Eighth match she was scheduled for. "Noel Parker..." She didn't know him either. No idea who they could be, but with their little stadium at the ready, Genny and Gordo do their stretches.[break][break]

Moment he enters the scene, she waves. "Hey! Noel, right?" She's grinning ear-to-ear in the orange light of dusk. "Let's have a good match!" She's beaming, and with a jump in the air, her Dynamax Bracelet shows itself, jingling on her arm.[break][break]

Gordo waves too, rolling in a circle, before the big juice comes in.

The schedule of matches seemed almost endless. While each one was as or more exciting as the last, the drain on his body had begun to show. With a tired sigh, he places himself on his side of the arena and greets the new challenger.[break][break]

"Gene...Vieve right? Nice to meet you and I hope we have a good match as well."[break][break]

With her spry jump, it seemed silly that he wasn't the exact way at this moment. Battles were his forte and now of all times is when he should be enjoying himself. With a shake of his head as if to ward off call of rest to his body, he pumps himself up for what's to come. His Shaymin appears from out of its Pokeball and rolls forward onto its feet as if to mimic the Sandshrew.

Genny chimes out, and waves back towards her opponent. "Just Genny is fine!" But upon seeing that little Shaymin rolling to mimic Gordo, her hands are on her face, red, with big shining eyes. "SO CUTE!" That Shaymin was the most adorable little thing she'd seen! Immediately she feels herself approaching them, and petting them, if allowed. She was in love.[break][break]

Finally, able to peel herself off, with Gordo even patting the Shaymin too for good luck, Genny heads back to her respective corner.[break][break]

"Good luck!"[break][break]

Gordo is returned, and with the massive ball in hand thanks to the Dynamax bracelet, she throws it behind her with a pitch, before the massive monster armadillo explodes out, proper-sized.[break][break]

"Start it off like all the others, and cover the field in rocks!" yells Genny, who watches as Gordo begins the onslaught of rocks with a MAX ROCKFALL, starting the sandstorm and covering the field in the ballistics.[break][break]

This was certainly the first time Noel had seen an opponent pet their Pokemon before a match. While the notion was somewhat ridiculous, he let out a hearty laugh before his face returned to a smile.[break][break]

"If you'd like to play around with my Shaymin after this battle, I would be more than happy to let you. But for now, let's get this fight started."[break][break]

As Genny drew on their Dynamax power which enhanced the Sandshrew's size, Noel would tap into his own power and have his Shaymin switch to its Grass Tera. As the sandstorm covered the area, the little hedgehog's eyes would be somewhat blinded by the weather effect. The harsh sand pelted away slowly at the grass-type which also made it difficult to dodge the falling rocks headed straight its way. With moderate success, it was able to stay clear of their way until one unlucky rock smashes itself against the top of its body.[break][break]

Now slightly angered, it would return the favor with an Energy Ball, blasting it away towards the enlarged armadillo.

Well, now that Noel promised that, it was over. Genny was getting a playdate for both Gordo and this Shaymin together, but for now, as he said. Time to roll out.[break][break]

A Terastillization?! Genny grins ear-to-ear. Yuina Higashi used that too! But she'll see if the little hedgehog can keep up![break][break]

Unable to fully dodge the blast of the ENERGY BALL, in retaliation to falling rocks, Gordo took it head on, blocking with his massive arms. "Keep trying your best, little guy! Gordo! Quake!"[break][break]

The next onslaught of the DYNAMAX? MAX QUAKE from below to get that Shaymin off their feet. Genny was curious to see how well Noel could utilize that Grass Terastilization. If it was anything like her match with Yuina, it'd be to the last![break][break]

The sudden shift of the earth was enough for the Shaymin to lose its balance. Constantly tripping on its own feet, it would struggle to gain good footing during these tremors. If it couldn't fight on the ground, then it would take to the skies. Jumping up so impossibly high, it would, for now, evade the quakes and start diving downwards.[break][break]

"Cheering on your opponent? Just whose side are you on?" Noel jests, "Take them out Shaymin!"[break][break]

He had more than his fair share of Dynamaxed Pokemon to contend against. While the phenomenon was new to him, he quickly grew accustomed to it based on how many trainers were already using its potential. Diving headfirst, the grass-type aims itself towards the top of the titan Sandshrew's head, hoping to land a Zen Headbutt.

