After their first fight and loss, Cass took a moment to heal up her Trubbish Jon, but not for too long - after all, the energy is filled with battle spirit, and even they seem to be infected by it. Especially Jon, who in turn motivated Cass to do better.

She did not, however, expect to fight someone she's seen in the media occasionally. After spending a moment slightly awestruck, she remembers that she hasn't said anything while Jon has already positioned himself in front of her. "Ah, hi! I'm Cassandra," she introduces herself, and then points to her beloved garbage bag. "And that's Jon. That's a really cute hat," she comments, regretting immediately that she hasn't dressed up Jon for the occasion.

[break][break] Ollie himself wasn't much of a battler — well, at least compared to some of the likes of other participants like Josh Devlin or kyle lopez, but he could still hold his own. Or try to.

[break][break] "Thanks - " Ollie said, answering for the Pikachu who dipped his head slightly, the hat sliding further down his face. "Tofu, make sure that she doesn't knock it off, kay?"

[break][break] The electric rat turned back towards his trainer, giving a comical thumbs up.

[break][break] "Right - let's start. Go buddy!"

[break][break] Nodding, the Pikachu darted forward. Leaf sprouted beneath his feet as the Pikachu TRAILBLAZED forward, leaping with a jumpkick.

Cassandra thinks back to her first fight, but of course would never tell the truth in a situation like this. "Yeah, we've been doing alright," she says, her eyes looking slightly more to Ollie's left than before, then faces him head-on again. "If we knock of the hat, do we win?"

She can't help the slight grin at the comical thumbs up from the pikachu, then looks at Jon again who in turn is giving her a little wave with its bag arms. "Jon, frontal Sludge Bomb!" Cass replies, in her mind going through the various attack but - well, simple is best, probably. Jon's quickly gathering poisonous sludge from within, and also scratches parts from outside, to throw a ball of it at the oncoming pikachu.

[break][break] It wasn't technically in the tournament rules, but it was funny enough an alternative that he was willing to entertain the thought.

[break][break] "Yeah, okay. I guess I can go with that! You hear that Tofu?"

[break][break] The Pikachu gives a sound of acknowledgement that is somewhere in-between agreement and frustration, as if it isn't the first time that his trainer had made things more difficult for him this tournament.

[break][break] SLUDGE BOMB explodes in front of Tofu's face before he can get traction, one of the balls knocking off his hat. Tofu's eyes widen as he catches the hat in mid-air, expertly twisting through the air so that it lands perfectly back on his head by the time he lands. He growls, tail lashing out an ELECTRO BALL in retaliation.

Cass did not imagine that the head ranger would actually consider it, but finds herself more excited for the fight now. "Can we also keep the hat if we win?" she throws in because moderation is not something she learned in abundance. Tofu himself does not seem to be pleased by the deal, and every a pokémon pleaser, Cass also throws in, "I have some Frosted Poké Puffs ... if you win, you can have one?"

As the fight starts, Jon's first Sludge Bomb seems to be a full success - half of a success, but still impressive. Still not quite as impressive as the Pikachu, who expertly catches his hat again, and does a whole maneuver midair. "Counter with Sludge Bomb again - one for the Electro Ball, one for the hat!" Cass is quick to order, and Jon delivers - the Sludge Bombs this time are smaller, but thrown in quick succession for the one true goal.

[break][break] Ollie scratched his cheek in thought. Tofu was awfully attached to that hat, so he probably wouldn't appreciate the wager. Then again, Tofu also really liked snacks — which was evident from the amount of times that Ollie had walked into the kitchen in the middle of the night, only to find his Pikachu stuffing his face with cheetos.

[break][break] "Alright... you got it!" he said with a grin. He didn't even have to see Tofu's face to know that the pokemon was glaring daggers at him right now. 'It'll give you motivation,' Ollie thought, as if it would psychically transfer to the other pokemon.

[break][break] If Tofu could've heard him - which he couldn't, obviously - he imagines the Pikachu would've given an angry huff of a response.

[break][break] The second SLUDGE BOMB is far less effective, now that Tofu knows what to look out for. A TRAILBLAZE burns beneath his feet, giving him otherworldly swiftness as he darts forward through the various bubbles being lobbed at him, before aiming a headbutt right at the Trubbish's mouth.

Cassandra has not expected Ollie to actually bet away Tofu's hat, but she is all the more pleased with the results in turn. "No take backs," she warns, a determined and motivated grin on her face as she looks at the battle. Even if Tofu himself doesn't seem to be too pleased ... maybe she'd give him two Poké Puffs, should he lose.

But man, that pikachu is too goddamn fast! Jon's hit square in the face by the Electro Ball, followed by another Trailblaze. "Jon, try Pain Split! Maybe it'll slow down," Jon's taken damage already, and is probably less in shape than the Pikachu - the Pain Split would ideally bring Jon back to form, and have the opposite effect on Tofu ... if all worked out, that is.

[attr="class","textbody"] The Pikachu squeaked with surprise as the PAIN SPLIT rippled through him, absorbing him from the advantage that he had over the other. Which meant that not only his pride now in jeopardy but his hat!

[break][break] Shaking his fur off just as Ollie instructed, Tofu looked rapidly around to see where his opponent was. Twisting the hat on his head, Tofu took on a different stance. This time, a sweet song filled the arena with the power of a DISARMING VOICE.

Cass and Jon both seem to be filled with purpose as they have a goal loftier than a win - fashion. Their strategy with Pain Split comes through, but it's not the end of all obstacles - Ollie and Tofu change tactics, instead remaining in place and ...

Cass, personally, takes a moment to appreciate the sudden song, almost launching herself into song as well to accompany the pikachu- oh wait, no!! "Jon, snap out of it! Perfect time for Sludge Bomb!" She can just hope that Jon's head is more in the game than hers was just now.

The triumph over the Sludge Bomb hit doesn't last for too long, as the pikachu just suddenly triples in size. Cass would be delighted, given that she quite likes stuffing her room with huge plushies, but in battle ... this definitely seems more menacing than cute. And even more trouble's underway!

While poison is normally not a problem, it becomes one when it's coming from your opponent- but maybe it'd work to fight fire with fire?! "Uhm, Toxic! Use Toxic on the plants!" Maybe they'd wilt - at least that's what happens when Cass takes care of plants. Jon tenses up - and then relaxes, as toxins spread from his body. Even if he also is close to tensing up again, seeing as the growth comes closer and closer-

[attr="class","textbody"] When Tofu triples in size, so does his hat. It would have been a hilarious thing, surely, to see such a gigantic pokemon with such a small hat. As it was, however, it seemed that Cassandra Kubrick' potential prize also tripled in size.

[break][break] All the more to fight harder to the end!

[break][break] Toxic bubbles around the plants from Tofu's attack, causing the vines to wither away. But it's all just a distraction, as sparks grow around the engorged Pikachu's cheeks. A G-MAX VOLT consumes the arena in a brilliant display of light.

The vines are surprisingly non-aggressive, all things considered ... and it's quickly revealed they're a trap. Jon's become pliable with that much poison oozing out, and some of the poison oozes back in ... (Cassandra off-field notices he might reach premium squishiness, but that's not necessarily a good thing for him.)

As soon as the crackling starts slowly charging Jon's plastic bag skin, panic immediately gribs him. In an effort to get out of range, he gathers up the sludge and poison around him, forming little Sludge Bombs to propel himself out of reach ... however, the hat is hard to miss, and ... in a last ditch effort, Jon coats himself in the sludge, launching himself as Sludge Bomb using Sludge Bombs right at the hat!!
