Making their way through the walkways to find their next match space, Yuina walked with Daikenki as they came up towards a guy and a small frog and a mess of cards on the ground. Seemed like a good way to take some time and rest together before getting ready for a next match. Yuina smiled as he stood, introducing himself.[break][break]
"Hey, I'm Yuina, good to meet you," she nodded.[break]
"Compared to the snow that we were getting recently, I forgot what it was like to not have to bundle up," she laughed a bit, it was nice that some of the weird, harsh weather had started to clear up, though the thunderstorms that had been rolling through this area left little in the way of truly clear weather.

it's still cold to an extent but definitely far less than it was a month ago.[break][break]

"cool looking samurott! they're tough pokemon, so i'm sure we're in for a fun battle here."[break][break]

froakie starts off simple with a SMOKESCREEN, hindering vision before it shoots out its tongue to try and LICK the water-type.[break][break]

True enough, compared to having slosh through icy snow and the unyielding cold, the rain storms didn't seem so bad in comparison, Yuina had to agree with that.[break]
"That's true, hopefully we're done with the snow by now," Yuina laughed, moving towards the battlefield to get ready.[break][break]
"Thank you, I think we're going to have a great time! I bet your Froakie can do a lot," Yuina returned, knowing that the size of the opponent hardly meant anything given all of the things that Pokemon were capable of.[break][break]
The match started, and the Froakie was quick, rushing forward within a smokescreen to attack. Daikenki hissed at the onslaught, trying to slash through the smokescreen, but Yuina tapped at the orb on her belt as Daikenki took on his Water Tera. Empowered the Samurott drew his seamitars and started to slash with Razor Shell.

"this little froakie? psh, he's alright. he's not the strongest fighter but he's definitely the slipperiest."[break][break]

is that even a real word? he has to take a moment to think about it which takes him out of the battle. thankfully, froakie is able to hold its own without instructions from its trainer.[break][break]

RAZOR SHELL slashes in return, forcing froakie to curl its tongue back in. no matter. it will simply rush through the SMOKESCREEN to try and SMACK DOWN samurott.[break][break]

Getting into the thick of it, Yuina watched Daikenki move forward to advance on their opponent, though the Froakie kept up with the smokescreen to try and maintain its facade.[break]
"Well, we're not going to underestimate anything. It's already putting up a good fight," Yuina nodded, and Daikenki switched his form on his seamitars as he lunged through the smokescreen again, cleaving through the heavy smog and looking to strike the little frog with his Ceaseless Edge.

it's not so much anger but more playful annoyance that rises from the sight of his froakie rushing in so recklessly. it fights without thinking which usually works in its favor but it can't take such risks against Yuina Higashi's samurott.[break][break]

right as CEASELESS EDGE finds it, froakie leaps back, taking the damage only to spit back a HYDRO PUMP in return before it clones itself with DOUBLE TEAM.[break][break]

Things sure were getting dicey as the little frog kept up its smokescreen, but the doubles that started to over take the field and barrage Daikenki in a hydro pump was something else.[break]
"Daikenki, kage," Yuina called out, she wasn't sure if they would be able to get the upper hand here, but it was worth a try. The Samurott hissed, and leaped into the shadows beneath him using Shadow Sneak, the cover of the smoke screen proving useful as he rushed along the ground. He emerged from the darkness again and used his proximity to begin his barrage of Ceaseless Edge again, trying to knock out as many hydro pumps as he could.

not sure why cian is getting worked up when it looks like froakie is doing a good job on its own especially against a much larger opponent like Yuina Higashi's samurott.[break][break]

confused, froakie looks over its shoulder at cian only to let out a tsk, cool as ever as it slips underneath the CEASELESS EDGE. down low, it jumps up with SMACK DOWN, delivering an uppercut with its entire body.[break][break]

Striking with his seamitars proved difficult for the small target, the Froakie was just too slippery and quick to act. In retaliation for his strike, the frog leaped into close range and struck Daikenki head on, landing another good blow. The Samurott barked, baring his fangs, switching stances with his blades. They had to try and get in another hit.[break][break]
Giving a flourish of his blades, Daikenki moved to give himself room for a strike with a Swords Dance before turning again and finding the small frog, lunging in with splashing blades for a Razor Shell.

ribbit-san does not watch out in time. sliced by RAZOR SHELLS, it lets out a cry of pain which draws a grasp from cian, overreacting as per usual.[break][break]

The match was coming down to the final strike, the two Pokemon had one final clash to make as Daikenki huffed at the frog. Yuina looked out to her opponent, smiling at the encouraging words for her partner.[break]
"Thanks! Your Froakie sure proves that big power comes in small packages too," Yuina returned, the little frog truly was a great contender.[break][break]
In one final strike, Daikenki rushed forward, barking at the licks and lashes the frog landed upon his fur, slashing one more time with a Ceaseless Edge, the final strike to see how the match would be called.