It was all a creative process! Even as Noel jests, Genny can't help but still grin to him. Yeah, she did want to see the Shaymin succeed! Even so, Genny was going to win-[break][break]

And then the hedgehog makes a hilariously tall leap to go in for a ZEN HEADBUTT and makes the shot! Clean! Genny's jaw drops, as the little grass hedgehog smacks Gordo dead straight in the noggin, the big armadillo dazed completely.[break][break]

"Shake it off, bud! Give the cutie the spike and serve!"[break][break]

And, shaking it off, the armadillo would move to sway the hedgehog in one fell swoop to MAX STEELSPIKE them into the arena floor! As steel spikes shoot from the ground to trap and smack the hedgehog, the target becomes much, much tinier. Dynamax has run out![break][break]

Clamped by the steel trap, the hedgehog has nowhere to go and is left vulnerable to any attack that the Dynamaxed Sandshrew would subject it to. Fearing the absolute worst, the Shaymin braces itself for whatever giant move they would do next, yet, much to its surprise, nothing happens and instead, Gordo is reverted back to its original form. Bewildered by this sudden outcome, the steel enclosure breaks off as if time had run out for it as well. The grass-type softly lands back on the ground and patiently awaits its trainer's next command.[break][break]

"Oh? Looks like time's run out for your little buddy. Now we're on a more even playing field. Strike now Shaymin!"[break][break]

In a show of power, the small hedgehog began to gather up power from within itself, radiating a green energy that pulsated all around it. Once ready, it would let out a battle shout and unleash a Solar Beam directed towards the Sandshrew, the ray so large it could topple mountains.

He had that right. But for the wrong reasons, for sure. The trick that Genny figured out over her matches was that the big form was just the appetizer. Gordo had a force on the ground, and with the SANDSTORM thanks to the Max Rockfall still in play, it gave Gordo some room to breathe.[break][break]

Seeing the charge of green, Genny's face riddles with sweat. Solar Beam? Oh heck, was that little guy charging this whole time? In this weather?[break][break]

Unfortunately for Gordo, as he's hit with the blast midair, unable to fully fight against it, Genny calls out. "GORDO!" Only to be thankfully surprised, when he appears from the attack, in a balled form, and out of the way of the strike. AGILITY used to speed up, and now, racing on a ROLLOUT powered by SAND RUSH to close the distance and slapshot that little hedgehog.[break][break]

It seemed like the little ground-type was able to evade safely against the Shaymin's attack. And now it was going for the offensive, the sand both obscuring the hedgehog's vision and causing its opponent to grow even faster inside it. It looks around, preparing itself for the Sandshrew to attack at any angle, but through this dust storm, that would be impossible. Soon, Noel's Pokemon is suddenly knocked back by a surprise attack, Gordo rolled straight through its body, and it's sent knocked back.[break][break]

Wincing in pain and still unable to see, it decides that this weather had to go. Firing off a Seed Flare in all directions, the wavy projectiles would break the storm, dissipating it entirely and allowing it to see clearly once more. The move also doubled up as an attack, hoping that at least one of them would be able to hit their opponent.[break][break]

"Nice try hiding behind that trick of yours. You've got me on the ropes now, but this is where we turn things around!"[break][break]

Whoa, what?! That SEED FLARE broke up the sandstorm? This guy was something else, and as she grinned at him, all she can do is respond.[break][break]

"We can't wait to see how you both flip the script then!" Confidence surges, and Genny pumps her fist up. Gordo wasn't able to get by unscathed, but...[break][break]

Where was he? The field was empty, once the sandstorm ended.[break][break]

In truth, Gordo had already been digging. Digging, digging, and digging some more. "Now!" Genny calls out. And from below that Shaymin, came the DIG finisher, if Gordo can land the hit.[break][break]

The green armadillo was a crafty one. Seeing through the Shaymin's plan, it had the bright idea to go into hiding, covered by the sand. And once the sand does dissipate, sure enough, the Sandshrew is nowhere to be found. The hedgehog looks all over, amazed to see nothing at all. Suddenly, it becomes too late, with Genny's announcement, the earth beneath Noel's Pokemon trembles and gives way, revealing the once hidden Pokemon. Its claws rising up from the floor, aimed to snip the last hit and take victory.[break][break]

"Watch out Shaymin!"[break][break]

But the warning arrives too late. Pushed away from the sheer force of the attack, it's knocked back and sent tumbling against the hard floor. Once fully stopped, it would try and get back up once more, its knees faltered, giving way every now and then but slowly able to recover itself back standing. There was but one hope left, to fight fire with fire. Sending an Earth Power coursing through the ground, it would aim for the same hole Genny's Pokemon had dug and came out of. Transforming it into an earthly prison that would constrict its movements and squeeze until the Shaymin had no energy left.

It came down to a split-second, but Gordo is able to blast upwards and outwards out of the hole, but not without the earthern might of EARTH POWER attempting to hold him. Without SAND RUSH, he lacked speed. BUT.[break][break]

Big but. Genny calls out. "Spin."[break][break]

Gordo begins smack into the closed off section, repeatedly. Draining that stamina as he slams and slams like a basketball, spin dashing back and forth, until-[break][break]

Like a pinball, Gordo flies outwards. And lands, at the ready. Only to see... oh. He'd already won. With a beep, the armadillo races over towards the Shaymin to help the little hedgehog up.[break][break]

"Great fight!" Genny says, now next to Noel as she holds a hand out. "We have to go again sometime, yeah?" Big grin, ear-to-ear!
