To Cillian, the immense PRESSURE exuded by the Shadow Lugia is an immense relief. Fear had torn sharp through his heart at the sight of the whirlpool's yawning maw, yet that comforting weight assures him of its benevolence.[break][break]

He feels the pull of the current as it closes over his head, but she will not let it drag him under.[break][break]

Only when the threat of drowning has passed does Cillian's attention return to before, and he kicks up toward the surface with full intentions of finishing the job his Pokémon had started.[break][break]

Lugia's PRESSURE splits the heavens, and RAIN begins to fall. The shadowed Guardian breaks the surface, water sluicing off her violet wings as they stretch in want of sky.[break][break]

Her breath catches in her throat, and she forgets herself for a moment as she's caught in the gaze of the beast.[break][break]

She prays breathlessly for a moment, before the heat of the battle catches up with her. [break][break]

The maelstrom incarnate takes to the skies. There's only one thing she can think of, one last-ditch way out of this predicament. So in over her head, she hopes this works. [break][break]

"SAGI! IF YOU CAN HEAR ME, I NEED YOU!"[break][break]

Shadows congeal all around her, and the ghost that dwells in them opens her eyes with a wide grin. As if waiting, biding her time watching her master struggle, the gengar lets out a cold laugh as her master begs for her to intervene. Now is the time of monsters, and she is perfectly at home in this moment of terror. If only she might prolong her master's suffering further.[break][break]

"HELP ME! PLEASE! WHATEVER YOU WANT, IT'S YOURS!"[break][break]

A wide, grinning mouth opens wide beneath Tsubaki and the gengar swallows the girl whole, turning her red eyes down at the beast who can only be considered a living god. In that shared hypnotic gaze, the gengar dares to put even a god to sleep, for even gods must eventually come to rest.[break][break]

In Lugia's wake, Cillian surfaces.[break][break]

Though he cannot hear her words over the pouring rain, Hyakkaryōran Tsubaki's desperation rings clear. She is afraid. She should be afraid. Though he does not yet recognize her as a defector he must hunt, she remains prey.[break][break]

The predator, the Harbinger, pulls himself onto Lugia's broad back.[break][break]

Her wings spread, scattering the surf beneath them, and the legend lets out a haunting peal of whalesong as battle-cry. But as her ruby gaze meets that of a new arrival to the conflict, she falters. Her long neck droops, and her eyes close.[break][break]

"Damn it," Cillian mutters, as she falls ASLEEP.[break][break]

She will not stay that way for long, but it buys the enemy precious time. Though Cillian reaches for the Genesect's pokeball with intent to pursue, his reaction time is delayed by surprise. He will not send it out in time.[break][break]

Eelektross swings a DRAGON TAIL toward the Gengar, retaliating for its offense.

She lets out a wicked laugh, preparing her seasoning. [break][break]

The shapes of sinister monsters erupt from her shadowy body, made of the blackened skies that surround them. They seek the dreamer, pursuing her in her sleep, sending out tendrils that inflict nightmares upon her. [break][break]

But before she can sink her teeth in, before she can taste this delectable meal, the Harbinger's Elektross batters her with a tail sheathed with draconic energy. [break][break]

Sagi flinches before she's uprooted and thrown across the sea, unable to withstand the momentum of the technique. Like being swept away by a tsunami, she hurtles far, far away, Tsubaki nested comfortably inside her body.[break][break]

A feast shall have to wait.[break][break]
