In his apartment in Slateport City, Zev lowered Nenet onto his bed. Teleportation had brought them there from the new island on Route 105, and his Gengar had unlocked the door to let them in.[break][break]

The Ghost-type hovered anxiously nearby, recognizing that a terrible thing had happened to his master's woman and eager to help however he could.[break][break]

At the moment, however, Zev only had eyes for Nenet. He'd carried her straight to the bedroom upon arrival. Team Rocket's medics had set her broken arm and bandaged her other wounds, but their skill and knowledge had done nothing to offset the anger that still churned within his chest.[break][break]

Someone from the crime syndicate had harmed Nenet, and unless he could figure out who, they would likely get away with it. The mere thought set him on edge again. It took all of his willpower not to turn away and destroy something.[break][break]

But first, he had to take care of Nenet. She was his most prized possession, and as with everything else he owned, he was responsible for keeping her in the best condition.[break][break]

And so, with a rare and uncharacteristic tenderness, Zev brushed her hair out of her face. "Do you want a bath?" he asked her. "Get all this blood and dirt off you?"
