Her accuracy game with moving targets wasn’t as hot as it was with non-moving targets… that involved something similar to basketball, of course!

She’d fumbled her first few shots, managed a few, however the rest just kept on bouncing out of bounds, or just literally not shooting into the targets.

(Wait until he found out that she could wield a mean rifle at the sharpshooting game booth. But that was another story entirely.)

“Aww,” she remarked once it was obvious the kids won. “We lost.”

"Well, you win some, you lose some, right? Hey, at least the kids are having fun" Josh remarked towards Izumi as the kids began celebrating their victory, high-fiving and whooping in unison. "We'll discuss what you guys want in a bit for a wish, so take some time to discuss it between yourselves and think about it" he recommended to them as he then looked to Izumi.

She was thinking about the Magikarp Fishing booth, however there was someone going around asking for people to join a tug-of-war contest not too far away.

“You two better make it count,” she chimed in; because unlike the other who’d deliberately thrown the game, she really had bad timing with throwing rings into the Ring Toss…

She then tilted her head in the direction of the ‘tug of war’ contest.

“Want to try that next? We take one of the kids and join the opposite team?” she suggested.

Tug of war, aye? Josh listened as Izumi detailed the idea she had. He looked between the kids and an idea soon came to him.

“Hey Zack! Let’s take ‘em on, boys verses girls!” he called out to Zack, who began giggling at the prospect as he and his father took one side.

“Better put that big brain of yours to use, though!” she called from the other side as Lyra excitedly joined her—yep, it was definitely a boys vs girls showdown. With Lyra up front and her at the back, they waited for the signal to drop so they could start pulling at the ropes—

And go!

“Don’t think that just because I’m your wife I’m going to go easy on you!” she taunted the boys’ side of the ropes (specifically Josh), with a wink to match.

There were still so many booths they could visit next… like the Tauros Rodeo ride, but then again it would just be the two of them since the kids weren’t big enough for that attraction yet.

“Come on, Lyra! We can’t lose!” she cheered her daughter on.

Tug of war it was, then. Though when Izumi made her remark, he simply rolled his eyes. Somehow he doubted she ever had any intention of going easy on anybody. Especially after the wounding her pride had apparently taken after losing the ring toss to children.

“Well. Don’t underestimate us” Josh warned as he and then Zack started pulling before Izumi could even start.

Oh no, not this time.

There was this devious grin on her face as she already knew that she’d thrown the earlier game—no, she hadn’t thrown it but her husband did—and Lyra commenced pulling at the same time she did! Both sides looked pretty even—at least until Lyra got the idea of doing the ‘counting’ thing (something she must’ve seen with other kids at the playground) and she immediately cued in on that.

“Alright, let’s go! One, two—three!” she cheered on, both girls pulling at the same time and hoping they could throw their counterparts’ weight off-balance! With their synchronized pulling, she hoped they could—

“Heave-ho!” she yelled as she took on a pirate-like accent; with that hopefully the girls could throw the boys off balance!

At the same time, Lyra took on the part of being ‘pirate captain Izumi’s first mate’ and began yelling like a pirate too, hoping they could put a spin on their silliness and turn it into some kind of pirates versus pirates thing!

With a tremendous sudden pull that the other side was probably not expecting, a burst of force made her gain traction on the line and yank; did she see the boys fall down?

“We won, Mom!” she heard Lyra cheer a few moments afterward.

Yeah, there was no winning this one. Josh knew it, and as soon as they started acting like pirates, especially. Zack however, didn’t give up even at the end. But in the end, the girls pulled it out.

Zack pouted in frustration, but Josh patted his head. “We’ll practice for next time” Josh promised, which seemed to cheer him up a little. Though with that…

He started to notice a crowd beginning to form and signs beginners to crop up about the fireworks show.

“Looks like the fireworks show is starting. Shall we?”
