she has been, he knows as much, and though he does feel a sliver of guilt, maybe more at times, it's not enough for him to do anything about it. it's not up to him, anyway, which is something he has long accepted.[break][break]

the mist seems to part for him as he approaches. blood taints his shirt, pooled around a slit at his side that looks akin to a stab wound; kyle lopez's mark.[break][break]

She doesn’t need to found, especially not by him despite the desire still rooted deep in her soul.

DELTA STREAM trickles from her fingertips, still burnt out and recovering from her encounter with Elisabeth. Similar to Dewford, she bruised and beaten, even her SYGNA SUIT was torn across her torso. Dried, sticky blood pooled at the corners.

“Only temporarily. I’ll find my way.”

She couldn’t seem to clear the mist each time she tried, “You’re hurt,” she says when she finally looks towards him, as clear as day in the midst of the magenta haze.

Her brow quirks, a sliver of a small smile, “Oh yeah?” he has always been stubborn, but she won’t push it. He’s standing, and the wound seemed stable at a quick glance. Her gaze rose back to meet his as he reached out to her own wounds.

Just as gentle as his touch, she brushes his hand away. It may not be bleeding, but it’s still tender, “What else is new?” she smiles softly, as if it is a fond memory. Half the time, their relationship was one of them getting hurt and the other having to rush in or scour the floors of a hospital. It’s a wonder they’re both still alive.

“Just another day in the life. Just another war.”

Does war follow them? Or is it simply inevitable no matter the circumstances? There’s a part of her that mourns over the fact that she will likely never succeed. The more the learns about humanity, the further peace seems to slip away, running through her fingertips like the thick mist strangling them.

He’s said it before, but she doesn't believe him, “That’s sweet, Matias, beautiful, but if it doesn’t deserve me, where would I belong?” she’d be even more lost.

The hair on the back of her neck slowly rises, sending a chill across her back, “Something is coming,” her hand reaches for a pokeball. She steps closer to Matias, an instinct, covering his back.

their conversation is interrupted by the sudden parting of the INTERDREAM MIST. from the thick of it comes a ROARING MOON, one large yet quick as it slams a BREAKING SWIPE down at them.[break][break]

eva's warning sets up the barrier of earth he conjures, held up long enough for them to step away from being crushed.[break][break]

he cracks open two pokeballs only to hear more movement behind them.[break][break]

"there's more coming."[break][break]

the two of them end up trapped in the INTERDREAM MIST for a while, left to fend for themselves as they take on swarms of PARADOX POKEMON that seem endless. his pokemon end up paying the price: a dead slowking along with a few fainted pokemon, but at the end of it, it's his MEGA-EVOLVED charizard that makes the difference.[break][break]
