After putting on the white turtleneck and the dark blue jeans that his aunt wanted him to wear, he slipped on some black sneakers and made his way to the restaurant with Tempest by his side. As he walked, he rested one hand on the back of the Manectric, allowing it to guide him towards the restaurant.

Although the restaurant was closed for the day, he still had to go in. Due to being understaffed, he and a few of his employees had to take on additional tasks to make up for it. This only happened when his family couldn't help out at the restaurant. However, all of them had their own jobs, and he didn't like burdening them with more work. That's why he had decided to finally make time to interview potential employees for his restaurant.

This would be his first time conducting interviews by himself. Usually, his aunt would assist him, but something had come up at the last minute. Not wanting to cancel, he reassured his aunt that he could handle the interviews on his own. After all, he couldn't keep putting this off forever. He couldn't expect to continue waiting tables and cooking indefinitely.

Upon reaching the restaurant, he instructed Tempest to wait at the entrance and guide any potential employees to him. Once that was settled, he entered the restaurant and made his way to his office. Leaving the door partially open, he sat behind his desk and waited for the potential new employee to arrive.

Since he wanted some time to mentally prepare himself, he had arrived a bit earlier than the scheduled time. As he waited, he mentally reviewed the questions he could ask. These were the questions his aunt had helped him come up with when she had arranged the interviews.[break] Damian Belle

his return home had gone well so far. with getting ready to live on his own and what not, he would need to acquire a second job just to get by. upon the back of his charizard dressed in casual clothing. the newly graduate pondered on where to go with his life. damian came from a loving home where pokemon were a major part of his life. he had no interest in becoming a trainer like his mother was, and he had little interest in owning the his father's dojo someday.

he wanted to be his own person.

flying upon the back of charizard. the pair would find themselves landing in front of a restaurant, "thanks, rickenbracker." he would recall the charizard. entering the establishment damian would look around. upon entry he would come to be escorted to where the "owner" would be. though, upon first meet, the tall civilian would come to meet by someone that looked to have been younger than he expected. the first thing that came to damian's mind, upon staring at the interviewer, he would say aloud, "small..."

pretending as though he hadn't commented upon the interviewer's build. damian, with a neutral expression, would say, "i'm here to interview."

While he waited, he decided to review a list of items in the inventory. Since he had nothing else to occupy his time, he wanted to assess what items they had in abundance and what they needed to restock. Fortunately, there was a braille version of the list available, so he didn't have to rely on his memory to recall what they were running low on.

As he was engrossed in his task, he was interrupted by approaching footsteps outside his office. He quickly set the paper aside just as his office door swung open. The comment from the older man caught him off guard, and he wasn't sure whether he should take offense or not. In reality, he considered himself to be of average height and weight, so he couldn't quite grasp the intention behind the remark.

Deciding to let it slide, he chose to proceed with the conversation. "Thank you for your interest. My name is Shinobu Fujimori, the owner and head chef of this establishment. However, if my name is difficult for you to pronounce, you can simply call me Shin," he said to the older man, offering a small smile that didn't quite reach his eyes. His gaze remained devoid of emotion.

"Anyway, is there a specific position you're interested in?" he asked, eager to move forward with the interview. He hoped the applicant had a particular role in mind, as it would streamline the process. If not, that would be fine too, but having a clear direction would certainly make things easier.[break] Damian Belle

"shin..." the name was cute. it made damian smile from how adorable he found it. "i like it...cute..." damian would take his seat. suddenyl, he'd cover his mouth realizing he, once more, spoke without thought. his father was right, he needed to break that bad habit of his.

his mind went blank for a brief moment. trying to remember what position did he want exactly. thinking back to it he would recall finding a unique to burn water. a finger would come to be placed near his bottom lip as he fell deeper into thought. had shinobu fujimori taken a closer look, he would be able to see that there were a few cuts and bruises upon his hand. all from his attempt at cooking from the night before.

"i can cook."

suddenly a riolu would manifest from its ball. ferociously shaking its head toward shinobu as it stood atop of the desk. "oh, riolu!" he would pick up the pokemon and placed him upon his lap, "i make his food all the time. he loves my cooking." once again the pokemon would ferociously disagree, but its adorableness blinded damian. "though, waitstaffing could be interesting." he would prefer to not have any interaction with annoying customers, but he was willing to take what he can.

"Thanks, though I should let you know that I already have a boyfriend," he said, his tone light and teasing. It was clear that he didn't have a problem with the comment. If anything, he seemed amused by it, judging by the fact that he had teased him about it. All joking aside, it was time to get down to business.

First things first, he needed to ask about the position he would be going for. While he waited for a response, he felt Tempest brush up against his leg. He had almost forgotten that he had instructed Tempest to lead potential employees to his office. She must have stayed after leading the potential employee to him.

He absentmindedly started to pet Tempest when the potential employee finally responded. As he mentioned being able to cook, his expression became pensive. While he wanted to take his word for it, he couldn't for obvious reasons. He couldn't just allow anyone who claimed they could cook to work at his restaurant without knowing for himself if it was true or not. It would be bad for business if he hired him as a cook and it turned out he couldn't actually cook.

Lost in thought, he almost missed the appearance of the Riolu. The cry alone confirmed what the Pokémon was before the older man mentioned the species. Though it had helped he knew what a Riolu sounded like considering he had one of his own. "You don't nickname your Pokémon," he blurted out, his face heating up slightly when he realized how that might have sounded.

"That aside, I'm afraid I can't just take your word for it. I would have to check for myself if you can actually cook. I can see how you do in either situation. While I mostly cook, I've had to fill in as a waiter a time or two when we were short-staffed, something I'm not too fond of for obvious reasons."

Being blind, he didn't really care for the waiting aspect of things. Not because it was particularly hard, but because he didn't like being up front. The noise level alone could cause him to go into sensory overload if he wasn't careful.[break] Damian Belle
