The open skies over the ocean... a dark blue for the night. Genevieve held the reins in her hands over a new acquaintance; Pet Shop. The Pidgeot was still getting used to her, as she was to Genny. It was shaky, terrifying to be so high up, but so liberating. Genny had never been this high up before.[break][break]

"Wow..." She finds herself quietly enjoying the stars in the sky. The clouds, and the birds flying about. Everything felt so different to down below. Down below, war. Up here...? Nah.[break][break]

While fastened to Pet Shop with a saddle, and her boots in two spots the saddle had on it, she felt like she could freely maneuver.[break][break]

Now, however, shaky as Genevieve was...[break][break]

She was looking for any of the enemy. If they frequented the skies, she'd have to do her best to knock'em down. Not clip the wings, but make sure to show no quarter, none such at all.[break][break]

it had been a while since ollie had found Genevieve Cromwell in that bar, and in that time, it seemed that the other ranger had picked up the pieces of her shattered heart. or at least, it seemed that way, and ollie was glad to see that she was finally coming back to her real self.

[break][break] he was glad for the opportunity to learn who it was.

[break][break] interdream mist combined with wind gusted behind him as he appeared behind the redhead atop of his own pidgeot. saffron's wings were wide as they covered genny in brief shadow, before ollie lowered himself to her side.

[break][break] ollie's face was bright and unharmed, unaware at whatever darkness may have been hiding in the starlit mist.

"Shoot them down." None ordered, a hand over his helmet right around where his ayes should be. A pair of pokemon float idly by as he watched the Ranger gliding above him. He'd been moving through between the shore and the cave systems. He hadn't seen many rangers out. But these two? Alone? Better take out what he can while moving back towards the HEATRAN problem. [break][break]

Delta 2.0 floats a bit higher before psychic energy levitates rock and dirt nearby. Quickly, the clump hardens and shifts like its being compressed before being shot out directly at ollie morales through ROLLOUT. [break][break]

His other pokemon doesn't hesitate either and disappears in the blink of an eye. Wind whistles as the Ledyba moves towards Genevieve Cromwell with a sudden AIR SLASH.

Seeing the Head Ranger in person was a morale boost, and Genny's hazel eyes light up the night, as she feels the gloved hand on her shoulder.[break][break]

"A lot better, actually. Thank you, Ollie." She beams, unaware to the knife in the dark. With it, the order comes in, and unbeknownst to Genny, the AIR SLASH comes in to her back, and the sound of pain echoes from her as she takes the slice. Her back was bleeding, but with it, so long as Ollie was safely on Pet Shop or his own Pidgeot, Pet Shop barrel rolls, damn near throwing Genny off to plummet, but holding on for dear life, Genny gets reoiented. With a look to the sky, she cannot see the opponent.[break][break]

Curses. The night sky wasn't giving them options. But Genny has an ace.[break][break]

"Hundred percent. The enemy is here..." the stinging on her back makes it hard to concentrate. The bird caws again, and flies through the air with an AERIAL ACE to make sure she reaches her target. Failure chance? Zero.

Delta 2.0 starts dropping suddenly, put to sleep by the Head Ranger and Neon returns them. While his Ledyba yelps, blown back by an AERIAL ACE. To protect herself, they blast out a BUG BUZZ to repel the pair while Neon gets ready to intercept himself. With Delta snoozing, he'd have to get involved. [break][break]

He climbs on his Altaria as she croons excitedly. Once he's on, she takes off, zooming straight for the younger cadet to back up their partner. "Get us some space, Ada." he ordered, the lights in his helmet coming to live as his electronic voice rang out. The Altaria, cries in acknowledgement before using DRAGON PULSE as his Ledyba pulls in closer to the duo. [break][break]

"Aright League, you know the drill. Back of or I'll make you regret it." he warned, rolling his neck as Ada floated protectively next to Lima.

The AERIAL ACE makes its mark, and as Genny is hit with a BUG BUZZ, she can feel her ears burning, as she grabs to her head. Pet Shop turns back, her own ears bleeding from the buzz, but not affected by the attack. Though she may be a new addition, she has a duty to keep Genny safe. As she flies and spins to get away, Genny grabs onto her head. She's banged up already.[break][break]

But with a shake of her head, she gets her bearings, hazel eyes frustrated and pointed forward at the attacker.[break][break]

"On the contrary-" Pet Shop instinctively dives downwards, nosediving to attempt and dodge the DRAGON PULSE, as she pulls back up almost like a rocket, and attempts to flank the Altaria she can see. Genny frowning at the Rocket before her.[break][break]

"-you're under arrest!" Shaky as she was, she holds up her Ranger badge, though had to see, it shines with a dull shine in the moonlight.[break][break]

This guy knows what he's doing. Her whole body is shaking. To protect her trainer, Pet Shop attempts to use WHIRLWIND, to blow the attacker away.[break][break]

Courage is so fickle thousands of feet above the ocean.

[break][break] hold on. as rangers, they were government employees. they had the jurisdiction in certain cases. but they weren't — he wasn't —

[break][break] but she is strong, maybe even stronger than him in this instance. she takes control of the situation, flashing her ranger badge, and then attempts to WHIRLWIND their opponents into submission.

[break][break] regardless of how he felt, ollie would have her back. no matter what. they were in this together.

[break][break] a DRAGON PULSE soars past, his pidgeot arcing to the side to avoid the blast. but he's quick to attempt a follow-up assist.

[break][break] "genny!" he shouted. "i have your back. come on, peaches! let's go." his noctowl let out a loud trill as she flew forwards, before purple light coils between it's talons and a blast of EXTRASENSORY sails towards the rocket.

