She waits for him patiently outside of the Rocket laboratories, Paradox Pokemon of the future surround her as she polishes their metal plates and helps to sharpen their blades. A few of them were Pokemon that he helped her find, the very first was an experience shared by the two of them that not even she could deny. The lab technicians inside were currently doing a dive with another pair of Rocket members into the Violet Book, so she had time to wait for Kouji, to ponder upon what she might find within those pages. She had actually taken a read through of the thing before it was inserted into the RKS System as an artificial core. Didn't find all too much interesting in those pages, just old tales of a kingdom she once inhabited as another person, the legend of two heroic pokemon and their fight against a black knight, all ancient history she had already lived through. The only thing truly worthy of note to her was the strange depiction of a Cyclizar on the front cover, a puzzling inclusion with seemingly no link to that Goodbye to Galar, but otherwise nothing that interested her greatly.

But there was more to those pages, codes hidden between the lines that paved a path to the future. And if there was anyone she could trust to walk with her on the path to the future, it would have to be the person to take those first steps alongside her.

Kouji hated this machine.

”Let’s go inside, and get this over with.”

When it came to the future, he didn’t mind it. His future was one that he knew, there were only ever going to be two paths for this Kouji Matsubara, but within the machine was only static futures, paths he had seen again and again. He looked over his shoulder as he looked at what was to come. He hated this system, but at the same time he found himself going in, again, and again.

”Let’s boot up, hear they’ve got some new scenarios in stock for us.” He said with a chuckle, even if he didn’t feel much joy from any of it. But he would handle it, and endure.

The first thing he saw as they got into it, was sitting carrion on the back of a Cyclizar, a high speed chase. ”Shit, this thing’s going fast. Wanna take a left?” Whatever left was, Kouji wanted to take that.

Evil guys never did what was right.

Xenon looks up at Kouji and nods quietly, analytical eyes prying his shell open and digging around to find the shape of his soul. "Indeed, I've run the gauntlet once before already. I think you'll find the future we see to be very interesting~" She purrs as she stands up and recalls her Pokemon back to their places of rest, only Argon remaining as her ever faithful shadow.

Digitization is fast and painless, once again Xenon finds herself on the back of a speeding Cyclizar as she grips its handlebars tightly and scans the roads ahead. "Welcome to the future Kouji! This is the first glimpse I've ever gotten to show any of you of just what I'm looking for!" Xenon screams with joy as the wheeled lizard leaps over an oncoming hovercar and slams back into the ground, rubber screeching against the asphalt as she takes the lead ahead of Kouji.

She looks left and spots a ramp leading up to the highways, the girl smiles as she leans over and directs the Cyclizar up and over into yet more oncoming traffic, speeding up into Route 314 and away from the pursuing Genesect flying after them.

Kouji looked around, and he still wasn’t sure what he was looking at. The future was great, but it wasn’t the future he sought. ”There ain’t enough fightin here.” He said as he gripped on tight, making sure that he wasn’t thrown forward during the jump.

But then again, they were being chased by those Genesect; so maybe he was getting the fight that he wanted. ”We’ll lose it in the cars, we don’t gotta fight these guys but…” He said as he went for his pokeball, Salamence appeared from the red light, a roar that pierced through the noise of engines.

That roar was followed by flames that took up their back; he could feel the heat as it caused the road itself to melt, and the cars to spin out of control, but the Genesects wouldn’t be beaten back by a singular move like that, they’d have to do more.

[attr="class","itemcoltext"]The jets propel you and your Cyclizar deeper down the highway. As you weave through vehicles and busy intersections, the Genesect squad soar toward you, free from the claustrophobia of the streets.[break][break]

In midst your chase, a transport truck crashes and overturns. From its cargo, crate after crate of robotic Pokemon break upon impacting the ground. There is a brand on the truck's side which reads: ANTHEIL.[break][break]

One robot stands out above the rest. A juggernaut of metal on tank-like treads begins to fire all kinds of attacks from its arsenal, targeting both you and Genesect alike.[break][break]

The future was great, the future was grand, the future was everything she could hope for! But still she wanted more! "You're right, everything is far too peaceful! We need to find the underground rebellion, every future like this has something like that, a plucky group of teens and rebels battling against the corporate overlords who took their futures from them! We need to find the underground rebellion and teach them-!" Her words are lost in the roar of motorcycle engines and Genesect screams, her imagination is running wild as she's submerged in the future she longed for, yet still she wants more as she tears it all apart and begins building up something even grander in her head.

Her hand whips down and bats a Pokeball from her belt with wild abandon, a flash of red light heralds the summoning of her Iron Jugulis emerging to feed the flames, a raging Hurricane stirring up the fire created by Salamence and creating a solid wall of flame that the Genesect couldn't pass through. Yet still even more pour onto the highway from another on-ramp, getting off the streets and onto the highway just opened the door for even more of the city's forces to pile onto the open roads. The cars around swerve violently and are flipped in the chaos, explosions tearing apart the freeway and littering the asphalt with potholes and debris, it's only a matter of time before the chaos reaches critical mass.

An armored truck hits a barrier of broken concrete and rebar, flipping ass over kettle and spilling dozens of boxes all over the highway, Paradox Pokemon scatter and spark to life with a roar as they begin attacking each other and the Genesect chasing them. Yet strangely enough, not a single one attacks Kouji or Xenon. The reason is fairly obvious once the Ultramodernist looks to the flipped over truck and the name emblazoned upon its side.

Her brain grinds to a halt as she forces the Cyclizar to stop, her breath catches in her throat as she stares the future dead in the eye.

Antheil.

"Heh. Hehe. Hahaha. Hahahahahaha! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! AHHHHHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! DO YOU SEE IT!? DO YOU SEE IT YOU BASTARDS, DO YOU SEE THE WORLD I'LL BUILD!? FUCK YOUR PRECEPTS AND FUCK YOUR TRADITIONS, I'M GOING TO WIN! THE FUTURE IS ALREADY WRITTEN AND ITS NAME IS MINE OWN!" Xenon screams to the heavens as she dismounts from the wheeled Pokemon and begins walking towards the flipped truck, a great and terrible machine emerging from its womb and screaming in concert with her.

”Didn’t take you for the arrogant type, just the crazy chick type.” Kouji said as he looked over his shoulder, at the group of pokemon that were chasing them. ”Rebellious guys from the future know crap from the future.” He said as he cracked his neck both ways.

There was something he didn’t like about all of this but that had to do with the entire system as a whole. Kouji cracked his neck loudly as he looked around for a moment, wondering what had gotten her so excited. He didn’t care too much about fighting these pokemon, he’d leave it to Salamence, and…Iron Jugulis. A pokemon Kouji disliked a good deal.

He cracked his neck the other way at that moment.

”Antheil…” He said before his expression remained flat, this was only beginning to grow even weirder. Kouji rolled his shoulder and looked at his surroundings before he looked at the monster that was beginning to roll from the rubble. ”Don’t go looking down on the future.” He said as he jumped forward to drag the woman away with him, out of the way of the rolling menace of death.

”This place starts to feel more and more like dream mist.” Yet it was something different.

”Oi, it’s got your name on it. Can’t you like, I don’t know…Order it to stop.”Kouji said as he went for a second pokeball, he was going to pick to fight in this scenario.
