"No, Cian, I won't be. To stand here before means that a measure of trust has been placed in you. I'm here to test if that the trust has been misplaced."

On the interwoven stone and branch walls, Combee and Vespiquen alike buzz curiously as they look on below.

To pretend that the man hadn't used that information, and his circumstances, to secure a spot — one of the first — in the League. Well, he couldn't bullshit Greyson.

A roar of challenge pulses out from the dragon-type, its body splitting as he matches the tempo with his own

. As one, they attack their counterparts with tooth and nail.

[attr="class","cianmain"]it was simply a matter of being at the right place and the right time. in a way, greyson isn't wrong: cian did use his situation in his favor to leverage a deal with the commissioner herself. he knew he would be met with judgment, but what of the alternative?

he wonders, briefly, if he would have done the same if he had to spend time in prison. the thought lingers as he watches the battle commence.

after using its shadow clone jutsu, all images of the froakie move in sync, mirroring each other as they all shoot out HYDRO PUMPS up into the air, targeting all the copies of the noivern.

Then he orders a response.

"Boombust!"

Each of the copies, much like the Froakie, release their own ear deafening blast. The water meets an impenetrable wall of sound, unable to advance, while the noise dies well before it could reach the water-type. An effective stalemate.

He aims to break it immediately.

A roar echoes, not quite as deafening as her earlier attack, as a

hurricane

is summoned center-mass of her opponents forces.

HURRICANE whips through the froakie copies with enough force that threatens to lift them all up into the air if they aren't careful. but they stay planted on the ground, sticky feet active only to send out their sticky tongues up into the air.[break][break]

taking advantage of the situation, froakie's LICK tightens, this time intending to lift the noivern up into the air before slamming it back down into the ground.[break][break]

speed.

cian, not able to hear the SUPERSONIC noise, is left unaware of the trouble that flies froakie's way. but the water-type is intuitive; it is the pokemon that fought its way to the very top to become VCT CHAMPION. a noivern isn't going to defeat it.[break][break]

froakie is quick to form hand seals, splitting apart with DOUBLE CLONE in an attempt to make up for its now CONFUSED state. all clones sway back and forth, struggling to remain standing.[break][break]

but, together, they fire HYDRO PUMPS at noivern, looking to drown the flying-type.