He stares back at Genny, the LEDs in his helmet shifting to a frown before letting out a robotic giggle fit. "Is League recruitment that low that they've resorted to deputizing Rangers?" he finds the notion hilarious. [break][break]

But the WHIRLWIND shoves him and Ada back, and Lima is forced to intercept, blasting Pet Shop with ENCORE to keep it busy while Neon and Ada recover. [break][break]

Ada shrieks, shaking mid flight as the EXTRASENSORY hits and Neon grips cotton as she struggles to recover, shaking her head. Neon turns his eyes back to the badge wielding rookie, and then at the Head Ranger before her. "Ada, get me to Morales." he said, order quick and low as the Altaria lets out a burst of speed. [break][break]

She soars past Genny, cutting straight for Ollie while letting out a DISARMING VOICE. But Ada aims to slam herself onto the Pidgeot, as Neon focused his attention solely on Ollie. The gears in his head spinning quickly as his Alatria obeys, and his Ledyba tries to keep the other girl busy.

If this situation were less strenuous, than the fact that the Rocket had laughed at her for claiming he was under arrest would have affected her. Embarassed her. If anything, she had looked up to paxton concordas, and if nothing else, wanted to emulate that...[break][break]

Unfortunately, thanks to a lovely little ENCORE from the Rocket, all Pet Shop can do is blast another Whirlwind. Something that Genny would have to contend with. When the Rocket ignores her, Genny considers an idea.[break][break]

If Pet Shop can only blast with wind, then there was a way to fight back.[break][break]

Confidence surges, as she orders Pet Shop to dive again, the Ledyba not even on her mind, ignored. Ollie has her back, so she has his. And as she dives downwards with Pet Shop, she looks below, directly below where Neon was. Hazel eyes move upwards.[break][break]

He'd do best not to underestimate her. "Whirlwind, straight up. Blast them out of the sky." With a clap of wings, Pet Shop throws everything into the clapping of wings. If he wanted an encore...[break][break]

He'll get one.

[break][break] a gleam of PROTECT shakes around his pidgeot as the altaria slams into them, just as ollie's arms stretch outwards in an attempt to grab that awful helmet. bright mint-blue. digitized colors. his fingers dig into the fabric, sharp.

[break][break] his eyes widen.

[break][break] "it's... you!"

Lima can't move fast enough, chasing after Genny and Pet Shop and slamming into the pair with MACH PUNCH. She buzzes, worried as she takes over the task of defense despite being so small. But even so, Lima does her very best to veer the pair off course while Mint and Ada did their work. [break][break]

Neon stays focused, LED grin broadening as Ollie snapped at him as he made a beeline for the Head Ranger. The shield of PROTECT stands to be a pain in the ass but instead of fleeing, Ollie decides to grab at him instead. This catches him a little off guard but he rolls with it. [break][break]

Calloused fingers dig into thick fabric, a strange almost windbreaker but thicker with thick, heavy black underneath and the slightest show of latches for Neon's helmet. The last time Neon had been this close to Ollie was during his battle with fern delaney during POSTDORM. He'd fought with Caleb Harcourt for a little bit while Fern enacted their grudge. He'd killed some pokemon that day too. [break][break]

"Hey, you. Come here often?" he asked, voice pitch shifting under the effects of a voice changer and autotune. [break][break]

The WHIRLWIND from underneath hits, blasting all four upwards before Neon can make a move towards Ollie's Pidgeot. "WHOA-!" he shouts as the feeling of a heavy weight around him is accompanied by the lurch in his stomach. They're falling again. [break][break]

Neon is wild, attempting to get his bearing and at least fall, toes first. "ADA!" but the Altaria is already shooting out a MOONBLAST towards Genevieve Cromwell and Pet shop before taking a steep nosedive after them. [break][break]

Meanwhile, Neon is right where he liked to be, snuggled into some huge dude's pecs. It's an almost familiar feeling, tugging at the back of his head like a memory from somewhere. And then the howling of wind rushing past them and the discomfort in his stomach reminds him he's about to die. [break][break]

"Let go, idiot! We have to slow our fall!" he hissed, static filling the space around his words after he managed to get his bearings. "Haven't you ever seen sky divers?!" he added, leaning back and spreading his legs.

Heart sink.[break][break]

Ollie begins to plummet. And Genny was the cause. She managed to get who she was aiming at, the Rocket plummeting, but killing the Head Ranger in the same motion? When he was behind her one-hundred percent? She's distracted.[break][break]

And it makes it worse when she's nearly MOONBLASTed off Pet Shop, the feeling so intense and painful that only adrenaline is keeping her conscious. But now, she's on a mission. Pet Shop dives the moment Genny takes the reins. Even if she's flimsy in the sky, she had to get Head Ranger Morales to safety. No matter what. So, with an order, even if Pet Shop can do nothing but wind, she has to get underneath them. She has to go faster than the Altaria.[break][break]

And so, she grips, and feels the wind running through her air, attempting to get further, faster, before either of them hit the ground, and she commands again.[break][break]

"WHIRLWIND." And there it is. The gust of wind again, to push them back upwards, to slow their descent. Right below them.[break][break]

Encore? Sure. It messed with her, but if it pushed both of them up slightly, she could likely grab Ollie, or the Rocket. Or both. Reaching her hand out, she reaches a foot too far, holding on barely to get to Ollie.[break][break]

"OLLIE!"[break][break]

Ever see a four foot eleven woman catch her body weight twice over in a himbo Head Ranger? No? They all were about to.
