The two lovebirds were arriving at her house, the end of a date night. She giggles as she grabs the keys and opens her door as she looks back at him and smiles "I had a lot of fun tonig-" she says as she suddenly drops her keys like the klutz she was "Oops." as she bends over to pick it up and finishes opening the door. "You want some ice cream or something?" she asks him as she kicks her heels off into the corner of the hallway. The door stays open for him to come inside as she shuffles inside.

"MmMmMmM I don't really know if I have mint actually I'll have to double check." she says as she walks in, she could feel something lingering on him, haunting his thoughts. [break][break]

Maybe Mint ice cream would be enough to lure it out to the surface so they could talk about it? She was going about it in a roundabout way but it was better to let him come forward with it. She walks over to the kitchen as her herdier stirs from her bed, doing a big stretch before waddling over to Navy as he knew the man was a sucker for him and stretched to be picked up. [break][break]

She managed to find it and placed it on the counter as she gets out the ice cream scooper. "I forgot I bought this a long time ago when you told me you like mint. It might be a bit too frozen I think to scoop." she says as she struggles to scoop it out but looks at him pathetically to help her.

It’s hard not to be a sucker for a dog Pokemon. Sighing, Navy leans down to scoop up Maksim. He lets the minuscule Herdier roost in his scarf, little tail wagging all the while. He moves to the kitchen counter, taking the ice cream from her and scooping it himself. Not for the first time, he wonders if this is a deliberate tactic by women to boost their man’s ego.[break][break]
“Guess your memory really is getting better.” Navy offers with a soft tone of approval. “Been thinking about Goode’s offer again. You know the one.” No time like the present, he supposes, especially with ice cream and good company.

"To become elite four?" she says as she totally leans on him while he scoops as it was 1000% a ploy to boost his ego. [break][break]

She had mixed feelings on the offer, he definitely had the skill to be on par with her and her the other members...but was it really what he wants? "What were you thinking about?" she asks him as she was curious to see yet continued to eye the ice cream as she had a serious sweet tooth right now.

Melody felt weird hearing those words, being side by side with her. It still gave her goosebumps to hear about how much he cared for her, it felt right to her though. [break][break]

There's a look of worry on her face for a moment before she distracts herself, using her index finger to wipe some of the ice cream off of his face and instinctively eating it herself without thinking about it. "I mean I'm a big girl and you'll always be by my side regardless if you're elite 4 or not." she responds. [break][break]

"Well Mi amor.... My transition to elite 4 was...pretty rough and different. It was because Stormy Silph kind of just up and vanished thanks to the triad. I had been kicked out of sootopolis and I had a million eyes on me, the media had a field day with criticizing me." she recalls the events, looking up as if physically trying to observe her memories before her gaze falls down and she gives a solemn smile. "But I did it because I knew it's what I wanted. I had dream of joining those ranks since I was a little girl. Being one of those super cool trainers who could kick anyone's butt." as she did a couple of silly kicks and punches on him as she played around. "But reality is, the job has a lot of things that suck quite frankly. Paperwork, policies that stop me, you're basically just an elite soldier who takes orders. What happens if you do tell them you want to head up a task force and Matias says no? Or Dahlia even says no?" [break][break]

"Or they give you an order you don't want to follow through? What would you do?"

"We're all alone though Navy...Regardless." she says as she stares at the ice cream that drips off of her spoon "Placed up on this pedestal, made to be the examples of what trainers in the region should represent. I don't know if I want that for you, the pressure.. on top of all the other politics and things." [break][break]

She hesitates after a moment before she continues "If you do this for me or Kyle and not because it's something you really want. You might end up resenting us for it. I just-" she says as she struggles to find the words to say to him, she wanted to support him if it was what he genuinely wanted but she didn't want him to do it cause of his worry for her or kyle. She receives his touch of the hand silently, her own smaller hand fitting into his easily as she feels every callous, ever bump. Find every imperfection, perfection as she smiles on the fond memories he brings up. [break][break]

"Not, really. No...most I've disagreed with certain orders but I still carried them out." she explains as she flips their hand grip over to kiss the back of his hand tenderly. "But I can't tell you with certainty that i'd ever disobey an order...It's ingrained in my mind to follow orders, I'm not sure if I ever really brought it up in galar.." she says as Melody had a hard time disobeying people she saw as a higher authority as her. In her own twisted vision that's why she felt like she wanted the champion spot, no one could ever be seen as above her again. [break][break]

But that can of worms could be opened at a later time, this was about Navy.[break][break]

"I don't want to think she would ever, but that doesn't mean she isn't capable..it took me by surprise how she reacted to Relicanth's murder." Her thumb traces the back of his hand as she looks at it gingerly. "Regardless of the decision you make, i'm gonna support you as much as I can."

“It’s alright for you to tell people no, you know.” It took him years to learn that lesson, once upon a time. In Galar, duty kept him from her. Inferences as to the truth of Melody Miro proved secondary concerns compared to the safety of the realm. Guilt, once again, bites at him. All he can do is use that wisdom from long ago in the here and now.[break][break]
“Goode. Me. Anyone.” In many ways, her attitude makes her the perfect soldier. It feels nice, holding her hand, feeling her lips against his own. It’s nice just to be close to her after what seems like a lifetime apart. “I’ll still love you if you don’t wanna do something, and Goode will still respect you. A small pause. Guilt subsides before some small but incessant excitement. She is, after all, a vexing woman. She thrills him in ways no other woman he’s met can. There are precious few people who can battle like she can.[break][break]

He points out something she knew was the truth. [break][break]

She frowns as she wrestles with the thought he presented. "I know, but, old habits die hard I suppose. Easier said than done for me" she says with a small frown on her face and her brows furrow as she hates that aspect of herself. She couldn't let people she looked up to down.[break][break]

That's why she wanted to be the champion, if no one else was above her, she'd be her own true master aside from a select few. [break][break]

"I know..I know..." she says reassuring him that he was right. "Just promise me, regardless of you becoming Elite 4 or not, you won't turn against me?" she says as it seemingly comes out of left field "People who've hurt me are usually those in high positions of power..I don't want history to repeat itself with you...that's my biggest fear." [break][break]

She stares at his expression, waiting with baited breath for his response.

They’ve had this conversation before. Melody harbors the same apprehensions she once held in Galar. Navy, blessed with hindsight, squeezes her hand again. He does what he should have done before.
