CHIEN PAO was missing. The CURSED ruinous beast had been absent, ever since Isaac Merlo's departure and the subsequent events that had led to Jayden healing in the infirmary. In some ways, it was a good thing. It had allowed the newly-named Avatar to come to his senses, and had allowed him to heal.

[break][break] On another, it was as concerning as it's presence was to begin with.

[break][break] Riding atop his Roaring Moon, the Admin watched the Dewford skies. Ice crackled around him, making the air grow colder. Not cold enough to mimic the freezing chill of the Cave of Origin, but cold enough to cause the air around him to condense into mist.

[break][break] A BOOMBLAST crashes through the waves, overturning a Rocket ship. Violet eyes snap towards the source. LEAGUE.

the sharp whistle is unmistakably common within rocket ranks and it's what takes him back to kanto, recalling fight after fight against nameless faces that all ended the same way.[break][break]

[break][break] His teeth ground together in frustration as the Admin realized that the attack was not swift enough. It's attempt to drag the League agent down to the sea's dwindling depths had fallen short. Anger swirls in with the infinity energy that pulsed through him.

[break][break] The HURRICANE blasts against the Shedinja ruthlessly, throwing him back. Another sharp whistle commands the bug pokemon to attack once more. This time, air swells around the pokemon's wings before it blips out of view, only to reappear closer. A METAL CLAW is aimed at the human's spine.

he tugs hard enough to careen them in the air, allowing him to avoid being permanently paralyzed by METAL CLAWS that instead find his upper back. the pained noise he makes is drowned out by the howling winds.[break][break]

him remaining on noivern would only hinder its fight against the pesky shedinja, so he does what any sane trainer would do and steps off, falling toward the water only for a pokeball to crack open.[break][break]

"find land," he orders his tropius as they fly a little above the water. he looks up, watching the skies for more attacks.[break][break]

instead of focusing on the shedinja, his noivern sends a DRAGON PULSE at the roaring moon.[break][break]

[break][break] Like a comet careening towards land, MATIAS SILPH descends.

[break][break] It is then that Jayden realizes exactly who he is fighting against. Not a random League civilian. Not an unnamed member of the League's Elite.

[break][break] The effect is immediate. HATRED abruptly bursts inside his chest with the heat of an inferno and whirls around him. Frost claims his armor as a blizzard consumes him, chasing after that falling meteor, without any regard for the area around him.

[break][break] Pain pierces the Roaring Moon as the DRAGON PULSE careens into it's side, but Jayden's reigns tighten around the pokemon's scales, unwilling and unforgiving. A FLAMETHROWER blasts through the blizzard in an attempt to consume the League's rabid dog.

over his shoulder, he sees the growing SNOWSTORM that contrasts against the red and yellow of the FLAMETHROWER that blasts through it.[break][break]

instincts tell him to manipulate the earth to shield them but there is nothing below them but water. he clicks his tongue, dismissive as he's forced to rely on his pokemon.[break][break]

thankfully, his noivern swoops down to take the FLAMETHROWER. flames scorch noivern's dark fur, burning it, but it knows its role.[break][break]

the TAILWIND enables matias but it may very well doom his noivern.[break][break]

tropius' LEER sets up for when they inevitably find land.[break][break]

Rather than consume his desire, the flames find purchase against the midnight feathers of the Noivern's wings. The admin grits his teeth is disdain, before then clicking his teeth in command.

[break][break] A BREAKING SWIPE aims to knock the Noivern off-kilter, to make room for the path as the Volatile finds land.

[break][break] His Shedinja materializes beside him too, just as the shadow lashes out in several whip-like projections. It aims once again, a more directed SHADOW SNEAK to pull MATIAS SILPH from his trusted ride.

a well-aimed beam of red finds the noivern before it makes contact with the water, saving it from drowning in the murky seas.[break][break]

now close enough to land, he doesn't care if his tropius is suddenly pulled back by the whip-like projections. he tilts the pokemon down, making it so that it takes them instead of him.[break][break]

the sudden change in direction lurches him forward, sending him soaring through the air before crashing into the sand. and though the impact knocks the wind out of him, he is now placed in his comfort zone.[break][break]

It makes only sense that he would sacrifice his pokemon for himself; those ghostly projections swarm around the Tropius, attempting to suffocate it. If it succeeds in pulling the GRASS-TYPE closer, the Shedinja will follow-up up with a scathing METAL CLAW.

the tropius dies so that he may live because that is what is expected from all of his pokemon. they are tools, after all, that help him achieve what he wants.[break][break]

he feels nothing at the loss of his tropius. he doesn't even turn to look at its lifeless body crashes into the water. his focus remains on the approaching rocket.[break][break]

the earth shifts beneath him to form a dome that protects him against the torrent of FLAMETHROWER.[break][break]

at the same time, a pokeball cracks open, and from it comes his charizard, MEGA-EVOLVED and firing a DRAGON PULSE at the roaring moon.[break][break]

A jaw tightens and eyes glint dangerously like flint when the earth barrier resurrects around league's favorite murderer.

[break][break] Flames break even through the air, fire catching upon those thorny wings, as Jayden directs his pokemon into a vicious descent. Claws sink into the earth as an EARTHQUAKE detonates beneath.

[break][break] The DRAGON PULSE explodes through rock, aimed for the Roaring Moon, and the admin that sits atop it. Svet materializes in a heartbeat, but his WONDER GUARD is not quick enough. In an last ditch effort to attempt it's master, the Shedinja melts away into ash at the super-effective attack.

[break][break] A pokeball cracks open and his mega-earring pulses with the appearance of his MEGA BANETTE. The SUCKER PUNCH aims a large, shadowy fist directly into the avatar's jaw.

the EARTH may QUAKE but it does little to sway him. he manipulates the earth, counteracting against the attack. the dome above him collapses from the attacks but he's already moving away.[break][break]

the SUCKER PUNCH never connects, at least not against the real matias, only a SUBSTITUTE that crumbles like earth. he appears behind his charizard, safe and sound before finally returning an EARTH SPIKE that shoots up at jayden cross.[break][break]

empowered by the DROUGHT above, charizard lets loose an INFERNO that looks to incinerate everything in its path.[break][break]

The earth spike seeks to impale. However, Jayden is swift. Encased in ice, the avatar leaps off the back of his dragon who's BREAKING SWIPE aims to slice the ressurrected pillar.

caught in the fierce winter storm, he shivers as his entire being calls for him to run rampant, to go BERSERK against anything and anyone. the feeling is oddly similar to what he had felt when under the influence of Elisabeth Fiorelli's mist, though this connection is not realized just yet.[break][break]
