The night market teems with life, the after hours crowd braving the sharp, autumnal cold for their wares and wishes. Yes, she knows it's important that they keep an eye on things. Yes, she knows that monitoring the backdoor deals some of their smuggling vendors make is essential to the success of Rocket business. But no one ever said patrol rounds were fun.[break][break]

At least she doesn't mind the company. Troy MacQueen is an enjoyable enough partner to work with. And that's saying something, considering the fact that Sidney doesn't usually like to work with anybody, really.[break][break]

"Red or blue?"[break][break]

A disembodied voice floats past her ear in a whisper. As if someone is murmuring just over her shoulder. If she thinks about it, she can practically feel the puff of breath that fans across the skin there.[break][break]

"The heck? Tro-" For a moment, she thinks it's Troy messing with her, but when she goes to swat him away, she finds that he's still in step beside her - a few feet away and not leaning close.[break][break]

"What? Did you-?" Sidney swivels on her heels, a swift turn that makes the short bob of her multi-colored hair smack her cheeks. Bright red from the cold. But there is no one behind her either.

In the buzz of the night market, there is no one in their immediate proximity. The stall they stopped at surprisingly barren of gathering customers. "Who said that?" She looks at Troy, frowning as her brows pinch. "You heard that right?"[break][break]

She's, like, way too young to be losing it.

Troy could think of worse ways to spend the night. sidney tsuda is vocal about her complaints. It was boring, sure, but at least it was in the company of someone they kinda knew? It's weird. She knows her, but they don't. Well, they do but...[break][break]

Story for another time, they suppose. Margaret did like Sidney though. Stands to reason, so does Troy.[break][break]

Eyeing the crowd, everything is fine, aside from the disembodied red or blue until Sidney remarks to Troy, now walking moments behind her, intent to swat him away... when Troy has done literally nothing. A little protective, hands in his pockets, he takes a breath.[break][break]

With a sharp inhale, he turns blue eyes around them, wanting to find the perpetrator himself, but finding no one. "Good question. Who indeed?" But there's nothing that was close enough to scare Sidney, or inform him of the source. Just... the wind. The night air. The markets.[break][break]

"Might as well play along. Red or blue?" Running a hand through his hair... just like her.

[attr="class","text"] She isn’t sure what it is about Troy, and she would never manage to put the truth about Margaret together (it’s all a bit too big for her brain, of course,) but there’s always been something sort of familiar about him.[break][break]
That weird sort of deja vu feeling like they’d known each other far longer than they have on paper.[break][break]
It strikes her at odd moments, but she’s never thought much about it. Chalks it up no more than the fact that she finds it easy to get along with him.[break][break]
Her fingers lace together as they lift to rest against the back of her head. She puffs out a breath, cheeks inflating then deflating as she looks around to no avail. “You think it’s just some rando taking the piss?” Her nose wrinkles in annoyance. “Whoever it is has way too much time on their hands.”[break][break]
But on a slow night like this one, it would seem so do they.[break][break]
Sidney relents, shoulders sagging as her hands fall back down to her hips. “Yeah, why not? I’ll bite.” The bounty hunter clicks her tongue as she thinks it over. “Hmm…how ‘bout blue?”[break][break]

Someone taking a piss? Troy thinks of how little class that would show, but down in the night market, it was easy to see where she put that together. Sidney's comments are completely founded; because Troy had thought them himself minutes ago.[break][break]

"No kidding." Their eyes trail listlessly down the way, down where the voice spoke to them. Whatever voice that may be...[break][break]

Sidney responds with blue. "I'll cover you, Sid." Troy takes the moment to almost defensively move near her. A hand reaching behind his back, a hand on the grip. He didn't want to reveal himself so easily and handily in public, but if that's what happens... c'est la vie.[break][break]

Waiting for the answer to take form, Troy's cutting eyes look on, at the ready. Ready to fire.[break][break]

The ring that appears out of thin air is foreign to her—if it’s meant to be familiar, it’s lost on her. Her brows pinch together, and she casts a glance back over her shoulder at Troy. “The hell is that?”[break][break]
Her eyes dart back to the ring, just in time for the komala to start tumbling out.[break][break]
All she can do for a moment is stare before the ring blinks away to leave them with the mess.[break][break]
The drowsy, fluffy creatures roll about, spreading across the street. But danger is far from Sidney’s mind.[break][break]

That's... odd. A ring, out of nowhere, appearing from thin air, and Troy immediately pulls out a knife, a sleight of hand ever so small but one showing intent. The fangs of the ferocious killer come out, his blue eyes staring dead at the ring, when-[break][break]

A Komala. No. Not one. Multiple. Many. A dozen. They roll about, unable to control themselves, as they lethargically roll around with such confusion.[break][break]

Irritation. Aggravation. Stupid koalas. But it's when Sidney picks one up, that Troy snaps his gaze over to her... and he just buckles. With a breath, and eyes now away from them, he takes one long inhale.[break][break]

They... were pretty cute.[break][break]

"Yes, well," Two of them were rolling onto his shoes, attempting to climb up. With a big twitch of his eye, he begrudgingly picks one up by the scruff of their neck. "-perhaps our worries are for nothing."[break][break]

He says. As one happens to YAWN right at him. Troy's eyes drooping lazily.
