In order to better help the League, Noel set out to find some way to make himself more useful. Taking the time to think of a plan to somehow take to the skies and get a better view of his surroundings, he comes up with something that is both equally brave and stupid. Sending out his Drifloon, he commands it to try and lift himself up as best he could. After a worrying look, the balloon Pokemon grabs hold of Noel's arms and begins to float up slowly but surely.[break][break]

Some time passed and the pair were now miles above the ground. Underneath them they could see just about everything the island had to offer, although from this distance it was hard to make out the details of the land. Ill equipped for this spontaneous idea, he decides to start heading back down. Hopefully his Drifloon could carry him back down safe and sound as he was practically open season if anything or anyone came his way.

After his little skirmish with Genevieve Cromwell had concluded, Dorian sought out another victim.

Flaming Lizzy, despite whatever injuries she endured at the hands of that annoying Ranger, was still going strong. The demented Charizard wanted blood. She had a driving desire to kill.

And the man on his Drifloon looked like a good target.

Without even waiting for her master's instruction, the Charizard immediately attempted to slice into the spectral balloon with a vicious Air Slash.

Noel and his Drifloon see the oncoming attack and the balloon Pokemon lowers itself just in time for them to dodge the attack. The air felt like it was being cut just above them. The two thought this would be just an easy reconnaissance but now it had turned into something much deadlier.[break][break]

"Hey! What do you think you're doing? Who are you? If you don't respond I'll have no choice but to attack back."[break][break]

Pressing on a Pokeball on his belt, he releases his Hatenna out into the air, it being levitated by its pure psychic power. It kept a Calm Mind as it focuses its energy into a more devastating move should it be required.

The Drifloon managed to dodge the attack, much to the disappointment of the dragon. As annoying as it was, the Mad Dog retained his cheerful demeanor.

"Duly noted!", Dorian jeered at the man.

The Charizard, noting the presence of the Hatenna, opted to fire a Flamethrower at the floating Ranger, and his Drifloon. "You're gonna regret stepping to us!", Dorian taunted the blue-haired man.

Noel and his Drifloon were practically sitting ducks, the two would have to rely on his Hatenna to protect them. The small psychic Pokemon would hover in front of the pair and focus its power into its next attack. The enemy's blast of fire was soon to arrive and all three were now in its way.[break][break]

"All right Hatenna, go! Show them what you're made of."[break][break]

With a loud cry, the pink and blue creature would open its mouth and unleash a Psybeam that would clash against the opponent's Flamethrower. A mix of colors from the two attacks would intertwine as the Hatenna's beam seemed to gain the upper hand, pushing through with every amount of energy it had. Then, a miracle happens and the fire attack becomes completely snuffed out, a ray of psychic energy heading straight for the Charizard's body.

The Mad Dog grinned as the Psybeam collided with the mighty Charizard's Flamethrower. Dorian gave a tap on the Charizard's back. It seemed that the Psybeam managed to overpower the Flamethrower, the attack threatening to collide with the dragon.

Unfortunately for the Hatenna, the Charizard would strafe to the left, dodging the ray of psychic energy. In retaliation, the Charizard would loose another Air Slash, this time aimed at the Hatenna.

"Did you really think that would work!?", Dorian jeered at the Ranger.

As the Air Slash collided with Noel's Hatenna, it being too fast for the little Pokemon to dodge in time, it's sent flying backwards through the air as it lets out a painful cry. Its body dangling in the air as it somehow manages to stay afloat perhaps by sheer willpower. He looks to his beaten companion and returns it back to its ball, unsure of what to do next. This foe was too powerful for him in the air, his last hope being his Drifloon.[break][break]

"I don't have many options now... Drifloon do your best and give him all you've got!"[break][break]

With its owner's command taken, it opens its mouth up and begins to form a swirl of ghostly energy around it. Letting loose a swift Shadow Ball to hopefully knock its opponent away and head back to safety.

Dorian watched as the Ranger recalled the Hatenna. Flaming Lizzy growled in disappointment, her kill denied. So all there was left was the Drifloon.

Unfortunately, due to the damage she had taken from Genevieve Cromwell 's Pidgeot before, the single Shadow Ball was enough to take out the Charizard. As the spectral ball of energy smashed her in the jaw, the Charizard blacked out, and began to freefall, with Dorian falling off of her saddle.

Dorian began to freefall, grabbing the Charizard's Pokeball to recall her.

As much as he'd like to continue after the Rocket member, his Hatenna began to show signs of fatigue, or even worse, death. The small pink Pokemon used up all its energy with that last attack and now it had begun to free fall towards the ocean. He had no time to pursue after his opponent, all that mattered in the moment was saving his Pokemon. Swiftly, he and his Drifloon float down above the water's surface and begin their search.[break][break]

"Hatenna... Where are you? Say something if you're out here!"[break][break]

Yet all that was heard were the waves crashing against each other. He'd dive into the water in hopes of finding his little friend but with no luck, they were truly gone. After some time he had no choice but to give up his rescue and accept he may never see his Hatenna ever again. His Drifloon would carry him back up in the air and return the both of them to safety towards the shore with a heavy heart.
