Another match set, and Yuina was really pumped to keep going with Daikenki to work through the tournament the best that they could. Moving along the walkway towards their next matchup, Yuina found who she could assume to be her next opponent off to the side, waiting for the officials to give word for their start.[break]
"Hey, I think we're up next," Yuina offered with a smile, moving forward with the Samurott.[break][break]

“I think you’d be right!” His chirped agreement is accompanied by a nod of his head. Lam turned to face the young woman as she approached with her Pokémon.[break][break]

He’d been idling about, waiting for the last round to finish up. While they’d been waiting his pidove had nested atop his head for a short power nap.[break][break]

His supposed opponent was unfamiliar to him, but that was sort of refreshing! He’d faced off against his fair share of familiar faces already today.[break][break]

“Likewise!” he greeted with a lazily waved salute. His smile, however, was much more chipper. “I’m Lam. Let’s give ‘em a good show, yeah?”[break][break]

He took his place opposite of her when they were signaled— his shiny pidove fluttered forward to face off against her samurott.[break][break]

He introduced himself as Lam, and Yuina nodded with a smile, it was nice to keep meeting new faces around here, while also refreshing on seeing faces that were already familiar. She was learning names of people that she'd seen in passing, battling good friends for the first time and experiencing the sport of it all. This was really a wonderful experience.[break][break]
"Yeah, we will, I think we'll have a great match," Yuina returned as she took her side of the battlefield, it was time to start.[break]
Sending the Samurott forward, Yuina tapped at her Tera orb to get things started, and as Daikenki shimmered in glittering blue crystal for his Water Tera form, he lunged forward to start things off with a Razor Shell as he unsheathed his blades.

“Agreed!” He flashed her a cheerful thumbs up, and his pidove joined in the hyped up energy with a chirp and rustle of her outstretched wings. This was the good stuff, in Lam’s opinion. Far less stressful than having to battle outside of the gym circuit. Here it was all about the challenge and the camaraderie it could invoke.[break][break]

Another tera orb was produced to match his opponent’s. Blazing with light, the pidove reemerges with DRAGON TERASTALIZATION coating her feathers. The draconic crown perched proudly on her little, feathered head. Pops followed suit, unafraid of the samurott’s slashing blades as she darted forward– wind drumming up around her with a soft glow as she prepared for a SKY ATTACK.

The bird fluttered onto the battlefield and started off with a truly devastating attack as it rushed down from the air. It was coated in a brilliant energy, sure to land a heavy strike, and Daikenki did his best to brace for it.[break][break]
Digging his claws into the ground, Daikenki raised his blades and moved to strike with a Sacred Sword, meeting the bird's energy and its head on collision as he tried to catch the Pidove in his strike.

His pidove started strong(ish,) but the follow through was more important. The match could shift at the drop of a hat, if she didn’t keep her momentum up with the stronger Pokémon.[break][break]

Held at close range by the reach of SACRED SWORDS, his pidove failed to propel herself backward to keep up a ranged attack. Instead, her terastal energy amplified the draconic energy that glowed around her.[break][break]

Pops dove headfirst back toward the samurott, swinging all of her weight and then some with the force of a DRAGON’S HAMMER.

The small bird was matching blow for blow as it raced through the air, and it was all Daikenki could do to keep up his pace with his blades at each aerial strike the Pidove swept through with.[break]
It raced through the air again after meeting Daikenki's Sacred Sword, and immediately turned and came back down shrouded in the Dragonic energy of its tera type. Daikenki hissed, slashing his blades to prepare with a Swords Dance, and moved to meeting the devastating blow again with a Ceaseless Edge on his seamitars.

His pidove tried to dart away from the relentless swing of sharp edges and blades from the samurott, but Pops couldn’t manage to get a good dodge in. The CEASELESS EDGE caught her and the swipe made her chirp pitifully. The bloom of blood from a scrape was only barely visible under her blue-grey feathers.[break][break]
But the unending blows weren’t going to keep her down! Rather than continue to attack her opponent head on, she flickered from view—attempting to SHADOW SNEAK the larger pokemon and catch him off guard from behind.

Daikenki had the bird on the fray, it didn't look like it could keep going much longer, but just when it might have given way to call the match, it disappeared into the shadows... The Samurott barked, knowing two could play that game, and he too leaped into the same darkness in an attempt to meet the bird.[break]
Everything fell still for just that moment, the shadows melding together, until from the darkness both Pokemon emerged... As Daikenki was called for the match.[break][break]
"Your little bird is amazing, it's capable of so many things," Yuina returned, just because the match was called by way of the vital equipment for the tournament didn't mean that she wouldn't want to face the Pidove again... She wasn't sure they'd be able to manage.
