The lash of the waves rock the boat again, and Lam grabs onto the railing with both hands as the beast bellows and rages, but it’s weaker than before. Just enough to let the Mega Altaria’s lullaby edge it toward retreat.[break][break]
“I’m on it!” he yells back. Fingers rise to his lips and he whistles, the sound high and clear through the cut of the wind. Another long trill sounds from the avian dragon as she arcs through the air before tilting into a steep dive down toward the now-sinking kyogre.[break][break]
Or more specifically, the bright blue sceptile on its back.[break][break]
With little effort she manages to nudge the lizard into flopping onto her back and then Mallow lifts away into the air again. Steadily climbing higher until there is less fear of any last retaliation from the drowsy sea god.[break][break]
Then she drifts down through the windy gales, rocking back and forth like a drooping feather, or maybe a petal blossom, until she can land on the ship’s deck and deposit her cargo.[break][break]
“That fish is no joke,” Lam grumbles dryly once it’s sunk out of sight and the tumult of the ocean underneath them begins to settle and still again.
