The earth spike seeks to impale. However, Jayden is swift. Encased in ice, the avatar leaps off the back of his dragon who's BREAKING SWIPE aims to slice the ressurrected pillar.

[break][break] "MATIAS SILPH! COWARD! DON'T RUN."

[break][break] he swings viciously, aiming to cleave that man's head from where it stands. if only he could take it and hand it on a silver platter to declan walsh, then it would all be worth it.

[break][break] instead his weapon cuts clean on empty air as MATIAS SILPH dodges, instead resurrecting a spike from beneath the earth.

[break][break] when it EXPLODES, jayden is knocked back. agony swells in his limbs, ice gathered around them in an attempt to protect his body, as he crashes into the sand. the ground beneath him turns into sheets of glacier.

[break][break] "vodnik!"

[break][break] a terrifying roar echoes as the dragon descends after the cursed, wide wings casting shadow upon the beach. a HYDRO PUMP blasts against the elite four, aiming to drown him at his master's behest.

the EXPLOSION creates enough space for him to maneuver back and away, careful not to overextend his reach against an opponent he does not know and cannot predict. his hands wave to manipulate the earth only to find it more difficult due to the sheets of glacier.[break][break]

the HYDRO PUMP never finds its mark as charizard tackles the roaring moon before it can even let loose the attack. the fire-type's scales ripple with energy as another DRAGON PULSE slams into the roaring moon.[break][break]

an angry roar strikes the air as vodnik's attack is intercepted, teeth clashing wildly, as an IRON HEAD aims at the warring mega charizard's chest. strengthened by the volatile's natural head, thanks to it's PROTOSYNTHESIS.

[break][break] the ice gathers and propels him upwards in a pillar, spiking him like a missile towards MATIAS SILPH.

[break][break] once again, the sword swings.

[break][break] "GOD?" he echoes, sharpened teeth gnashing. "THIS IS NO GOD. THIS IS YOUR HOLY RETRIBUTION, MATIAS SILPH!"

[break][break] and when he swings, an explosion of ice catalyzes in front of him like a storm.

IRON HEAD knocks charizard away but it is not out.[break][break]

they move too quickly for him to plan contingencies. he is forced to be reactive instead of proactive which puts him in an unfortunate spot.[break][break]

the sword swings once more, this time managing to find purchase across his shoulder, drawing blood as it leaves a nasty gash. he hisses in pain, then brings his arms up across his face to brace himself against the ice storm.[break][break]

EARTH erupts in front of him, shielding him as he springs back, creating immense distance before he calls out to his charizard.[break][break]

"ASH!"[break][break]

the call of matias stirs a rising INFERNO that immediately grows in intensity. it washes across the battlefield before wrapping around jayden cross, looking to burn, trap, and suffocate.[break][break]

Z-MOVE: HURRIFERNO[break]
charizard traps the target in a vortex of flames that BURNS and BINDS the target. this prevents them from escaping.

[break][break] blood spurts in the air between them, frosting as it crashes upon the resulting snow. but jayden's eyes are blown white and blistered blue, HATRED churning in those vibrant flames.

[break][break] "DIE FOR YOUR SINS, MATIAS SILPH, AND THE DISEASE YOU SPREAD IN THE REGION!"

[break][break] but the flame is just as caustic. the INFERNO that suddenly spreads aims to scourge everything in it's wake, including the cursed in his horrendous rage. his roaring moon leaps down with a FLAMETHROWER of his own, joined by a GUNK SHOT from his reappearing mega banette.

[break][break] heat gathers behind his mask, half of it cracking with the heat that the two opposing twisters create.

[break][break] pieces of it fall onto the sand, revealing half his face.

smoke hisses around them like salted ice moments after the explosion sounds, shimmering fog intertwining with pink INTERDREAM MIST.

[break][break] HATRED blisters brightly in his gaze, reminded of that day in the cave of origin. that same day that his life's path forged with that of ruination.

[break][break] that shadowed version of MATIAS SILPH who had mocked him then.

[break][break] different than the burned carcass of a man who glared back at him now.

[break][break] "jayden cross," he growls. "LET IT BE YOUR LAST THOUGHT WHEN I KILL YOU, MATIAS SILPH."

[break][break] he raised his arm then, the same one that held declan walsh's burnt brand. shadows swirl with the ice before he splays his palm out, blasting sheets of vengeful ice towards the other.

[break][break] an EARTHQUAKE from his roaring moon splits the earth in finality, a fissure that speeds towards MATIAS SILPH in an attempt to crush him still.

jayden cross—a name unfamiliar but one that will be put in the spotlight if only because of their patronage and not because of the threat they bring. or at least that's how matias sees it, because the ice that blasts his way melts from charizard's FLAMETHROWER; the counter is there, easy and predictable, but what is different is the driving force.[break][break]

there is so much HATRED that it is almost tangible. he can feel it in the air, in their voice, and in the way they glare at him. in time, he will piece things together—like how BERSERK he had felt when in close proximity which is eerily similar to Elisabeth Fiorelli—but for now, he decides on another course of action.[break][break]

the earth beneath him is manipulated long enough to buy him time to hop on his charizard. together, they ascend into the skies, making their departure.[break][break]
