"thanks again for helping me out with catching some pokemon, big sis genny!" the coordinator alights at the simple act of being near the senior ranger, a woman more experienced and reliable than momo could ever be, but whose kindness and warmth makes momo comfortable enough to be in her presence, nonetheless. and on top of that, the roads outside of oldale town are picturesque and quaint, making momo think that this scene really is out of a storybook, the kind she used to read when she was younger! "ooh, i hear some rustling, maybe a little guy's nearby?" momo glances around them, curious. she has pokemon and pokeballs for the occasion, she just needs a sign for something that's right for her and her other poke-friends, as well!

Just a short year ago, Genny had come here to Hoenn her first time. Here, she enrolled into the Slateport Rangers. In that time, she re-invented her whole life. Every morning before six AM, she was awake, jogging a mile. Every meal was carefully calorie-coded, to ensure she stayed in shape. Every day off, was another day of work.[break][break]

Diligence was who she was. It was who she always was. She was hardworking.[break][break]

So when asked by someone like Momo, younger yet full of life, full of sunshine, and full of happiness, Genny didn't just say yes; she let Momo decide where. It was a small escort mission, really, and it was its own reward.[break][break]

"Not a problem, Momo. Any time! Just be careful!" What a big perky smile, beamed back and responded to. So quaint. With Momo searching, all Genny had to do was watch. And if one came up she wanted, she'd fish out a ball. But this was Momo's day. First and foremost.[break][break]

Next to her, floating quietly and making her own noises, Wright was bouncing on her own wings. She hadn't had too many times out and about.[break][break]

But Genny had brought her lucky charm. That is. Wright's SUPER LUCK. Maybe they'd give them something good? Here was hoping.

"i'll be careful!" momo summons her chikorita, lovingly named chica, out to accompany them. the little grass pokemon had once belonged to genevieve, so it means so much to momo that big sis genny would entrust the pokemon in momo's care, instead. chica coos happily, and momo keeps her close, motioning to look out for something interesting. [break][break]

"wait, i think i hear something rustling over there!" the coordinator points to a small grove of trees and the tall grass between them. she hears the cry of a plusle, which prompts her to put a hand on her pokeball. but then, but then she sees it. the butt, the heart-shaped butt that belongs to only one pokemon (that she knows of, anyway). [break][break]

"yamper, you're coming home with me! chica, use razor leaf!" the chikorita sends out a flurry of sharp leaves in the direction of the wild yamper, and the electric dog pokemon yelps out in surprise: perfect. momo tosses a pokeball, and once the capture is complete, looks at big sis genny with stars in her eyes. "i did it!! wow, do you think we could keep going? i wanna find more friends out here!"

Pushing a strand of her orange-red hair behind an ear, she watches Momo take the lead. With her own Chikorita no less, Genny happily watches the tiny being coo out, and all she can do is grin.[break][break]

It wasn't that Genny couldn't take care of her. Quite the contrary. Genevieve was more than capable. But nothing beats putting the right Pokemon to the right home, and seeing Momo light up when she was given that little grass Pokemon meant the world. That part of it never got old. Seeing the smile on her face.[break][break]

It really was like having a little sister sometimes.[break][break]

Seeing the whole battle, the surprise the Yamper had, and the Pokeball, Genny crossed her arms happily, watching the little dog get caught in mere moments after a Razor Leaf. And when she turns around... stars.[break][break]

"Heh. As long as you need to be out here, Momo. I'm open!"[break][break]

She wasn't going anywhere at all. Genny would stay here for as long as Momo needed the company. And, keeping the closest thing to a sister safe? That did her heart good. Little Wright just bounces quietly, watching and staying near Momo. The more she could help her get Pokemon she wanted, the better.

"you're the best, big sis genny!" she really is, for who else would take such good care of momo? who would see a good match between some pokemon and trainers and allow it to be? and when chica one day grows into a huuuge meganium, momo will be happy to share that experience with genny, too! "i hear something in the distance...what's that?" momo carefully investigates the source of the next noise she hears. there are a few pokemon flying too fast for her to see, but then, in a most glorious and empty meadow, lies her next friend in waiting. [break][break]

a beautiful bulbasaur! the perfect starter friend for chica! the pink-haired girl has to hide her full excitement, so she doesn't scare the bulbasaur with her energy by accident! [break][break]

she waits for the bulbasaur to turn its back, before striking it with a poke ball. it doesn't resist for long, and momo squeals at yet another successful capture! bulbasaur is coming home with her! "this is so fantastic! okay, maybe one more little looksie ahead, and i'll be good. there are so many cute friends out here!" [break][break]

So adorable. Genny couldn't help but melt. She was the best? Genevieve felt her lips tremble. Was this how she was when she moved to Hoenn? This innocence... she missed it. These days, she's reminded of her mission that nearly broke her, or the loss of Mr. Business. But right now, keeping that innocence held tight mattered more than anything.[break][break]

And... maybe she could be the best big sister to this adorable little creampuff?[break][break]

Watching her go after a Bulbasaur makes all the difference. The perfect friend for Chica, and one that Genny can't help but marvel at. Little Wright continues to hover close by, the Togetic watching from a distance as Momo does what she does best.[break][break]

And with the capture, Genny throws a fist up. "Good job, Momo! You're a natural!" A Yamper and a Bulbasaur, back-to-back? What a good stroke of luck.

