His Charizard huffs in the air as Paxton clings to him, searching form the skies for a sign of that rogue supply line Rocket had taken over. They'd hit the ranger quick, stealing their supplies and sending them packing. [break][break]

Now it's up to Paxton to find it and help recover it. Or at least, destroy everything Rocket had acquired. Scorched earth and all. Literally. [break][break]

His Charizard was itching for a fight, glaring down at the earth in search of the skittering Rockets down bellow.

"Cassidy here, nothing yet."

It isn’t Fern who did the swiping, though they now sail through the air with the intent of watching over the aerial route until more firepower can arrive. It seems like a good way of keeping an eye out for jayden cross— who they still struggle to locate.[break][break]

It doesn’t make any sense. How difficult can it be to find the one person they’d know anywhere on an island?[break][break]

That said, they’ve been having their fair share of fun, too. The opportunity to get a handle on what they can do is not one to be passed up. And Tapu Koko has remained with them still, though its penchant for lifting higher into the air than them remains true. For now they are out of sight, but never out of mind.[break][break]

Settled stop the back of their dragapult, Fern dispatches a staraptor to scout the area in a wide arc around them. The command an effort to suss out any stealth attacks.

As they glide through the skies, careful of keeping HQ informed of their changing positions and also staying within cloud cover, his Charizard spots a stray bird. Paxton has him hold position after hearing a couple of grunts from the fire type, calling it in to make sure it wasn't friendly. When the report comes back negative, he begins to take aim. [break][break]

Shooting on top of a flying type was tricky. A lot of it depended on how tightly he could hold his own rifle to him, but eventually he takes a steadying breath and pulls the trigger. His Charizard freezes, giving Paxton that couple of seconds of stillness he needed before a muffled shot rings out and a round goes flying. And the Staraptor explodes in a barrage of feathers. [break][break]

As soon as the battered body ( what was left of it ) began to fall, Paxton shoulders his rifle and ducks to hold tight to his Charizard. "Get ready, big guy." he said as the Charizard dove suddenly, preparing a vicious FLAMETHROWER attack.

It is good that they had the forethought to send the staraptor out ahead of them. It caws once, and then the impact of a speedy bullet stops it mid-flight as its chirping twists into a shriek of pain. Feathers erupt from its body and Fern doesn’t attempt to reclaim the felled bird as it begins to plummet.[break][break]
Instead, they click their tongue at the dragapult and she vanishes them into a PHANTOM FORCE portal. Temporarily, they hide as they try to sort out where the sniper shot must have come from.[break][break]
They are not keen to flee in terror, though, with tail between their legs like a frightened poochyena.[break][break]
So the admin urges the dragapult to burst from the portal, only to be met with the gout of flame. “Drop,” they hiss at Ceci, who drops in the air rapidly, allowing them to look up and get eyes on the perpetrator as they dive in Fern’s direction.

His Charizard senses movement and blasts a stream of FLAMETHROWER as they swoop closer to the falling dead bird and the pair they just saw appear. "Good." Paxton said, patting his pokemon's back twice. He sends out an Emolga that squeaks with determination before swiftly darting away to help tag team their hidden opponent. "Don't let them escape." [break][break]

Using ACROBATICS it tries to cut the distance to slam itself into the Dragapult's face. Explosions of Heatran in the distance only add to its urgency. The dual type is eager to join but fires off too much, blasting a HEAT WAVE while the Emolga is still in the way. "Hey- Wait!" he shouted, jerking back the fire type and hoping the Emolga got out of there in time.

They do not have the time, nor the patience for this. Fern’s nose wrinkles in distaste as the emolga attempts to cut them off—the acrobatics display mostly pinging off of Cecilia’s larger body. Her maw opens wide, a FIRE BLAST taking care of what the overeager charizard had already started.[break][break]

The lick of heat from the actual threat ripples out toward them and their dragapult peels away from it. Only for her to loop back around so that Fern can look at the man on his dragon from behind their smiling, clever mask. “Haven’t you got better things to do than shoot bird’s from the air?” they call, “Get lost, I’m busy.”[break][break]

And eager to hail their patron from on high to zap them from the air if he doesn’t make like a tree and leave.

"Overdue for a meeting with the mortician?" Paxton shot back as he watched his Emolga scout be burnt to an absolute crisp and fall out of the sky. His Charizard roars, TERASTALIZING into a FIRE TYPE for emphasis before flapping it's wings as it began to summon a fiery spiral, starting a FIRE SPIN around Admin and dragon as he tried to trap them. [break][break]

Lightning rains from above as Paxton and his partner are electrocuted all of a sudden. Paxton managed to lock in, tensing against his partner and holding on tight. However, his Charizard isn't able to maintain flight and begins to freefall as it tries to recover from the surprise attack.

“I think you have our agenda’s mixed up,” Fern calls back, unaware of the fact that this is the guy that gave them that littering violation ages ago. Not that it matters—if anything it would give Fern amplification from the petty grudge. “Tit for tat,” they say in simple observation as they watch the emolga drop out of the sky.[break][break]
If they were meant to be intimidated by the display, they are not. Formidable as it is, what are some crystallized sparkles compared to that of a deity? Fire conflagrates in the air and traps them in place, but Fern only looks upward with a sharp grin. As lashes of lightning acknowledge their call, Tapu Koko soon descends—joining Fern in pursuit as they dive on their dragapult, following the involuntary descent of the man on his Charizard.[break][break]
An ELECTRO BALL is formed by the island spirit, but not fired just yet. “Break rank,” Fern calls out. “Yield.”

The creature that flies out isn't just any ordinary pokemon, but an island deity. Paxton racks his brain through a list of known avatars and known legendaries. Taku Koko was in League custody- sure- this isn't that. He can tell by the odd coloration it's different. That's a problem for him. He can't combat an avatar this close and personal in the air. [break][break]

His Charizard catches itself, wings spreading open and slowing their fall before beginning to climb back up. Paxton meets eyes- or well- as close as you can get between masks and mirrored helmets.[break][break]

"Eat shit Rocket." he replied flipping him off as his Charizard roared in agreement before charging straight at Fern and his patron, only to blast an INFERNO at the trio. Though the move isn't suddenly just to blast Fern and Tapu Koko but just beyond the Rockets a huge cloud of pink dream mist was rolling in following the winds. [break][break]

As flames pour out, so does a ROARING MOON that screeches as it takes shape for the first time, angry and confused, and shoots out SCALE SHOTS. One hits his Charizard square between the eyes and, already tired form the previous attack, it faints, beginning to fall. Which is just as well as Paxton calls loudly, over radio, "Intercepted 1 Rocket, suddenly surrounded by dreammist. Backing up." He had no intention of finishing the fight. Which is all well and good since it sounded like they needed more focus on the inside of the island as swarms of HEATRAN trample through both factions inside the tunnels. His Charizard free falls, and soon so does Paxton as he pulls for another pokeball to get something to TELEPORT him away.
