With his first tournament round ready to begin, Noel takes in the sights around him, the sprawling city seemed unfit for the location of this battle but these things were out of his hand. Taking a deep breath, he finds his resolve and takes a step forward, meeting his first opponent, although they were not what he was expecting. A child, much too small, he thought, to be participating in something like this. With a confused look and a raised eyebrow on his face, he questions the small girl.[break][break]

"Are you here for the tournament little girl? I think you've might have walked into the wrong place... But if this is what you want well... I'm not going to hold back just because of your age."[break][break]

With that said, he brings out his Shaymin out onto the field, the tiny creature looking spry and energetic as it eyes whatever Pokemon the other contestant would bring out.

And yet, it will not be the disgruntled feline taking the field. In his place, a Wooper appears, a smile hooked from antennae to antennae as he waddles onto the battlefield. Considering the matchup, things don't look too good on their end but when has that ever deterred her from trying?[break][break]

At first Noel wondered if she was brave enough to bring two Pokemon out onto the field. While against the rules, he would've welcomed the challenge. And to his surprise, it wasn't the large Luxray that they would be facing today, but instead the silly-looking Wooper that was the exact same size as his Shaymin. This would not be a fight of size nor strength, but of wit.[break][break]

"Well all right. Don't say I didn't warn you. Come on Shaymin, give them a fight to remember!"[break][break]

With the command to begin, Noel would start things off with a press of his Tera orb on his hip, surging the tiny hedgehog with crystal energy in order to turn it into its Grass Tera. Now fully powered up and boosted, a surge of power swells from inside it as it opens its mouth to fire off an Energy Ball aimed directly towards the wobbling Pokemon.

On one hand, she wonders if it really is such a good idea to being using something that supposedly defies the nature of this world. On the other, she's fully aware of how she's equipped Mesprit with such power to deal with unprecedented scenarios.[break][break]

She only hopes she'll never have to use it.[break][break]

The Energy Ball comes barreling towards Pips, but the Wooper will try his best to meet it, barely flinching in the face of power and firing a cheap Mud Shot at the Shaymin in return. While its kind may be good at countering toxins, it probably won't be as good at dealing with something akin to good ol' pocket sand.[break][break]

The Wooper keeping the same straight face after such an attack was enough to unnerve the small Shaymin. What kind of monster was able to take that hit head on and not even react? In its stunned state, it doesn't even act when a ball of mud flies through air and lands straight on the Shaymin's face. Stumbling around blinded and dumbfounded, it would finally wipe away the debris from its eyes and begin its attack once more. Angered from being made a fool of, it would launch one of its most powerful attacks to blast its opponent away. With energy being shot out from its body in wave-like projectiles, a Seed Flare would hopefully be enough to trounce the target.[break][break]

"Heh, your Wooper packs quite the punch for a Pokemon of its kind. We might have underestimated you before, now we're going to pull out all the stops!"[break][break]

A click of her tongue causes the Wooper to straighten up, stomping a foot against the ground as he lets out a cheer. The earth groans, then rumbles, Frenzied Plants sprouting up and weaving themselves into a thick wall.[break][break]

New vines slither to patch the holes made by seeds, the overgrowth surging towards the Shaymin like a tidal wave.[break][break]

This Wooper could certainly play both defensively and offensively. How such a thing was able to summon up plants like that was a question that may never be answered. As the vines came at the Shaymin, it would jump into the air in order to dodge the heat-seeking plants. [break][break]

"Hmph, you're right, and I apologize. Everything up until now was just a little test to see how serious you were about this. But now I can clearly see you're in it for the win as well. "[break][break]

Diving back down, the small hedgehog would aim itself towards the blue creature. Going headfirst, it would put up a mystical energy around the front of its head, hoping to land a Zen Headbutt right on top of the Wooper.

The Wooper had finally shown some emotion at last, and now it had grown furious enough to retaliate back. The aqueous move lashes out against the Shaymin, knocking it back as the hedgehog is sent tumbling down onto the ground. Infuriated at having to deal with such an annoying opponent, it would decide to once again, get up close and personal. [break][break]

"Don't get so smug just because you've got the upper hand so far. This is where things turn around!"[break][break]

Pouncing onto the Wooper, the small hedgehog tackles it to the ground, swiping its paws left and right to punch with its tiny arms, causing any amount of damage possible to the blue creature. Ultimately it decides to ends its wrath with an up-close Energy Ball before jumping back to see if Eris' Pokemon would concede.

[attr="class","inner-finally"]Perhaps, she's being a little cocky with how she phrased that. But there are times when a simple slip has already turned into a long downhill tumble. Keeping her wits about her, she falls in time with Pips, feeling every bit determined to weave that outcome into reality.[break][break]

Despite the Shaymin's reattempt to batter him down, the Wooper is ready to counter each hit, kicking back with full force for every punch to his body. And right when it chooses to fire a point blank Energy Ball at him, Pips grins as he aims a Power-Up Punch right in its open jaw. Then as the Shaymin attempts to retreat, he'll wriggle up to his feet as the plants he wields swarm in to form a cage, preparing yet another Power-Up Punch to knock his opponent down for good.[break][break]

Before its attack could go off, an uppercut lands squarely against the Shaymin's jaw. The brunt force was enough to completely shut its mouth and disorient the hedgehog. Shuffling around, the punch had caused its vision to blur and its senses to fail. This gave ample time for the
Wooper to end things once and for all. Connecting yet another punch that sent the hedgehog soaring through the sky, reaching the sky and then plummeting down to the ground. As it forcefully lands against the harsh ground, a moment of silence passes before the Shaymin tries once again to get back up, but to no avail. It had lost all its strength and the match was now over.[break][break]

"No!" Noel exclaimed aloud, returning his Pokemon back to its Pokeball where it would get its well-deserved rest. Sad to see that they had lost, it was still a well-fought battle and this kid deserved the win.[break][break]

"All right... you got me. Sorry I was so harsh on you earlier. You and your Wooper definitely proved to be a much harder opponent than I thought. How about after some time we do this again. After me and my Shaymin have trained a bit more."[break][break]
