Once their hands were locked, Roy released his grip on the book with the other. He had no other choice. A single glance at the area below encouraged the trainer to clutch onto the ranger's wrist with both hands. The pounding in his chest increased in rhythm and muffled any voice calling out to him.

Like a sizzling hearth in this dreary home of doom and gloom, Noel was Roy's savior. A hero. As he was pulled to safety, the trainer regretted every internal opinion he made on his ultra space partner. This would only last for a moment, but in this moment, the trainer was thankful. More than anything, he was happy to be alive. He watched as the last of the zombie horde was burnt to a crisp or tossed to the world below.

As the ranger navigated their new place, the trainer didn't move from his position on the ground. He needed to mentally recover. This was new to him. His time in Unova left no room for allies, so he was used to working alone. This experience changed his opinion, but only slightly.

Following the declaration from his champion, he pulled himself up from his roost and onto his feet. If this was the end, he was ready to face it. Especially if Noel was there to face it with him.

So far the coast was clear along the way downstairs in this unknown building. Everything seemed too quiet considering everything that had happened up until this point. However this reprieve was exactly what Noel needed. As he walked in the halls of the ground floor, he couldn't help but take another look at his surroundings. Everything seemed so similar yet different at the same time. If this was anything like their home world, then where were its residents? As more and more questions filled his head, he found his way to the exit. Taking a peek outside, he makes sure there was no danger in sight before waving over his friend.[break][break]

"Hey, over this way. Looks like there's no more of those weird monsters out there, let's take this chance to go out and see if we can find a way out of here."[break][break]

Stepping out into the vast darkness, the only thing that sparked any sort of light was the fire from his Braixen's wand. It was much too hard to tell any features from the buildings surrounding them and the short-sightedness could make them vulnerable to a surprise attack. Nevertheless they pushed on, in hopes of finding their salvation. Just as when Noel began to lose hope, he could hear the sounds of crackling up ahead. As they inched closer and closer, what he saw was something he couldn't really explain. A massive swirl of energy of what looked like a portal was looming straight ahead. Was this their ticket out?[break][break]

"What do you make of this? Do you think its safe to go through? I don't really see any other options for us right now...

Without any further objections, the trainer followed the path the ranger had established. Like his hero, Roy examined the interior of the structure as they navigated through it. Curiosity had robbed him of his words, so he was mostly silent through their investigation. Despite this, he maintained the same pace behind his champion.

Once they were out of the building and back into the dull landscape, the trainer felt more uneasy than before. The structures gave them safety and sustenance, especially form the monsters. For whatever reason, the open scenery felt scarier to him.

Relief wouldn't settle in until the hero revealed his next discovery; a swirling illumination in the shape of a portal.

"I think this is the way out."

Before the ranger had a chance to stop him, Roy took the plunge. He was quick, but he didn't run. Upon entry, he was immediately teleported his original world. He took a moment to suck in the air and the landscape around him. They were finally home.
