Hideo let out a sigh.

"Sounds like they'll just find whatever excuse they want to attack people and Gyms. And I doubt they ever go around murdering and kidnapping on 'accident'."

That just didn't make any sense to him - then again, Rocket as it was now was all about just causing as much death and destruction as possible. "Best I can do is make sure they're not inclined to have an 'accident' at my Gym, then."

The mention of running away didn't sit well with him either, the boy facing away from Eris. "...if it doesn't endanger other people, then yeah, I guess I'd run and get help. But I couldn't just abandon people at my Gym if Rocket's attacking. I wouldn't leave people in danger like that."

He could call for help, at the very least, but leaving his Gym in such a dangerous situation would've been wrong. Heck, even if it wasn't his Gym, he'd try to stick around to help.

"So 'accidentally' destroying stuff. On top of all the intentional destruction they do." Hideo wasn't budging on that; he'd been around for too much of Rocket's destructive acts. Their efforts at trying to stop the League from protecting Hoenn from the meteor had permanently soured his view of them - and they hadn't been doing much to change his mind.

"It's not like I'm looking to throw my life away. Or anyone's lives." Human or Pokemon. "I just don't want to leave people to get killed or let their lives get ruined. People need Gym Leaders like me to be there when things are tough."

And how could he do that if he ran away the moment things got too tough?

"sigh Let's get going. We got more Rockets to catch. The kinds that don't just 'accidentally' try to kidnap me or something."

She knows what she speaks of, she knows just how skewed her own view is, but she can't give him any more context. She doesn't want to, because now she fears just how much Hideo would end up hating the person she trusts the most. Hideo didn't want to argue. Not right now, not with Eris.

And he knew that not everyone in Rocket was a chaotic-evil monster bent on destroying everything - but Rocket as a whole wasn't doing much to prove itself as anything other than a force of greed and destruction.

The good people in Rocket would have to realize that and get out. Like Eris had done.

And not go back like Chu-E probably did.

Hideo would continue on his little hunt, catching and sending back Rockets he'd thrown into disarray. He wouldn't stop Eris from splitting away from him, if she chose to; he'd just say he got into a fight with Rockets and she slipped away in the confusion.
