Stuck with the task of finding out more information about the current situation with Rocket, Noel and Remiel were chosen as the ones to sneak their way around an enemy camp and see what they could find out. It was the first time the two had ever met each other and Noel wasn't suire what to make of his character just yet, hopefully this mission would be easy enough to just get it over with as soon as possible but he was never one for stealth.[break][break]

"Hey Remiel, over here" Noel beckons Remiel over to a nearby bush, settling himself in as he kneels down onto the ground. "What do you think they've got going on in there? Seems like a bunch of no good business probably.[break][break]

They were situated on a cliff that allowed them to have a bird's eye view of the entire camp. Rocket grunts were coming in and out and carrying all sorts of supplies around to various facilities. Luckily no one had noticed them yet and hopefully it would stay that way.

So far the LEAGUE had done well in pairing him with capable trainers during assignments. However this time, Remiel was hoping that the one that had been assigned to him would not stick out like a CRYSTABLOOM at night. Discretion was particularly important for a reconnaissance mission such as this, after all.

Upon finding Noel Parker crouched by a bush, the black-haired prince is slightly relieved for the time being. At least this young man wasn't the 'guns blazing' type that he had come across many times in Hoenn. As Remiel comes to a crouch beside him, a small HELIOPTILE waddles in tow. It greets Noel with a quiet little chirrup.

"Looks like they might be setting up some sort of communications relay..." The former ADMIN states as he observes the enemy team with his binoculars. "That will spell trouble for every League agent in this sector if we let it happen. Any ideas?"

He had plenty of his own, of course. But it was better to ask and gauge how far Noel was willing to go.

He smiles down at the tiny Helioptile and gives it a gentle pet before returning to the task at hand. There were quite a few options for the pair to sneak their way in, but they all seemed like a pain for Noel. He would much rather just go in directly and pry the information out through battle, yet this would anger the League higher ups more than likely and so here he was.[break][break]

"Hmmm... Hey, how about that over there?" He points to a building that seemed to be less guarded than the rest with only a lone guard protecting its back entrance. "I bet we could take that guy out easily and see what they've got inside."[break][break]

Without even waiting for confirmation from his partner, he puts his scramble of a plan into motion. Jumping down from the cliff and sliding down onto the sloped ground, he finds his way close to the previously mentioned building. The only thing between him and it was the guard. He takes a moment to prepare himself for an attack to take them out and easily forgets about his partner Remiel who he was supposed to be working with.

Remiel turns to acknowledge the 'back door' Noel had identified, then nods with approval after a brief visual inspection. "That could work... but I wonder why they've left it so scarcely guarded. Let's wait and—" Before he finishes his sentence, however, he realizes the lad has already set off to initiate the plan.

"Noel!" The black-haired royal hastily whispers as he stuffs his binoculars away. But, by then, it's too late. All he can do is carefully follow and hope to catch up to him before either of them are spotted. And his Helioptile, of course, sticks close to its master in the meantime.

Just ahead, the Team Rocket guard at the door takes a slow drag of his cigarette. "Sick and tired of this stupid island..." He bitterly remarks to himself, scratching at a BUG BITE on his arm afterward. He fails to notice the League trainer creeping upon him... at least until he turns to flick his cigarette into the gravel.

"H-Hey! Who the he—"

Thankfully, Scout is there to PARALYZE the guard with a THUNDER WAVE just in time. The little lizard wags its tail and hurries to Noel for pets afterward, with Remiel emerging from the bush behind him.

"That was rash, but I suppose we're well past that now." The exiled prince whispers, carefully peeking into a closed window. Inside, a small squad of Team Rocket grunts seem to be enjoying their MRE's (Meals Ready to Eat). "This place is a no-go. It doesn't seem like they have any communication equipment inside anyway. It seems more like a rest area."

As the guard crumples onto the ground from the help of Remiel's little friend, he catches his fall and slowly moves him over to a tall piece of grass in order to hide his body. Caressing the top of the lizard-like Pokemon's head as a way of saying job well done, he scoots on over to the window alongside Remiel, scanning the inside of the room thoroughly to see for himself. It was true, this building would serve them almost no purpose, however maybe they could still get some value out of it. [break][break]

"Maybe it isn't all a lost cause, we could knock most of them out and interrogate the final straggler."[break][break]

Once again, he sets out before confirming with Remiel on whether or not this was a good idea. Opening door ever so slightly as to not make a sound, he slowly but surely makes his way inside, all the guards inside having their backs turned as they were going about eating their meals. With the element of surprise, he summons forth his Milotic, it landing on the ground and immediately starting their attack. Beginning with Scale Shots that would shoot out like bullets towards the Rocket's heads, all but one are knocked out immediately as the lone survivor is left in shock over what occurred. The last remaining member springs into action and goes to alarm the entire base with a button on the wall, Noel and his Pokemon are left unable to respond as he was too far away and his water-type Pokemon recovers from its attack.

Remiel blinks at Noel's suggestion. "Then what? Torture them? That's what it'll take to get anything of value. They're trained against that sort of thing, blindly loyal or at least more afraid of declan walsh than they are of us." He whispers back, pausing to reconsider briefly.