"yay! thanks so much!" she'd never been a big fan of just catching pokemon for fun, if only because she felt sad that she wouldn't have a home for each and every little guy. but as her travels have brought her to hoenn, momo realizes that having more pokemon in case of emergencies is a good idea. though in this case, the only emergencies that yamper and bulbasaur can solve are cute ones, hehe! [break][break]

but being with big sis genny has taught momo something...she had always wanted siblings in her life, especially a sister. an unconditional friend, a stalwart ally, a reliable and responsible older sister that makes momo feel safe. and that's a difficulty feeling to capture these days, so momo clings onto it, and sticks closer to genny as a result. [break][break]

"your togetic is super cute by the way! how'd you guys meet?" a simple question to pass the time, especially because the nearby foongus and electabuzz don't exactly stick out to momo, and she's fine to pass them by, instead. [break][break]

She's so cute, it's unfair. She has Genny blown out of the water, and it shows in her soft smile. She's the older, reliable sister... being an only child, it really was lonely. The amount of guys she hung out with in Alola was far too many.[break][break]

Little Wright makes a chime, spinning around Momo, and making her cry, as Genny places both hands on her hips. "Well, it was when I-" And she stops a moment. And remembers her date in Rustboro, with her ex-boyfriend.[break][break]

And she immediately shrivels up, her soft smile twitching.[break][break]

"-went to Rustboro with my, at the time, boyfriend. Caught Wright here as a little baby." She ruffles Wright's little head, a grin over her lips, as she pulls the Togetic in close. "One day, she'll grow into the Togekiss she wants to be." It was inevitable. One day, she would be all grown up.[break][break]

As she looks over her Pokeballs on hand, she had her own Sylveon, her Lycanroc, her Duskull, her Teddiursa, and her Pidgeot. She considers releasing all of them out for this occasion.[break][break]

Releasing her Teddiursa and her Sylveon, Orville and Serenity pop out with happy sounds themselves, the little teddy bear hopping up to the Togetic to try to fly, while Serenity walked over with all the flair of a regal queen. "Orville. Serenity. This is Momo. Momo, Orville and Serenity." All three Pokemon would chime happily to Momo in unison. A sense of unity and friendship between her Pokemon.

there's a catch in genny's voice and the slightest wrinkle in her happy smiles when reminiscing about the old boyfriend. momo's expression softens — she hadn't meant to bring up old memories like that. [break][break]

but not all of it is bad! the super cute togetic has stuck it through with genny, and it's all because of a chance encounter during that time. momo giggles as the pokemon flies around her, and reaches out to give the softest touch against its pearl-white wings. "aw, that's great! i'm happy for little wright, but maybe you're not so little, huh?" another laugh escapes the coordinator as she reaches out again to gently touch wright, a small budding show of affection and friendship. [break][break]

"oh my gosh, so nice to meet you, orville and serenity!" she happily introduces herself to genny's teddiursa and sylveon, giving them both big squeezes! so soft, so fluffy! "since we're all out having a lovely day, i want you guys to meet some of my other pokemon, too." momo summons aimi the tinkaton and silque the sylveon out to the field, clapping at the sight of two sylveons next to each other. "let's all be best friends, okay? and play nice!" that last statement made especially towards aimi, who just grins mischievously in response. [break][break]

as their pokemon play around and greet each other, momo glances at chica, and realizes the chikorita is motioning for her trainer to investigate something. the pink-haired girl nods, and follows chica's lead. eating a few berries dropped from a nearby tree is... a wild cherubi, innocent and hungry! it hasn't even noticed momo or chica yet, and the coordinator reaches for a spare poke ball without a second thought. [break][break]

"you're mine!" momo cries out triumphantly while tossing a ball. chica helps with a razor leaf, and though the move isn't very effective against cherubi, it's enough of a force to surprise the cherry pokemon, and lower its guard as momo's poke ball hits it square on the stem. shake once, shake twice, shake three times and...! "yes!" the perfect day for momo! she has more friends than she knows what to do with! yamper, bulbasaur, and now cherubi! [break][break]

"today has been just the greatest! thanks soooo much, big sis genny!" momo hugs the other with a running start, laughing and giggling all the while. it's not just one or two or three friends that momo has made today, but many and she counts herself lucky that despite everything, there will always be wonderful people in her life to remind her of the abundant joy that exists all around her. what a great day! [break][break]

All of Genny's Pokemon had the same thought enter their mind at the same time, and it matched Genny pretty well. Wright would spin in the air, making quiet noises as she spins in place, with Orville and Serenity immediately coming over to the new Pokemon out on the field. Serenity attaches immediately to the other Sylveon, stepping in place, with Orville by little Aimi and the hammer.[break][break]

Momo was too cute. So precious. As Genny watches her move towards a tree with that Chikorita. With a cross of her arms, she leans against a tree, a Cradily hanging from the tree now. With her success, seeing her cheer has Genny respond, and when she is given the running hug, Genny pulls her close to her, the redhead laughing.[break][break]

"You're welcome, Momo!" She's red in the face, happy she could make Momo's day, and what makes it even better, is how Orville, Wright, and Serenity move to hugs around them as well.[break][break]

Genny is giggling herself, able to hold her ground and enjoy the closeness to another, before she lets go. For just a moment.[break][break]

"Okay! You ready to go?" She releases her last Pokemon, a big boof of an Arcanine, who gives the happiest bark, as Zagreus hits the scene. A Pokemon to ride back to town, and the big boof would lick on Momo's face.
