charity events, marketing for my makeup business, photoshoots, acting and singing gigs..." Idols always had a busy schedule. She could hardly imagine how hectic Melody Miro's life must be, being in the Elite Four in addition to her singing career.[break][break]
She paused, sensing an opportunity, finally, to ask him about the primary thing on her mind lately.[break][break]
"I also want to help my brothers, John. As you can imagine, their work is important to me. I've been acquainting myself with the various rifts, for example - to get a sense of what they've both been dealing with." She flashed a coy smile. "But you know, I've heard rumors...that Avatars suffer from a specific disease. Primal Intoxication, yes? You're a healer and an Avatar...do you think it can be cured?"

Hoo boy, she was a busy bee. Maybe it ran in the family; he had certainly never witnessed a moment were FERNANDO SILPH hadn't been busy.

Unless the water-tank dunking counted. He was pretty sure even that was part of his councilman duties, though...

Was MATIAS SILPH busy all the time too? He honestly couldn't see it...

Speaking of her brothers, though—

"Not entirely right." He said simply.

He took a moment to lean back on his chair and stare at the night sky, hands gathering behind his neck to pillow his head as he crossed a leg over the other.

"Avatars of Rayquaza, Kyogre and Groudon are at risk of primal intoxication after prolongued exposure." He explained. "This is because the source of their patron's power is primal energy. The same doesn't apply to other avatars. So far anyway."

He pursed his lips.

"I'm not educated enough in primal radiation and its effects to make any definitive statements— Not sure I would even call it an educated guess, were I to venture it."

Uxie could only speak so much on such a topic. And whatever Eva Morales had passed onto him back in Galar, treatment was not amongst it.

"But... I should look into it more thoroughly, now that you've asked." He said, brow furrowing. "We should be certain on all fronts on this matter."

He would have to pay Eva Morales and illeana reyes another visit.

She leaned in, enraptured, John's musings magnetic. Why had Fernando claimed he was dying, then? Perhaps there was something else going on, unrelated to Avatarship. She made a mental note to check back in with him, demand he clarify further. She was his sister, she wanted to help him: he owed her some kind of explanation, even a simplified one.[break][break]
"Fascinating," she breathed. "Kyogre rampages, no longer tied to the captain - Dross, her name was? And Rayquaza..."[break][break]
Oh. Eva. She paled, realizing the implications.[break][break]
To take her mind off the sudden anxiety she felt for the other woman, she turned her attention to something else John had said. "Apologies for my ignorance, but if primal energy does not...power other Avatars, what does?"[break][break]
She was no scientist, but she knew there were multiple energy sources being studied by the League. Mega-Evolution and Teratsallizatin were made possible by their various innovations. Even an idol such as herself knew how to use those now-common battle accessories.[break][break]
"You're a good man," she added. "For wanting to help people."

Had he only known of FERNANDO SILPH's woes.

He watched her pale briefly, wondering what was going through her mind. Was she only now realizing her brother was at risk of death? No, she wouldn't have been asking in the first place if she hadn't known from the start.

Ah well, that was her business.

"Oh— yer thinking of Infinity Energy." He explained simply. "It sounds fancy, but really, everyone has infinity energy— You, me, that waiter over there, that klefki on his waist, that Cutiefly on the wall."

It could be surprising for many to hear that, specially if they had heard of avatars prior.

"It's life force— bioenergy. The differences are in the quantities." He said. "It's simplified to the point of being wrong to put it this way, but basically: Pokemon have more than humans. And 'legendary' pokemon have more than 'regular' pokemon."

Avatars were made when their deity's infinity energy mixed and mingled with their own... ~~presumably.~~

He didn't immediately respond to the praise, taking a sip of his drink simply.

"Thank you." He said simply, accepting the praise at face value. "You as well, I find rather impressive. Not many would come to an active war zone, even for family."

Specially a family like the Silphs, who were... anything but family-like.