Considering their proximity within the confines of this small building... the royal supposed they could make something work. But they would need to act fast. "Alright," He nods. "I'm with you. But it needs to be quick and silent." As soon as he says so, however, the trainer leaps into action yet again.

Remiel is only given a brief moment to acknowledge the wave of INTERDREAM MIST slowly enveloping the area like molasses before chasing after his partner yet again.

The SCALE SHOTS whizz relatively quietly as they strike their targets. When it comes to the last man, Remiel casts an even quieter LIGHTNING STILETTO that embeds itself in the wall before he TELEPORTS. Astonished by this power, the Rocket grunt hardly has a chance to react before the former ADMIN seizes him into a sleeper hold.

Eventually, Remiel lets go and the man's body collapses into a heap on the floor. "There we are," He sighs, dusting himself clean. "What now, captain?" He teases with a smile. "I don't know if you're aware, but we're surrounded by INTERDREAM MIST at the moment."

With the last Rocket member now incapacitated, the two of them would have to act fast before the Interdream Mist encroached upon them. Dragging the unlucky man's body towards a nearby wall, he would set him against it and give the command for his Milotic to wake him up. With an extremely weak Hydro Cannon, water is shot at the slumped grunt's face, instantly waking him up from his slumber.[break][break]

"All right, we can do this easy or the hard way. Tell us what we need to know and you can get out of this unharmed. Now, what is Rocket planning at this base?"[break][break]

The two trainers towered above the poor soul, with their Pokemon beside them, it would prove a challenge to escape their grasps. The younger-looking grunt seemed flustered, completely disoriented from the rude awakening and sudden loss of power. He'd look up to his captors and stumble upon his words.[break][break]

"I-I don't know anything I swear! I only just got here a few days ago, they don't tell us anything important!"[break][break]

This wasn't the answer Noel was looking for. Grabbing the man by his shirt, he'd pull him up off the ground and lock eyes together, a fierce look gazing into his very being. It was enough to intimidate any weak-willed trainers.[break][break]

"A-All right all right! There's... a building just up ahead you can't miss it! It's where all the head leaders meet up and there's probably something there. Here! I'll even tell you guys the keypad password, it's 7209! You guys aren't going to hurt me are you?"[break][break]

Letting the anxious boy go, he'd drop him down letting him fall back down onto the ground. Noel would turn to his partner Remiel and ask, "What should we do with him? I'll leave it to your call."

Remiel watches as Noel and his Milotic stir one of the Team Rocket agents awake with some water. Despite doubting the efficacy of interrogation in this context, however, this one ultimately talks. Perhaps he had recognized Remiel as a FORMER ADMIN. Perhaps the sharp glare he received made him think the man would resort to his old ways.

Nevertheless, the cowardly operative talks and Remiel is simply happy they didn't have to resort to more unsavory methods. He sighs and starts taking a look around as he responds to Noel's inquiry. "We'll tie them up and send a team later to retrieve them. If we do our job right, Team Rocket reinforcements won't be investigating this place for a while."

After finding some rope and duct tape, the pair of League trainers leave the gang of Team Rocket operatives tied up and advance toward the aforementioned nucleus of the base. Once there, they find that the passcode to the door's keypad works. The doors unlock and Remiel's Helioptile is the first to enter once its trainer pushes them open.

What they hadn't expected, however, was an enemy ROTOM guarding said base. Before Scout can exit the long hallway and enter the communications station at the end of it, he is unceremoniously and viciously HEXED by the phantom lurking in the technology. As a result, the Helioptile FAINTS before Remiel can return it to its ball in a flash of golden light.

"We'll need to get rid of this sentry before accessing their system," He says, summoning an IMPIDIMP next as the computers ahead begin to whir to life. "And we need to do it fast. It's going to alert the others if we don't!"

They had ended up in a sticky situation. If they weren't quick enough soon the whole base would be crawling with Rockets all searching for them. A few surely he alone could handle but an entire army? He shuddered at the thought of having to break out of such a predicament. With no time to spare, Noel's Milotic slithers its way inside and begins to unleash a Blizzard. The area becoming encased in ice as the frozen icicles start to hurl themselves towards the Rotom. Quick and Nimble, the electric Pokemon zigs and zags its way around the projectiles but ultimately ends up defeated after one wrong move. [break][break]

Noel makes his way inside after making sure the coast was clear and ponders over the various computers at work. Being completely technologically illiterate, he simply presses various buttons in hope that he finds the right one. With one final push of a button, all seemed well, the machines quieted down until they all came to a halt. He turns to his partner Remiel and lets off a nervous smile.[break][break]

"Well... I think we've avoided the entire base coming after us. Let's go on ahead, the station is just up ahe-"[break][break]

Before he could finish his sentence, alarms suddenly begin blaring uncontrollably all throughout the building. Flashes of red lights dawn upon them as Noel's smile turns into a frown.[break][break]

"Oh no..."

