The first tournament she’d participated in hadn’t lasted very long. She’d been eliminated quickly, in what was a turn of bad luck. She much preferred this rapid-fire style of combat. It suited her chosen ‘bash your head against it really hard’ technique.

If she’d been rocking the same as she’d been a year before, maybe Lam would’ve recognized her as his opponent from that short lived tourney that fell through. Boom boom beatdown? Was that? He couldn’t even remember.[break][break]

And in any case, he remained oblivious to who she was. He parried back with a playful, two-fingered salute.[break][break]

So hopefully a bit harder to catch.[break][break]

“Time to shore up, Pops!” An activated tera orb swallows the pidove in light, only for her to emerge with the shimmering twinkle of ghost terastalization.[break][break]

The charged moonblast follows her, clipping her tail feathers and sending her into a spin. When she rights herself, a sweltering HEATWAVE is blasted back at the Iron Valiant.

The Iron Valiant lands the hit, smacking the pidove down to the ground. Determined, she doesn’t stay there for long, drumming back a volley of AIR SLASHES with her wings to meet the other’s blades.[break][break]

“What’s the worst taste? Would it be ground tera? actually, that would probably be root beer flavor.” Which is tasty.

He lets out a low whistle through his teeth. “Damn, you like immune or something?” If he tried to pull that off, he would’ve had constant hybrid of caffeine-anxiety jitters.[break][break]
Their pokemon match blow for blow until Pops breaks through. She peels away, trying to put space between them as she prepares her next attack.[break][break]
“Huh. I don’t mind it—don’t disagree on banana, though. Lemon is way superior. Oh, but pineapple would be pretty good flavor for electric types too, I think.”[break][break]
The psycho cut slashes through her feathers, earning a sparkly scatter of pale crystals from Pops’ body. Still, she gathers energy, the sheen of terastalization glowing brighter as she charges up a SKY ATTACK.[break][break]
“Y’know, I’m a sucker for matcha. Weed candy wouldn’t be bad either, though.” he shrugs loosely. Not the flavor, just the herbaceous effects.
