The message was clear with what was said to unfold upon the resurfaced island and it’s immediate vicinity, a resonance of discordance appealing to the grandmother with a distaste for what the universe had gifted her. She was late to attend, but being late only meant there would be more and more stragglers to tend to. Looming through the skies with a large masked strapped to her wrinkled cheeks, she giggled as the interdream mist flickered below the flying Golurk and herself, spotting prey just below them.[break][break]

Struck by the pulsation of the psywave that had emerged from his pokemon, the ghost type was convinced more than ever to retaliate; it had not needed the commands that came from Marilyn’s squeals to get the young man and throw him from the clouds, either. Detaching one of its spectral iron fists from the rest of its body, the large pokemon attempted to use SHADOW PUNCH against the grotesque living slime of an opponent it had found.[break][break]

She was definitely aware of his prominence in the Elite Four, but her grudges spawned further due to his uncanny resemblance to a security guard at the facility she was held in for all those years. Two birds with one stone, though one of the flock happened to simply be an excuse.

the SHADOW PUNCH collides against reuniclus and would have done far more damage had it not been for the psychic-type's ACID ARMOR. it seems it has taken the defensive approach which is something that causes frustration to rise from matias.[break][break]

How annoying, for the prey had nothing better to say than to do better, and the slime had nothing better to do than use acid to bulk up its defensive prowess. "You're pretty jaded, huh, dear?" She called out to Matias with a giggle, feeling the reverberation against the Golurk's body as the detached fist made it back to its arm slot. Unsure if he was telling her or his own pokemon to do better, Marilyn assumed it was the latter, unwilling to take such offense.[break][break]

But she wanted to do better regardless, to make the slime rain down into the interdream mist below. Maybe even onto the league trainers trying to get inside of that cave in the center surrounded by odd pressure plates in the distance, if the wind could kick up that much. Unsheathing her Honedge and throwing it into the air, it vanished into a violet puff of a SHADOW SNEAK. Like an invisible slither, it would attempt to slice at the Reuniclus from behind with its serrated dagger once it made its way.

reuniclus' body begins to fall apart, literally, as SHADOW SNEAK finds purchase in its back. its jelly-like body sloshes, bits of it falling down toward the cave.[break][break]

to defend itself, it tucks itself into a ball and uses a ROLLOUT on the honedge.[break][break]

meanwhile, altaria and matias close in to slam a TAKE DOWN against the much larger golurk.[break][break]

Sixty? That was such a nice compliment for someone her age, she couldn't help but giggle some more. "How sweet!" She exclaimed, watching the slime slam the blade in a squelching rollout. Launching through the air in relentless pursuit, the Honedge channeled darker energies in an attempt to unleash a NIGHT SLASH on the remnants of the Reuniclus.[break][break]

But her peace in being strapped onto the belly of the Golurk was fleeting, as the take down of the dragon type caused them to tumble, nearly knocking her mask off with the rest of her sanity. Eyes rolling around with blurred vision, it attempted to retaliate with a DYNAMIC PUNCH, its glimmering iron fists ready to give a big knock.

the reuniclus is abandoned. if it dies, it dies. it made the fatal mistake of fighting defensively when it should have known that matias values the opposite. he feels no remorse nor guilt when he catches the briefest glimpse of the NIGHT SLASH tearing it into two.[break][break]

DYNAMIC PUNCH is returned which knocks them away, sending them twisting and turning in the air briefly. the moment they stabilized, they close the distance once again, this time for a FURY ATTACK.[break][break]

Finally, the slime had split into a bunch of goop rain, just how grotesque that creature was. The Elite Four member seemingly felt no remorse for its passing, either; at least they had one thing in common, being no remorse for those ugly things in the world. Giggling as the dagger tried to make its way back to the trainer, the eye upon its hilt widened as she threw it into battle once more.[break][break]

All was necessary to protect herself and Ludwig from facing misfortune, after all. Marilyn threw the Honedge to take the brunt of the fury swipes instead of the Golurk, causing it to fall into an unconscious state. A tap on the pokeball was enough to retain it before it tumbled too far into the mist below. "Now slam em', Ludwig!" The granny giggled, Golurk following command with an attempted FOCUS PUNCH on the Altaria and its rider.

only now when he's up close is he able to see his opposition for who they are, their wrinkles so abundantly clear that calling them sixty had to be a compliment. he takes a moment to process the revelation, caught off guard long enough to tip the scales against him.[break][break]

his altaria isn't able to dodge the FOCUS PUNCH in time. it clips the dragon's throat, drawing a strained cough from it as it struggles for air.[break][break]

Watching the squirming was satisfying, so much so that Marilyn never wished for it to end. What joy would there be in killing a member of the Elite Four, when instead she could drag him all the way back to Sootopolis? Surely seeking capture of MATIAS SILPH would bring fruitful rewards, rather than being one to cast his body into the abyss below, adding to the corpses of all the weak that had fallen.[break][break]

"Draw it out, Ludwig. This is fun!" The granny giggled some more, tapping the Golurk's side to command yet another release. Flying a bit closer to the two as they dipped, the colossal pokemon channeled dark, grudge-filled energies through its metallic body in an attempt to grant the Altaria a CURSE- one that dished out quite the life force from the caster, no doubt.[break][break]

Holding onto the cane in her hands, the two continued to drift next to their opponent, looming. "Tell me, Matias Silph. What are you thinking of at this moment? I'm a curious lady, and I'd say you grow silent, but you have been silent for quite long." She asked curiously, a sweetness present within her words none other than a grandmother could have. Sure, he could lie, but she genuinely wished to know what made him tick.

his harsh words seem to be what altaria needs to wrap itself in a DRAGON DANCE, righting itself to stop its immediate plummet. it shifts into a glide instead that cuts through clouds, though apparently not swift enough to evade their assailant.[break][break]

Marilyn was well aware of just how frail she was, but his words brought a laugh to her wrinkled, crusted cheeks. It was a fate designed for those with an inability to accept death looming by their doors; so much to fight for, so much time lost to make up for. But being wise was said to be brought with age, and she wished to use her self-proclaimed massive brain to her advantage, even if her physical capabilities were definitely lacking.[break][break]

"Just picking up where I left off," she said with a smile, wind releasing her hair from the bun downward, ".. I've got some grudges against the universe, against systems and people that brought shackles to my arms! Wanting to make up for the five decades I lost, mmm." As she spoke there was a dreaminess, a lightheartedness in her eyes. Almost as if she were speaking to anyone on the streets, despite the scuff they had previously endured. The Golurk braced itself with an IRON DEFENSE, quite confused as to why she hadn't commanded another strike.

"Surely, you jest." She said, an eyebrow raised at his response. There was doubt in what Matias presented, for she had absolutely no clue as to what a member of the Elite Four could help with in her endeavors. But Marilyn was curious just what would come out of his mouth; sure, there were members of Team Rocket that would simply spit in his face and continue trying to kill him. However, she considered herself more of a subsidiary than a die-hard, one to indulge in the perks of her allegiance interwoven in her motives rather than carrying out orders without benefit.[break][break]

The fun she was having with drawing it out could be drawn out for quite some time, theorizing that if she could wrap him around her finger by simply listening, it could prove fruitful results. "What is it you're bringing to the table, then?" She asked curiously, eyes zoning in to absorb any and every move he would soon be to take. If he was just trying to distract her, she wasn't going to fall for it, as she'd learned her lesson in that regard in prison tenfold.
