Gerald walked through Slateport Lower Districts. The sky was darkening over the wintry snow clad streets. The temperature was growing ever colder, so cold in fact that Gerald could see his own frosty breath.

Clad in what might best be described as the lazy-joggers-attire with a thick black jacket over, he looked no different than your average law-abiding-citizen. From time to time he would allow his fingers to run through the smooth white fur of the Absol that walked by his side.

Small puffs of air, frosting over into something visible the moment they met the cold air, and the rhythmic tik-tik-tik of claws upon the pavement. It was all Calliope and her Mightyena needed for companionship as they roamed the streets. Patrolled the streets, if anything... or close to at least. Slateport's layout was as foreign to her as her native country was. And she didn't even know her native country. Suffice to say.

A gust of wind creeps underneath her coat, prompting her to flick up its cowl a bit more. A long, light brown coat, its cowl and insides lined with white fur, a grey turtleneck sweater and jeans. Fashionable, yet casual enough to roam the streets. She prefered a more sleek appearance but that would only raise more eyebrows. The only thing she'd potentially raise now would be as to why she was walking around the lower districts.

Alecto snarled softly, alerting her of the new scent he'd picked up. Calliope shushed the Mightyena, gently stroking it before returning her hands back to her coat's pockets. No need for a confrontation of any kind, right? Just look down, avoid eyecontact and keep walking; the three steps to a life devoid of small talk. And she was sure she would've just passed the man without any trouble if it weren't for the violent rattling of pokémon behind a nearby dumpster that made her abruptly throw her guard up. "The hell?"

He casually kept walking as he saw a woman and her Pokemon approach him, well not as much as walking in the direction toward him. Not that he was going to engage with her, there was no reason to. Two strangers walking the streets, nothing that warranted engagement.

Had it not been for the rustling of a Dumpster and the crackling of tiny sparks of electricity, then that would have been it. But alas a Minun approached, weak, hungry and desperate it looked to challenge the woman.

But it didn’t get much of a chance as Gerald’s Absol charged the Minun, quickly defeating it with a weak Night Slash before bringing the defeated electric-type to her trainer.

The Minum stood little chance against the stranger's Absol. If she hadn't seen the little thing twitch as the Absol brought its prey back to its trainer, Calliope would've genuinely suspected it to be a one hit kill.

Her eyebrow rises questioningly, but the subtle nod shows it's moreso in awe than judgement. Yes, she liked the attitude the dark-type bore.

What she liked less was the metallic clanging, which had increased to such an extend she'd honestly expected someone to drive a hidden car out of it. Life does seem to mock her train of thought as a Revavroom makes itself known; equally starved, but a lot less gae to be taken down with a single shot by something twice its size.

Her Mightyena is willing, but she is not. One hand signals it to stay, while the other picks up a pokéball.

"Stake it." The Probopass that appears does just that. Manipulating the Gravity around the Revavroom it's left dangling, while Stone Edge'd spikes grow beneath it. A single snap, and the gravity intensifies, forcing it back down before its tires can find track on any surface. It stands little chance, sputtering as a pokéball locks it away.
