the stone tower was unfamiliar. she watched from afar as the reshiram and zekrom, and presumably their chosen stood off against one another,[break][break]

nomi echoed her thoughts, and she considered the question offered. it only made sense that at some point, one fateful event had occurred, from which all other anomalies had been born that would seal their doom.[break][break]

it also made sense that the dark triad were after legendary pokemon.[break][break]

”for what purpose are they interested in controlling them, if not only to destroy us, i wonder? what else are they doing in the multiverse?”[break][break]

her voice lowered a tone, indicating a shift of focus to the tower and robed men, to lightning and flame.[break][break]

”as scientists, i suppose we should side with truth–but reality is not as concrete as we once thought…” meaning they lived in a world where ideals could become truths, granted one had the means to make them so.[break][break]

though, she could think of one more option that she kept to herself: perhaps they could one day escape said inevitable doom, in some far off, wonderful place so removed from their current lives that they would eventually forget the horrors of old society.[break][break]

Nomi walked up to Lulu, then glanced down at the dark stone. It was nearly opaque, save for a crackling of energy within - some distant thunder, barely contained, eager to break free.[break][break]
"Resting, perhaps. Or maybe it's some kind of...egg? A rebirth of sorts?"[break][break]
So many unanswered questions about the nature of legendary Pokemon. How much more of their world would need to be threatened - if not sacrificed - for their understanding to deepen?[break][break]
A sudden wave of exhaustion caused Nomi to sigh softly, and she instinctively rested a hand on Lulu's forearm.[break][break]
"Thank you for accompanying me. I hope you found the journey enlightening."[break][break]
Nomi knew that Lulu would certainly want to traverse the many scenarios of the RKS Machine over and over, just as she had, and Nomi would help her do so - if she requested it.[break][break]
Around the two women, the landscape began to shudder and morph - returning to the initial loading screen. The dark stone dissipated into nothingness, just another forgotten memory in a sea of pixels.
