Or well, perhaps she should say it's something that most people wouldn't ever think of doing. But when you live and breathe adventures, refusing to answer the call of the unknown is simply impossible.[break][break]

Today, of all days, is one where she has to panic just a little more than usual. The one who she's diving down with is a rather observant adventurer going by the name of angelo vestri. Now, this was a face she hadn't gotten to see often and in all honesty, she's quite happy to see him doing so well... with whatever things he may be doing in his life. But when she has a rather pressing secret sealed behind her lips, she finds herself mentally begging the Ralts in her arms not to make any fusses.[break][break]

"It's dangerous."[break][break]

Well, what isn't already dangerous about their situation? Reiner rolls his eyes as gestures for her to finish her sentence. With her voice sounding a little hoarse, she tries her best to clear her throat before starting once more.[break][break]

"The radiation up ahead, I mean. Messes with your head." Looking to the Luxray, Eris watches as he taps lightly at her sync stone to check if it's working. "We could share? Makes it less bad to deal with?"

Before the day that had seen him in front of the Ancient Tomb, he certainly would have insisted that Eris was by no means to take on the burden of the radiation herself. Not even in a fingertip worth.

She’d always been that little kid who’d always gotten herself into places she really ought not to, playing make-believe in a war torn region in which she really had no business being in.

But now, after that day, where memories of Circhester linger in his dreams like viewing a picture through a veil of snow, Angelo feels she’s not quite as incompetent and fragile as her age suggests.

Between him and Eris Halla , webbed psychically like string, he finds a connection had been stitched. Somehow. Somewhen.

“Thanks for the warning, kiddo. You're starting to sound like a Deep Sea tour guide.” He chuckles, humouring Eris as they descend into the Deep Sea and she gives him an impromptu lesson.

It’s certainly hard to shake off that pre-established thought process.

Angelo’s eyes turn into a squint at her suggestion, as if trying to figure out which younger, grinning sibling was guilty of stealing the last cookie from the jar.

He thinks he could trust her to handle it. Guess he’d see…

“Just stay close to me an’ Sprout. Its aromatherapy helps with your head.” He compromises, lifting said little hedgehog out of his backpack. “And let me know if it gets too much. We already know you’re tough, alright?”

He couldn't take it all, Angelo guessed. Eris wouldn't be able to swing a pickaxe alone and get a decent haul with her weedle arms.

Panic briefly sparks in the air, a passing sensation assaulting the senses then fading away as Eris manages to get the tiny fairy under control again.[break][break]

"You don't need to worry too much about me!" She shoots him a smile made crooked by stress, wincing at the Ralts' sharp slap on her wrist. Much to Reiner's dismay, babysitting duty is handed off to him. The unruly bunch is placed atop his head and traded for a pick, the girl signing at the Ralts to help calm their minds.[break][break]

[attr="class","angelomain"]Situating itself between Angelo and Eris, the little shaymin begins to release wisps of natural perfume from bright pink flowers. An aromatherapy drifting in the air to calm the senses of the party.

That doesn’t stop Sprout from twitching its button nose in the ralts direction however, curious by its wiggly behaviour.

“Who said I was worried about you, squirt?” Comes the quick-tongued retaliation, a mischievous eyebrow quirked in Eris’s direction. “Maybe I just want to avoid the hassle of gettin’ grilled by your guardians, if you land yourself in trouble on my watch.”

He probably didn't worry enough. If he'd been a responsible adult, Angelo would have escorted her back home long ago.

But hey, why not let her have an adventure or two, eh?

Leaving his backpack on the cavern floor, Angelo collects his now-trusty pickaxe and begins to get to work. Standing close to Sprout, he finds the hallucinations of enclosing walls and shifting sand at his feet aren’t quite as clear as they may have been.

“Oh yeah?” Bending down, Angelo scoops up a chunk of rock that he’d chipped away from the main clump. He rubs dirt off the surface on his jacket sleeve. “Where do you give the Halla Tours?”

Though it wouldn't be so much as a square up as it would be 'now you're staying for dinner'. "W- well, Razz and Doug probably wouldn't do anything? We've been down here before."[break][break]

They were also well aware of how easily she got herself into trouble, after all. Even when she wasn't even trying to do things.[break][break]

"Anyways, I do my tours... just about anywhere. I mean, look at this funky core. Who knows what hitting it might do, y'know?" She falls silent for a moment, then looks to angelo vestri. "Wanna hit it?"[break][break]

Reiner growls at her and gets a rather cheeky smile in turn.[break][break]

As Sprout twitches its nose, her Ralts starts to make faces at it. Feelings begin to spark in the air, curiosity and joy wrapped up by a thin veil of paranoia and dread. It's a bundle cradled ever so carefully that quickly burns up as the psychic turns their head towards the cave entrance.[break][break]

Something approaches, a dark cloud of energy and dust kicked up as she finds herself standing before the Tree of Life once more... Strangely discoloured pokemon lurking in the corners of her vision as claws scrape against crystals and stone. Their bloodlust hangs heavy, the stench of death almost strong enough to overpower the Aromatherapy Sprout gives off. Eris takes a step back, a hand instinctively raised in front of her Ralts.[break][break]

There are shrill cries that echo through the cave, the trio of voices she had heard upon that fateful day as the red chains crumbled before her very eyes. Frustration bubbles and threatens to overflow, a pink mark briefly shimmering against her wrist and fading just as quick.

D A R K N E S S

No matter how hard she tries to press against her temple, the pressure in her head just doesn't seem to dissipate. And she winces, shutting her eyes tight as she draws in a deep breath through gritted teeth.[break][break]

"Angelo...? I think... yeah, not feeling too good."[break][break]

[attr="class","angelomain"]Angelo looks over at Eris for a long, blank-stared beat. After all, it feels like she’d presented him with a puzzle that had already been filled in.

Then his lips split into a grin, on the cusp of agreeing out of both morbid curiosity for the ramifications of an organ poke on a colossal horror and humouring her. “You want me to touch it, don’t you?”

He doesn’t get to give it a go.

Instead, darkness seeps in the corner of the room and claws of gloom begin to scrape against the smooth edges of stone. Angelo can imagine the sound of nails on a chalkboard, dragging away shards of sanity.

Claws stretch towards his ankles, loom over his head as if it wishes to swallow him into an enclosed cocoon of nothing. However out of the corner Eris cradles her head, wrapped up in her own trauma as she stands protectively in front of her little ralts. So stubborn.

They both couldn’t lose themselves…

“Yeah. Me too, kiddo. Me too.” His hand rests upon her shoulder, acting as a firm tether to the real world in which they occupy. No matter how grim and dank it was in the Ultra Deep Sea. “Let’s get out of here. I could do with some fresh air,” its a lie for her benefit, mostly.

Transforming into its sky form, Sprout shifts into a canine shape and takes into the air above their heads. With a defiant yip, beads of bright energy fly into the dark corners of the cavern, SEED FLARE bathing the nightmares with light.

Angelo gives Eris an encouraging pat on the shoulder and a distraction. “Still, I bet I got more rocks than you.”

You must escape with your gathered material. Your ally or allies may be incapacitated by the paranoia settling in their psyches, or perhaps, the eldritch mutations beginning to metamorphose their body or bodies.[break][break]

Depending on how much your characters have mined, you may need to lessen your extracted load to ensure successful escape from this wretched place. After all, the horrors that reside here may make chase.