The interior of the communications base is covered in a thin sheet of ice and snow as a result of the BLIZZARD. Thankfully, the Rotom is successfully dispatched as a result. Remiel's Impidimp leaps inside and begins rummaging through the various cabinets it manages to break free from being frozen. Remiel, in the meantime, investigates the console alongside his partner.[break][break]

When the alarms start blaring, however, the exiled royal curses under his breath. Grabbing a log off the desk nearby, he sharply whistles to catch his Impidimp's attention before tossing it over. The little gremlin immediately drops a colorful stack of Post-it notes it was holding to grab the item it was tossed instead. "Don't lose that." He orders with a pointed finger.[break][break]

Afterward, Remiel turns to his partner. "I can teleport out of here and distract them. Grab or download anything useful you might find on a USB. Then maybe find the generator and turn off that alarm. I'll buy you time and give you a chance to slip away afterward." He nods, disappearing in the blink of an eye afterward.[break][break]

The Impidimp, still holding the book, is left behind to stare up at Noel and wait for their next move.[break][break]

Before he could question exactly what he was looking for, the young man vanishes completely from sight. Panicking at the computer in order to download as many files as he could, he soon gives up as he hears the sound of footsteps approaching. Forcefully ripping out multiple flash drives out, unsure of if any were actually the ones he needed, he begins his way back outside, picking up the tiny Impidimp in his arms. As soon as he steps out the exit, he's met with multiple grunts all eager to end him. [break][break]

Releasing his Hisuian Goodra out onto the field before him, the three of them charge ahead while the lumbering dragon Protects them all from any attacks. Soon, they find the exit, only to be ambushed by multiple members of Rocket all seemingly here ready to spring a trap. Noel and his Pokemon stopped right in their tracks as there was no way out. He looks around for an answer but the situation was looking dire for the young trainer.[break][break]

"Now would be a good time to show yourself again Remiel... We could really use your help right about now..."[break][break]

Remiel had underestimated exactly how many squads they would send. And, although his LIGHTNING STILETTOS allowed him to traverse large swathes of the encampment in the blink of an eye, he was only one man. Nevertheless, the avatar managed to stealthily take down a set of four grunts before any of them had a chance to throw a Pokeball.[break][break]

The electrified staff in his hands shifts into a short baton as he prepares to rendezvous with Noel. Just as he starts moving again, however, a SNIPE SHOT whizzes right past his head. The narrow miss is all he needs to quickly cast another stiletto and TELEPORT. But the fact that a hidden INTELEON is on his heels does not leave his mind.[break][break]

As if summoned by Noel's words, Remiel suddenly appears amidst the grunts attacking them, diving in with a flurry of kicks and strikes with his electrified batons. A LUCARIO, in the meantime, dispatches their small team of Pokémon with EXTREME SPEED, pummeling down a Growlithe before blasting a nearby Zubat down with a WATER PULSE.[break][break]

"MAKE A BREAK FOR IT! BUT WATCH OUT, THERE'S A—"[break][break]

And, just then, another SNIPE SHOT rings out.

Remiel's Impidimp collapses from Noel's shoulder and falls to the ground DEAD. A small blood splatter decorates the lad's cheek as a result.[break][break]

He stands there for a moment as if frozen in time. The shot was too quick for him to do anything, too fast for him to react. He doesn't turn his head but instead reaches a hand out to his shoulder, expecting to find the Impidimp. Yet instead, nothing is there, and as he retracts his hand back, it slides against his cheek and he gazes at his bloodied hand for a few moments. Only now does he slowly spin his head around to look at what remained of the tiny red creature. [break][break]

If it weren't for Remiel's shout, he might have just stood there forever. But Noel is broken out of his trance as he sees the avatar fighting for both their sakes. Clutching the logbook in his arms and returning his Hisuian Goodra back into its ball, he breaks through the enemy formation from the opening his companion had made and runs as fast as he possibly can. The sounds of fighting and shouting were behind him as his only focus now was to get far away from the base. After quite some time of sprinting through the forest, he winds up on the shore of some beach and finally stops his escape. He couldn't hear anything save for the rushing water crashing against the sand on occasion. Noel could only hope that Remiel could find a way out as well or else he feared the worst for the trainer.

A POOCHYENA that Nike missed chomps down on Remiel's leg as he strikes down another grunt. The fight that continues is brutal, especially as Remiel is evading continuous SNIPE SHOT's. Eventually, however, he and his Lucario manage to make a quick getaway. Their greatest priority soon becomes tracking Noel through the jungle.[break][break]

"The data we acquired is more or less useless now... but this logbook might shed some light on their tactics and communication codes." Remiel says, slowly leafing through its pages as he sits on the beach beside his partner. They're waiting for League reinforcements now. They'll ensure they get back to HQ safely with the logbook.[break][break]

Remiel spots them now, approaching from the horizon in a ship. He was looking forward to having the medical team patch up his injuries, especially the bleeding bite on his leg. "How are you holding up?" He asks, shutting the book closed before turning to Noel. "I'm sorry you had to go through that... war is never pleasant."[break][break]
